Looks decent. Graphics-wise it looks better then Scarlet and Violet, and they went back to the "regular" human designs (in Scarlet and Violet they had weird eyes). They are teasing a explorable underwater-world (why else would they show underwater?). And it seems they just went for 2 different (clothes) Pikachu's as the mascots. Normally they choose a big Legendary as the mascot (The dogs from Sword and Shield, for example).
Ah well, I am not a huge Pokemon-fan but I might still try it.
The game looks pretty good, but the price is awful. And at that price its not even a real card, but a game-key! I thought game-keys existed to lower the costs?!
I really hope they won't do the same with the next Zelda/Mario/Fire emblem. They promised all first-party games to be fully on the card (I know, Pokemon is always a bit different in that regard).
I have to admit I also fell for all the youtube videos but as this article states (and I heard before), although the Christmas period was a bit dissapointing, overall it sells very well. And it also seems to sell really well in Japan (and the hardhitters for Japan have still to arrive, new mainline Pokemon, Monster hunter and Tomodachi!).
The bad thing is though that this won't lower the price of the Switch 2 or its games, so if you want to keep some money in your pocket wait for discounts (my goal is to not pay 80 Euro for a game, and so far its working).
I couldn't resist myself so I switched it on, just so I could see it. After that I switched it off again. Yes, Silksong was my most played game at 116 hours, followed by Sea of stars (75 hours) and Nier Automata (25 hours). My most played game overall is Zelda: Tears of the kingdom (310 hours).
I didn't get my "year in review" list because I didn't have the "trackers" switched on (that was on purpose), but I know my most played game must be Silksong (on the original Switch).
Hmm, I always got those lists from Nintendo. I also always get emails from Nintendo. However, it seems I have only turned: "collect information to improve services" on. And I am not entirely sure if I changed something recently or not. I think I'll just keep it that way. I don't trust Nintendo one bit with my data, especially with the current (super-greedy) people at the helm!
Just started it, so far I like it. However, the shot distance is faaaar to short. That's what probably makes the game so difficult (especially the bosses). The first Axiom verge is of course better and looks better too (with a better soundtrack).
Update: It gets better the further you get, you get used to the short shot-distance (besides, there's a augment that makes it longer). The more augments you get, the stronger you get. Bosses are fun too. Not bad at all. I also like that this is a "Metroid" metroidvania. There aren't that many good ones. Most are melee based, leaning into "Vania".
He's fine. I would be more upset by the rubbish level-design (corridor after corridor) and the boring overworld (wich had better graphics then expected. During the trailers the overworld looked like a great graphics dowgrade, but I think now that it looks good enough).
A surprising number 1! I only played the demo on my old Switch, but it drifted all over the place (Hori Split pad pro also starts drifting after a while), so I can't give a proper opinion. Personally I would have placed Silksong at number 1, but it isn't for everyone. And Donkey kong probably at place 2, although I only played a portion of it so far (after the dissapointing Metroid I'll go back to it).
I totally despise AI (who with a brain doesn't) but am realisitic enough that it isn't avoidable, not even in Nintendo games. Nintendo did jump on all the "evil" trends before (microtransactions anyone?!) so why wouldn't they use AI?
Our only hope is "the bubble" wich will burst very soon (2026 to be exact) since its the scam of the century!
I have yet to read the review, but I guess its not for me. Not enough single-player content (I think) and to hectic for me. Maybe next year, just maybe.
Now that I have seen more of it, the game looks much better (especially on Switch 2 of course, with better draw distance). The bike sections look terrible though, I really wonder what went wrong there. Soon I'll have a Switch 2. But since I ordered the original (the box looks better anyway), I might go for the upgrade pack and play it on the Switch 2.
On a sidenote: Funny that Sylux is now called Samus arch-nemesis, but she only fought him in one game. And a spin-off at that (Metroid prime hunters).
Soon I will have a Switch 2, But I am not in a hurry for a Express card. I don't know how its going in other countries, but here in Holland only 265 cards are available, only from Sandisk and Samsung and only officially branded (Mario on the package). Of course they are premium priced that way.
I don't think I'll buy many third-party titles. They are all Gamekeys, so they need a big download (and if you get them straight from the eshop its also a big download, of course). Your expensive cards are filled up in no time.
I guess I still get most of my smaller downloads on the original Switch, since there I can use the much cheaper, normal Samsung cards.
Speaking of prices: They are kept artificially high in Holland. For example, the Switch 2 is much cheaper on Amazon Belgium, but they don't send to Holland. And Amazon Holland is full price.
Might buy it someday (I have yet to finish Arceus though), but the setting (city-only) sounds boring and some of the textures are really terrible (especially the buildings).
It seems to be totally random...or its connected to your map-completion. I mean, as soon as I had unlocked the Greymoor/sinner's road shortcut I sat on the Bellhart bench and the Summons dropped down. Regarding the shortcut: There's a fake wall somewhere top right of the greymoor map and it connects to the Styx area in Sinner's road.
Sooo, : outdated, no mood, terrible looking bike sections, A split up world instead of one big interconnected world (I mean, the areas are connected with the desert. They are probably just very lineair levels), talking characters with "Marvel" humor to kill the immersion. I'll still play it, but might be the worsed Prime game.
They didn't solve the biggest problems yet: Reintroducing the Roach guts quest in act 3 (so that you can also get the Roach guts for the Materium). And a option to play the Garmond and Shakra bosses again, if you did miss them (and Palestag, since that one seems also missable. I did him, but some people missed him).
Regarding the reviewers Silksong comment: Lol, the last judge was very doable for me. Moorwing and Savage beastfly where much harder in my opinion. Then again I struggled more with the Dancing cogworkers then expected. Everyone is different. Besides the Pacman world 1 repac endboss was also pretty frustrating.
At least they try something new with the motorcycle, but I am not convinced yet. The motorcycle bit looked very rough and empty. I also didn't like the rock-music much that they used (Where is the awesome music the Prime series is known for?).
So far there isn't a single thing shown that wowed me. It all feels like that unnecesary 4th installment many movie-series have, now with added motor-cycle bits. The Prime series was over. They just should have made a totally new first-person Metroid, set after all the other games. The living Chozo's that wowed us in Dread probably should have been saved for this title. Would have made a much bigger impact. Dread wowed me straight from the first trailer and was a excellent end to the story involving Metroids!
This game won't be the second coming of a first-person Metroid. I am gonna play it, but it might be worse then Prime 3.
Nice review and nice score! Yes, its a very good game but also very hard. The Moorwing was a nightmare and sister Splinter was pretty hard too (though probably easier then Moorwing). Overall I need several tries on almost every boss, its that hard. Don't know if I ever reach the end, but for now I'll truck on!

