Each Jackbox pack usually has one really good game that is universally liked, a couple that depend on if the right type of people are playing, and one or two stinkers.
If you play with the right group of people, it is a great activity.
I hosted many Zoom Meeting Jackbox Parties with friends and family during COVID shut-downs.
I was very interested when this game released... seemed like a cool indie experience.
Unfortunately, my wife and I found it to be an absolute slog to get through... we put it down for a while... then picked it back up to finish it, just to do so. It was never enjoyable for us.
Nintendo Life should make a list of well-received 3DS and WiiU eShop games that are not available anywhere else.
If you know someone who is into it... Affordable Space Adventures is a FANTASTIC co-op experience and one the very few games to actually make good use of the WiiU Gamepad and asymmetrical gameplay.
@WhiteTrashGuy Based on my knowledge and this article, you will be able to re-download games you have already purchased beyond the store closure. You just won't be able to make new purchases.
Your analyses only work if you assume the SOLE reason for purchasing the Expansion is the Mario Kart DLC... which would be silly.
If someone is already a standard NSO sub, and interested in the N64/Genesis, and the Animal Crossing DLC... the Mario Kart DLC via NSO Expansion becomes a huge value.
I would much prefer something closer to NFL Blitz on the Switch... but without the complete disregard for rules. The most recent version from 2012 on PS3 is super fun.
I played the entire game on WiiU and have also been playing co-op on Switch... there are some additional levels on the Switch version, but haven't gotten to them yet.
It's definitely worth a play-through... especially when it was $20.
I 100% agree that one enjoyable aspect of video games is to explore, experience, enjoy.
I also look forward to watching a significant amount of each GDQ... my enjoyment comes from the nostalgia of the classic games featured, an appreciation for the practice and talent to perform the runs, and the general appreciation for gaming and how beneficial video games can be to a very broad, global audience.
Oh yeah, these events also raise MILLIONS of dollars for really great charities.
Lastly... I'm almost 40 years old, so it's not a "youth only" audience.
Not necessary or useful, but ok. More characters in Mario Party isn't a big deal since they don't have unique abilities and you can only use 4 per game... the core characters are fine.
I hope Nintendo is using the resources to add additional boards and minigames, since that will be far more beneficial to the game.
I am happy with Superstars so far and VERY glad to see the character dice blocks and allies removed, as those things broke the gameplay. Online play appears to work well...
This game is the perfect structure, now just keep adding boards and games.
As it should be... it remains one of the most fun and re-playable games ever made... and enjoyable for all age groups and skill levels.
When MK8 released on WiiU, my niece was 9 years old and could barely stay on the track, but we still had fun racing together. I taught her everything I could over the years... she is now 16 and we still play every chance we get... and she beats me on a regular basis, which makes me a proud uncle!
More DLC would be awesome... but I'm pretty sure Nintendo customers, in general, do not purchase DLC in a manner that makes business sense.
I would be perfectly fine with a Mario Kart Ultimate, which is essentially just Mario Kart 8 packed with additional tracks (retro remakes and/or new). There is no need for any new racing mechanics, other than possibly some additional item balancing.

Re: Retro-Bit's GameCube Component Cable Will Save You Some Pennies
@Spider-Kev
Component is far superior to S-Video... among other reasons, it offers progressive scan (sync signal).
In short, composite = 240i, S-Video = 480i, Component = 480p/720p.
I just use my Wii for running Gamecube games via component cables.

It's just Superman.
Re: 'Jackbox Party Starter' Will Include Their Three Best Party Games For Newbies And Oldbies Alike

The Murder Trivia games are similar and very good.

Re: Feature: "Lemmings Meets Dickens" With A Bit Of Fable - Ex-Lionhead Dev Talks 'Tin Hearts'
Very intriguing game... and a very well-edited trailer video.
Re: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch
NES Remix seems like an easy one and would be perfect for portable play.
It could even be accessible via Online subscription... or purchased as a stand-alone download like the recent DLC.

Re: Review: FAR: Changing Tides - Mindblowing Moments Of Scale, Detail, And Discovery
I played the first one on Steam... I probably will do that again for the performance increase and since I don't need to play this one on the go.
Anyone interested should check this series out for sure.
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
Here are a few others:
STARWHAL
The Fall
Abyss
Typoman
Sportsball
Re: Feature: 23 Best Wii U eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
@OldManHermit Yes, DuckTales remaster has a boring art style, dialog, and pacing.
We need Disney Afternoon Collection on Switch!
Re: Feature: 29 Best 3DS eShop Games You Should Get Before They're Gone Forever
Not exclusive to the 3DS by any means, but Steamworld Dig and Heist work really well on the 3DS with the extra screen.
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th February (North America)
I think I might stop looking at the weekly release list... and just wait for the monthly Highlights list.
So..... much.... garbage.

