Re: Overcooked! All You Can Eat Adds New Chefs, Levels And Recipes In Upcoming Free Update

@Ogbert It might be worth contacting the developers if you have purchased both 1 and 2 and now have no way to get the upcoming DLC without additionally purchasing All You Can Eat.

It is possible that they will help out in some way... I once purchased a game on Steam, which was a very simple game but had major performance issues... Steam refused to refund me but the game devs sent me a code to download on Switch.

The All You Can Eat version gets cheap enough with sales that it is worth getting if you plan to keep playing it... It will probably be cheap enough at times to warrant a purchase just for the exclusive DLC.

All You Can Eat is definitely the version to get as the original has some glaring issues and progress can be very difficult and the fun ends fast. It is too bad that play-testing didn't reveal these issues earlier, so they could be corrected in the original versions.

Also annoying is that there is now the original game, the sequel, a Season Pass, a Gourmet edition, and All You Can Eat.

At this point, I feel like all versions other than All You Can Eat should be unavailable for purchase so new buyers don't get burned.

The visuals do look quite nice... but you can't tell how the racing "feels" without playing it. Even the wizards at Nintendo didn't get it right on some of the Mario Kart iterations.

And what are the chances this runs at solid 60 FPS on Switch?

This makes me think a Pikmin Kart would be incredibly fun as an "adventure racer".

Re: Fighting Game 'Die By The Blade' Reminds Us Of Bushido Blade In The Best Way

Absolutely loved Bushido Blade 1 & 2 in my college days... got a PS1 emulator just for those games.

The closest thing I have found since then is the Deadliest Warrior games... which are actually quite good and one of the reasons I keep my PS3 plugged in.

Really excited for this game... I hope there is a lot of variety between the fighters and weapons, which is one of the best things about Deadliest Warrior.

Re: Review: Wave Race 64 - A Thrilling Racer That's Still Deeply Impressive

I remember seeing an ad for this on a TV at Blockbuster... I didn't think I had any interest in it, but there weren't alot of N64 games at the time... I rented it, played it all weekend, and bought it as soon as I could. Put a ton of hours into it, especially Stunt Mode once I could easily beat the CPUs.

The game has a wonderful ambience and feel... so simple and yet so good... I still break it out every once in a while and pretty much just ride the dolphin around.

This games needs an HD remaster (along with Star Fox 64).

Re: Soapbox: Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie Is Still One Of The Greatest Adaptations Ever

Saying that a movie has been "upgraded to 60 FPS" proves that you have no idea how frame rates work.

99.9% of movies are produced and rendered at 24 FPS... prior to BluRay they were traditionally converted to 30 FPS for consumer playback, but today we have the technology to display movies at proper 24 FPS. When done so properly, the playback is smooth as silk with zero judder. Unfortunately, alot of apps still convert to 60 FPS for streaming playback, which is objectively wrong.

Video games are different as the software is basically a blueprint and the GPU renders the frames "on the fly"... so a weak system will provide 30 FPS, a better system 60 FPS, and a super powerful system could provide 120 FPS correctly. This is simply not how it works with pre-rendered video content.

Converting film content to 60 FPS is just making up frames that do not exist and do not need to.

FYI... the movie is available via Amazon Prime... however, last I checked the Amazon Prime ROKU app will provide 24 FPS playback if you have your hardware settings correct, but the audio tends to be out-of-sync with Amazon when using proper 24 FPS playback.

Re: Poll: What's The Best Star Fox Game?

HolyGeez03

@Leuke Are you confusing Assault with Adventures? It's easy to do...

I feel like very few people played Assault and it seems like it was quite rare.

The 3DS remake of Star Fox 64 is great... one of the reasons I keep my 3DS around.