Re: Poll: So, Which Starter Will You Choose In Pokémon Winds & Waves?
If I'll play it I probably go for Pombon or Browt. The Gecko looks weird.

Re: Review: Pokémon Pokopia (Switch 2) - One Of The Most Enticing Pokémon Games Ever

Re: Ubisoft Cancels 6 Games In Major Organisation Restructure
Finally the "Sands of time" remake, it was going nowhere (and I much rather have a totally new 3D Prince of Persia, but that's just me).
The sixth cancelled game...that must be Beyond good and evil 2, right?!

Here we go again. I am ready for some more pain! And free! These guys are amazing.
Re: Reminder: It's Time To Rate Your Switch 1 & 2 Games Of The Year
There's no Switch 1 version of Silksong on the list, so I voted on the Switch 2 version (a 9).
Only played a portion of Bananza so far, but enough to give it a 9 also (not as good as Mario Odyssey though).
Played a small portion of Metroid so far, but enough to give it a 7 (dissapointing).
Re: PSA: Copy Your Save In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Before You Enter The Endgame
Another baffling choice they made with this game. Luckily I am warned now.

Re: Nintendo To Acquire Bandai Namco Studios Singapore As A Subsidiary

lol, you might be right. And I agree, Metroid prime 4 is dissapointing (so far anyway).
Re: Nintendo To Acquire Bandai Namco Studios Singapore As A Subsidiary
@Zeebor15
I was thinking the same. For some reason Nintendo is buying the studio that butchered the first attempt at Prime 4.
Re: Review: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (Switch 2) - Samus Returns In Prime Form
Nice review and nice score (Metacritic gives it a average of 80% though, wich still isn't bad). I wonder where I will stand.

Rap in my Layton...I have to get used to that.
Re: Meet The Sages (And Zelda's Maid) In Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment
So the Gerudo warrior jumps ship, since she first follows Ganondorf? And the Zelda maid looks a lot like oldschool Impa!
Re: Nintendo Goes Full Pixar In Strange New Animated Short Film, 'Close To You'
It really sounds like Pikmin, but I also did hear a bit of Mario and Zelda.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Is Getting A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
If there's extra single-player content too I'll say: Offer the original owners also a upgrade-pack, like with Kirby!

Looks good, but I have yet to play the last one.
Re: It's Official, The Mario Movie Sequel Is Based On Mario Galaxy
Looking forward to it.
Re: A Brand New Yoshi Adventure Is Heading To The Switch 2
Artstyle is amazing, but this will be another very slow and boring (and easy) Yoshi primarly focussed on small children.
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed
Hmm, its finally going openworld...but it looks very empty! And you are on a bike, what the?!
I get the feeling that you are just driving from one very lineair area to another. We won't get a massive labyrinth this time.
Re: Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Charges Onto Switch 2 In 2026

Re: Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 Prices Are Live, And It's Sticker Shock Time
What did you expect with Nintendo's current greed?
Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?
So far the difficulty was very modest...untill I did Hunters Marsh. And that boss called "Savage beastfly", oh dear! Took me many, many tries!