Still a good idea to backup.
Re: Poll: The End Is Coming, But How Much Will You Miss The Wii U And 3DS eShop?
I think I will buy a couple Game Gear games on my 3DS just for nostalgia and fun... Maybe Columns and Sonic?
I still have my Game Gear, games, and TV Tuner... but I think the LCD screen went out years ago.
Re: Soapbox: NSO Isn't Game Pass, But Nintendo Is Learning The Benefits Of Subscription Models
@rushiosan But also Game Pass is $180/year... compared to $30/year for the Switch upgrade.
People really forget the $/month to $/year conversion.
Re: Poll: Will Mario Kart 8's Deluxe Booster Course Pass Make You Buy The NSO Expansion Pack?
@Astral-Grain
All true... but your original post implies that the the decision equates to paying $25 once or $150 over 5 years for the Mario Kart DLC.
In reality, it is:
$25 for Mario Kart DLC
$150 over 5 years for Mario Kart DLC, N64/Genesis games, Animal Crossing DLC, etc.
Whether or not the Expansion option is worth it to you is a decision to be made, but it's not simply $25 vs $150.

Re: Zombie Rollerz: Pinball Heroes Will Bring Its Wizardry To Switch Soon
I think it's time for Metroid Dread Pinball.
Re: Reminder: You Don't Need The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass To Play The DLC
Good to hear... I'm buying it immediately anyway.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Sticks With Mario Kart 8 Through 2023, But What About Switch?
I only hope that once all of the DLC is out, there is a MK8 Ultimate physical release that includes all 96 tracks on the cart.

Mario Party DLC?

Re: Mini Review: Retro Bowl - An Addictive 8-Bit Throwback That's Appropriately Super
Widescreen Tecmo Bowl for $3... Absolutely.
I wonder if my Switch NES controllers will work?
Re: Hardware: This Wireless Portable 4K Screen Offers Cable, Lag And Dock-Free Switch Gaming
@SepticLemon Call it what you want...
Question stands... does this device address the potential bricking issue when providing video and pulling video using the Switch USB-C port?
Re: Hardware: This Wireless Portable 4K Screen Offers Cable, Lag And Dock-Free Switch Gaming
Does the Switch run in overclocked "docked mode" when using this device?
If so, is it designed properly to not brick the Switch like some 3rd party docks will?
Re: Japanese Charts: Mario Party Superstars Leads In Another Dominant Week For Nintendo
They finally got it right again... Mario Party 9, 10 and Super Mario Party had so many problems.
Now we just need some additional maps and minigames.
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th January (North America)
How is Windjammers 2 not in the Highlights section?
Re: Review: Windjammers 2 - Sweaty, Strategic, And Better Than The Near Perfect Original
How does it compare to Disc Jam?
Re: The Artful Escape Will Be Shredding It On Switch Soon
Thanks for the info... It sounds like something that would be interesting to play though... But I will probably wait for a Steam Sale.
Re: The Artful Escape Will Be Shredding It On Switch Soon
The music and visuals are great, but...
What is the gameplay? Is this a platformer? Rhythm game? Story-based Adventure?
Re: Best Feel-Good Nintendo Switch Games

It appears to be a recycled/updated article.
Re: Best Feel-Good Nintendo Switch Games
@Mauzuri My comment was made almost a year ago.
And no, I will not sink more time into a game that I don't find enjoyable.
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th January (North America)
Does anyone know why this article didn't exist last week?
Did we miss anything good (probably not)?
Re: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Is The Next Free Trial For Nintendo Switch Online (North America)

Re: Review: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (WiiWare)
It doesn't seem like this game aged well.
Re: FAR: Changing Tides Will Begin Its Journey On 1st March
I played the first one on Steam... it was really cool, but a little more repetitive than I hoped.
I will likely play the sequel as well... looks like it could be even better.

Re: Guide: AGDQ 2022 Starts This Weekend - Here's How To Watch It, And Which Speedruns To Stay Up For
Yeah... the estimate for Death's Door is 1 Hour 15 Minutes...
12 Minutes is the "setup time" for scheduling purposes.
Same for Part Time UFO... estimate is 30 minutes, setup time is 10 minutes.
Re: Mario Kart 9 Is "In Active Development" And Comes With A "New Twist", Analyst Claims
I wouldn't call this "News"... should be under the "Rumor" category/tag.
Re: Poll: So, Do You Think Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Will Actually Release In 2022?
I would much prefer this game release in the Spring or Early Summer... even if it's Spring 2023. It's just not a Fall/Winter game.

Re: Feature: Game Of The Year 2021 - Nintendo Life Staff Awards
3D World is one of the best co-op games ever... And Bowser's Fury is quite good.
Would like to see more Indie Games... May e a Top 10 Indie Games list.
Re: Nintendo's Indie World Holiday Sale Is Live, Up To 75% Off Some Of The Best Indie Games (North America)
Anyone who likes video games should check out Shovel Knight, if you somehow haven't already.
Also, FAR:Lone Sails is a neat experience if you are into games like that.
Re: Mini Review: Omno - An Easygoing, Pensive Platformer With Echoes Of Journey
Definitely one of those "sale required" Wishlist items.
Edit: Just checked and it appears to be $15.99 (not $18.99) and on sale for $13.59... I will still probably wait a little, but that's not bad.
Re: Rare Founder's New Project Isn't What You Might Expect

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Short Games
Gorogoa is awesome and unlike anything else i have ever played.
SteamWorld Dig is also awesome, but not sure it's short enough for this list... but it is on sale for $2 right now.
Superliminal was pretty short and pretty good.
Re: Nintendo Minute's Kit And Krysta Say Goodbye In Their "Final Episode"
I came across a few episodes here and there... some of the content was interesting, but I just found the hosts annoying, mainly the guy.
8 Years and 400 episodes is a pretty good run...
