I played the entire game on WiiU and have also been playing co-op on Switch... there are some additional levels on the Switch version, but haven't gotten to them yet.
It's definitely worth a play-through... especially when it was $20.
I 100% agree that one enjoyable aspect of video games is to explore, experience, enjoy.
I also look forward to watching a significant amount of each GDQ... my enjoyment comes from the nostalgia of the classic games featured, an appreciation for the practice and talent to perform the runs, and the general appreciation for gaming and how beneficial video games can be to a very broad, global audience.
Oh yeah, these events also raise MILLIONS of dollars for really great charities.
Lastly... I'm almost 40 years old, so it's not a "youth only" audience.
Not necessary or useful, but ok. More characters in Mario Party isn't a big deal since they don't have unique abilities and you can only use 4 per game... the core characters are fine.
I hope Nintendo is using the resources to add additional boards and minigames, since that will be far more beneficial to the game.
I am happy with Superstars so far and VERY glad to see the character dice blocks and allies removed, as those things broke the gameplay. Online play appears to work well...
This game is the perfect structure, now just keep adding boards and games.
As it should be... it remains one of the most fun and re-playable games ever made... and enjoyable for all age groups and skill levels.
When MK8 released on WiiU, my niece was 9 years old and could barely stay on the track, but we still had fun racing together. I taught her everything I could over the years... she is now 16 and we still play every chance we get... and she beats me on a regular basis, which makes me a proud uncle!
More DLC would be awesome... but I'm pretty sure Nintendo customers, in general, do not purchase DLC in a manner that makes business sense.
I would be perfectly fine with a Mario Kart Ultimate, which is essentially just Mario Kart 8 packed with additional tracks (retro remakes and/or new). There is no need for any new racing mechanics, other than possibly some additional item balancing.
Personalized Dice Blocks and Allies break the game... glad they are gone.
I have owned every Mario Party since the Gamecube Era and none have been great since that era. Hopefully this game corrects that and I will probably get rid of my Super Mario Party copy.
The best board from my memory is Windmillville from MP7, where players decide how many coins to deposit and "own" the stars allocated to each windmill. That was a great board with a lot of strategy... hopefully it makes it into the new game.
@Dan420 Ok... so the main reason is because it's not worth the upgrade for me, just for a better screen. The items above are three more reasons not to "upgrade".
I have a Flip Grip, Satisfye, and Fixture S1... three more reasons I have no interest in the OLED Switch.
I do hope there is a re-design of the Flip Grip that works with all Switches... and it needs to work with the Switch screen rotated clockwise or counter-clockwise.
I always hoped a re-make would come to 3DS like Star Fox 64... would have been great for that... all of the top N64 would have been perfect for 3DS ports.
Any electronic device that plays video game software is a "video game console"... there are handheld video game consoles and home video game consoles. The Switch is capable of both.
Colloquially it is used to differentiate things like PS/Xbox from PC... i.e "Console Exclusive"... but that isn't necessarily correct usage.

Re: Review: Windjammers 2 - Sweaty, Strategic, And Better Than The Near Perfect Original
How does it compare to Disc Jam?
Re: The Artful Escape Will Be Shredding It On Switch Soon
Thanks for the info... It sounds like something that would be interesting to play though... But I will probably wait for a Steam Sale.
Re: The Artful Escape Will Be Shredding It On Switch Soon
The music and visuals are great, but...
What is the gameplay? Is this a platformer? Rhythm game? Story-based Adventure?
Re: Best Feel-Good Nintendo Switch Games
@Mauzuri
It appears to be a recycled/updated article.
Re: Best Feel-Good Nintendo Switch Games
@Mauzuri My comment was made almost a year ago.
And no, I will not sink more time into a game that I don't find enjoyable.
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th January (North America)
Does anyone know why this article didn't exist last week?
Did we miss anything good (probably not)?
Re: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Is The Next Free Trial For Nintendo Switch Online (North America)

Re: Review: Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (WiiWare)
It doesn't seem like this game aged well.
Re: FAR: Changing Tides Will Begin Its Journey On 1st March
I played the first one on Steam... it was really cool, but a little more repetitive than I hoped.
I will likely play the sequel as well... looks like it could be even better.

Re: Guide: AGDQ 2022 Starts This Weekend - Here's How To Watch It, And Which Speedruns To Stay Up For
Yeah... the estimate for Death's Door is 1 Hour 15 Minutes...
12 Minutes is the "setup time" for scheduling purposes.
Same for Part Time UFO... estimate is 30 minutes, setup time is 10 minutes.
Re: Mario Kart 9 Is "In Active Development" And Comes With A "New Twist", Analyst Claims
I wouldn't call this "News"... should be under the "Rumor" category/tag.
Re: Poll: So, Do You Think Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Will Actually Release In 2022?
I would much prefer this game release in the Spring or Early Summer... even if it's Spring 2023. It's just not a Fall/Winter game.

