Re: Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Coming To Switch In 2023

Henmii

That's a lot of game for your buck. Just in time for me to not download some from the eshop, just get the physical version on Switch!

I wonder though: Some of these games had 2 versions, Pokemon-style. Will that also be the case here?

If Capcom re-releases their whole Mega man library I guess they will also do those 2 titles after this collection (I forgot the name, but they where also turn-based rpg's).

Re: Miyamoto Wasn't A Fan Of The Art Style In Zelda: Wind Waker When He First Saw It

Ironically, Skyward sword was originally supposed to be more realistic. There are screenshots from a prototype. But then Miyamoto came with a painting of cezan and said he wanted it that way. So Miyamoto isn't always against cartoon/impressionistic stuff. Of course he made cartoony stuff in the past himself (A Link to the past, Mario world, Yoshi's island, etc).

Interesting read. I remember Miyamoto defending the change back in the day, saying that a realistic approach just would get copied. I never knew that in reality he hated the artstyle and that it was Aonuma who pushed it. Well, thank goodness he did, it was great. Miyamoto was somewhat right about the sales though: It wasn't a massive hit in America back in the day. That's why they made Twilight princess. Skyward sword felt more like a compromis to appeal to both sides.

It seems they not always listened to Miyamoto. Now they have totally steered away from the realistic graphics. Botw is darker then Skyward sword, but is still cartoony and a bit Ghibli-esque.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 To Get An Expansion Pass Including New Story Content

Henmii

Bam, directly revealing a season-pass. 30 Euro, insanity. And the story dlc arriving at the end of 2023, what are they thinking?!

Anyway, game looks solid but graphics-wise its very underwhelming. It looks exactly like Xenoblade chronicles 1, not better. This one will be bought by me at a later date. Huge backlog and I have still not finished the first 2 ones (and Torna). I wonder if I will ever finish the first one on the Wii, but I definitely want to play more from the second one someday.

Re: Mario Movie Producer Defends Chris Pratt's Casting (Again), Says Movie Is 75% Complete

Henmii

Years ago I would have gone ballistic about a Mario animated movie, but now I am more: Pleeeaaassse be good and popular so we will also get a Zelda movie down the line. Of course I am also interested in a Mario movie and I will definitely watch it someday, but Zelda gets my blood pumping.

I hope Nintendo knows what they are doing. They are very protective of their franchises, but all those star-voices on the Nintendo characters sounds sooo unlike Nintendo. My fear is that we get a very young and peppy Mario and Luigi, shaven and all. Nothing like the Mario we know and love. Even worse: What if there will be a movie tie-in with these "new" designs and voices, and what if that becomes the future of the franchise? On the other hand casting Pratt for every game from now on...man that costs a lot of money. Nah, Nintendo won't do that (luckily).

True, but I still have a feeling Switch2 is meant for March 2023. I think Switch2 was already meant for this year, but then the chips-shortage happened.

I remember the last time a Zelda got delayed because they had to do "special things", namely mirror the overworld and ad some waggle so they could justify Twilight princess also releasing on Wii.

If there only will be one version of Botw2 there better be a good reason for them to make us wait this long. It can't be only Covid, or Pokemon (Pokemon easily gets Nintendo through the holiday, it will sell big time). Had Nintendo to re-learn how to make dungeons? Did they decide halfway through the development to remove a remixed overworld for a totally new overworld? I hope the wait will be worth it.

A new top-down Zelda this year wouldn't be that unrealistic, maybe sporting the style of Link's awakening Switch. Nintendo could have a smaller team on that, or maybe Grezzo.

Botw2 will be next year and it could be a Switch2 launchtitle (or a dual release, Switch and Switch2). We are probably talking about March 2023, so that takes some time.