Re: Feature: Game Of The Year 2021 - Nintendo Life Staff Awards
3D World is one of the best co-op games ever... And Bowser's Fury is quite good.
Would like to see more Indie Games... May e a Top 10 Indie Games list.
Re: Nintendo's Indie World Holiday Sale Is Live, Up To 75% Off Some Of The Best Indie Games (North America)
Anyone who likes video games should check out Shovel Knight, if you somehow haven't already.
Also, FAR:Lone Sails is a neat experience if you are into games like that.
Re: Mini Review: Omno - An Easygoing, Pensive Platformer With Echoes Of Journey
Definitely one of those "sale required" Wishlist items.
Edit: Just checked and it appears to be $15.99 (not $18.99) and on sale for $13.59... I will still probably wait a little, but that's not bad.
Re: Rare Founder's New Project Isn't What You Might Expect
His $/Hour is probably better than ever.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Short Games
Gorogoa is awesome and unlike anything else i have ever played.
SteamWorld Dig is also awesome, but not sure it's short enough for this list... but it is on sale for $2 right now.
Superliminal was pretty short and pretty good.
Re: Nintendo Minute's Kit And Krysta Say Goodbye In Their "Final Episode"
I came across a few episodes here and there... some of the content was interesting, but I just found the hosts annoying, mainly the guy.
8 Years and 400 episodes is a pretty good run...
Re: Random: An Unused Alternate Version Of Mega Man 3's Box Art Has Sold On Ebay
I wonder why it isn't Mega Boy?
Re: You Can Pre-Order OlliOlli World Now, Ahead Of Its February 2022 Release
Pre-ordering a digital game is a very odd idea.
Maybe if there's a pre-order discount?
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate Nintendo's 2021?
Upon review, it was better than I originally thought.
Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase To Air Tomorrow, 15th December
SteamWorld news I hope!
Nintendo still could have had something at Game Awards...
Re: Review: Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon - A Super Addictive, Combat-Driven Puzzler
Shovel Knight and SteamWorld make me happy... I normally wouldn't be interested in this genre, but will probably try this at some point.
Re: Best Spider-Man Games On Nintendo Consoles
I think I remember the GameCube versions... I am not really familiar with any of the rest.
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd December (North America)
Pretty Girls Mahjong sounds interesting... glad there are two versions.
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Puzzle Platformers
"ibb & obb" is one of the greatest co-op experiences of my life... anyone with a friend who is into the genre should absolutely play it.
I tried Chariot on WiiU and it got very boring... never finished it... is Super Chariot any better?
Re: Best Cheap Nintendo Switch Games - Switch eShop Deals (US)
Inside is great... and well known.
FAR: Lone Sails is a little slow and a bit confusing, but it is really cool and highly recommended at that price.
Re: Sci-Fi Turn-Based Strategy Nova-111 Comes To Switch Next Year
I bough a LOT of WiiU indie titles... but I do not remember seeing this one.
Re: Random: This $10 Nintendo Switch eShop Game Has Suddenly Shot Up To A Whopping $250
They do that so they can make it 100000000% off next week...
Re: Nintendo's Enormous Cyber Switch Sale Is Now Live, More Than 1,000 Games Discounted
@earthinheritor Companies put things on sale to move product... if they didn't need to, they wouldn't... Nintendo doesn't need to.
We need to get a basic Economics course into our school system curriculum.

I assume everyone has seen the echidna reproductive organ info?
Re: INDIE Live Expo Winter 2021 Will Show Off More Than 500 Games, Apparently
Hopefully the good ones come to Switch...
Re: Nintendo Download: 21st October (North America)
I have the original Alpaca Ball on Switch... it's good fun with the right people... I am curious what the differences are with Allstars.
The biggest issue with the original is you can't play 2v2 with two humans and two CPU characters... maybe that has been fixed?
It does not appear that Allstars on Switch has added online multiplayer?
Re: Feature: 8 Games That Missed Nintendo Hardware
Disney. Afternoon. Collection.
Re: Metroid Dread Sparks Improved Sales For Past Games In The Series
Wii U is awesome!

Re: Sad Times, The Amazing Flip Grip Accessory Doesn't Work On Switch OLED
@Dan420
1) I have a Flip Grip
2) I have a Satisfye grip
3) I have a Fixture S1
Re: Sad Times, The Amazing Flip Grip Accessory Doesn't Work On Switch OLED
I have a Flip Grip, Satisfye, and Fixture S1... three more reasons I have no interest in the OLED Switch.

Disney. Afternoon. Collection.
Someone make it happen...
Re: Soapbox: Wave Race 64 Is Now 25 Years Old, And It Still Rules
I always hoped a re-make would come to 3DS like Star Fox 64... would have been great for that... all of the top N64 would have been perfect for 3DS ports.
For Switch... I would prefer a proper sequel.
Re: Top-Down Vehicle Combat Game 'Gearshifters' Speeds Onto Switch Tomorrow
Looks fun... but not sure about the $30 price... if it reviews and performs well on Switch, it will go on the Wishlist for sure.
Re: Feature: Our Verdict On Mario Golf: Super Rush's 3.0 Update, Including New Characters And Courses
Still hoping for actual Mushroom Kingdom courses... but I have a feeling that's all the courses we're getting.

Disney Afternoon Collection
Re: Poll: Do You Call Handhelds Like Game Boy And Nintendo DS 'Consoles'?
Any electronic device that plays video game software is a "video game console"... there are handheld video game consoles and home video game consoles. The Switch is capable of both.
Colloquially it is used to differentiate things like PS/Xbox from PC... i.e "Console Exclusive"... but that isn't necessarily correct usage.
Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, 23rd September
Wave Race/Blue Storm and Star Fox 64 enhanced ports would be good enough... the 3DS SF64 was great.
Or an enhanced N64 collection including Wave Race, Pilotwings, etc.
