Re: Charles Martinet Will No Longer Be The Voice Of Mario

Henmii

That he didn't Mario's voice in the movie probably was a sign on the wall, though I can't imagine Chris Pratt to be doing it now from now on. Anyway, very sad news. He did a superb job and a new voice in the games might be something we have to get used to. Thank you very much Charles!

Re: Review: Blasphemous 2 - Bloody, Brutal, And Even More Brilliant Than Its Predecessor

Henmii

Nice review and nice score! The first one was amazing, but I'll wait for this sequel untill a huge discount arrives. Very expensive and I don't have time to play it at the moment anyway because of Zelda. See you next year Blasphemous 2!

By the way: The ign reviewer found the bosses to be pretty easy. Sure that can't be right? How is the difficulty compared to the original?

Also nice to see that the story takes place right after the first ones dlc. Sadly I couldn't play that dlc because it was locked behind New game+ but at least the developers recognize that it exists.

Re: Video: We Share Our Thoughts On Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom After 100+ Hours In The Game

Henmii

145 hours in and still going. I do have Pikmin 4 but it really has to wait. I initially was very worried about the game: Same overworld, Nintendo being to secretive.

But I shouldn't have worried: The game is amazing, the same overworld isn't a problem since there's so much to do. And then there is the sky islands, grotto's and depths.

However, I think one of the weakest points is actually the advertised sky islands. I just can't get a proper feel for them, they are to far apart and you can't simply fly from one island to the other. Yeah, you can use planes but they also have a lifespan.

Now the depths, that's my stuff. And the grotto's. And the lifely world with all their inhabitants (with their own day-night cycle, Majora's mask style). A lot of things have been improved from Botw. Botw is the more serene experience for sure, while Totk is the more lively one with more stuff to do.

I do prefer the Divine beasts over the dungeons in Totk though. And I also prefer the story in Botw. Totk is yet another "Ganondorf is back" story with zero connection to Calamity Ganon from what I can tell so far. And that's super dissapointing, I really hope the next Zelda has a different antagonist. Also, there isn't much new music that sticks in my head so far. And I prefer the towers in Botw. Sure, they had some fun ideas for it in Totk. But they where super easy to unlock, while in Botw you had to really climb them. The roots in the depth make up for them for a bit, since its often quite a challenge to get to them.

Put short: Lovely game, keeps me goin for a while and definitely game of the year. But Botw is the more serene experience with the better story and dungeons (and it was of course the first Zelda with this format, artstyle and world).

Re: Review: Oxenfree II: Lost Signals - Even Better Than The Essential Original

Henmii

The first one didn't click with me thus far, though I only played a small portion. A walking simulator about some teens on vacation, constantly talking, talking, talking, that's not something for me. But everyone says it gets interesting when the paranormal (Stranger things) stuff starts to happen. I haven't played that far, might try again in the future.

Re: Talking Point: What Makes A Good Sidequest, Anyway?

Henmii

I voted nothing because I agree with all the options. That being said, I think the quests in Totk are really fun (and often have good rewards). Only the picture-quests are a bit annoying since you can't take pictures you already have in your compendium. No you have to take those pictures again, removing your maybe supperior pictures in the process! That's just lame!

Re: Pikmin 4 Gets Free Demo Next Week, Brand New Pikmin Unveiled

Henmii

@Banjo-

That's not what I meant. Pikmin 3 was level-based, you pick a level from a map-screen. But now it looks like you really can go from one area to the next seamless (with maybe a few warp-points, Zelda style). Of course it also looked that way with Paper Mario Origami king and that game turned out to be very lineair (well, some areas where a bit more open, but you still progressed from one area to the other in a lineair fashion).

This Pikmin game looks like you get dropped on the planet and can go anywhere from there.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Henmii

At this point you would expect Nintendo to slowdown...but they keep on trucking! Maybe a bit to much Mario, but it was great stuff. Penny's breakaway also looks great. And then there's Sonic, Prince of Persia, etc. I am set for this year, that's for sure!

A pity though about Warioware, should be Warioland!

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

Henmii

Definitely! Everyday I am finding new stuff, making some progress. The game is amazing. So far I have done 3 of the 4 dungeons, found all the tears, unlocked all the skyview towers and have done 50 or so shrines and quite some Lightroots unlocked. But there's sooooo much stuff left. I haven't even visited Tarrey town or Hateno village. I haven't upgraded any suits. I have barely touched the sky-islands, wich should be the main attraction (I like the depths much more though).

My backlog is frozen. I may take a break for the upcoming Pikmin, but after that its straight back to Zelda!

Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Squeeze Another Zelda Game Out Of TOTK's Open World?

Henmii

They got away with it this time, probably because of the lovely caves, sky islands and excellent depths. But for the next one I want a new overworld and new graphical style. That way we can also have some different races. But it really doesn't have to be even bigger then this one, since this one is already insanely big. Though I would like 8 dungeons again (I have yet to try the dungeons in Tears, but heard there are only 4 again).

Since it probably takes another 5 or 6 years, we do have plenty of time to finish Totk. That being said: A new topdown Zelda in the meantime, would that be so bad Nintendo?

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Straight Up Fails In Just One Respect: Accessibility

Henmii

Oh, you mean this kind of accesibility. I was thinking of accesibility for new gamers: that isn't available either. Just like Botw its a spagetti of different buttons, even I get often confused. Maybe they couldn't make it more simple because of all the options, its even more confusing then Botw. It still has the weird habit of explaining things AFTER you have discovered it yourself, wich makes the explanation obsolete.

And personally jumping with X felt weird, and I can't run and jump after each other. Reversing X and B probably doesn't make it much better.

Re: Poll: Who's Your Favourite Champion In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

Henmii

Lol, did you guys all choose Urbosa because of her sexiness (she is sexy)? Though I admit she's also pretty cool (And she's also great in Age of calamity). I chose Daruk though, I am just a great Goron fan. If I had to choose my least favorite it would be Mipha (Sorry Mipha. You are still nice though).

Re: Hands On: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Indulges Your Idiocy In The Very Best Way

Henmii

Nice preview. Sounds like they took some inspiration from Immortals Fenix rising. I mean, first the islands (the shrines in Immortals where basically all floating platforms) and now puzzles in the overworld. That there are puzzles in the overworld now sounds great (okay, we already had that a bit with the Koroks in Botw, but here it sounds more expanded).

Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Ganondorf?

Henmii

Smash ultimate, though its just a flashier version of Oot Ganondorf. I also love Windwaker Ganondorf and have a soft spot for the Hyrule warriors version. Not a big fan of the Tp version, with his pineapple hair.

As for the newest one: Love the artwork and what we saw of him in the trailer. But what's more important: Does he have a significant role in the game and story, or do we just hear and see him at the beginning and at the end?

Re: New Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer Drops Tomorrow, 13th April 2023

Henmii

I don't expect much from the trailer, might just be another trailer that basically shows nothing. At this point I am wondering if they will reveal the story and set-up in any trailer, probably not.

I get more and more the feeling that this is just a cheap "in-between" Zelda and that the proper new Zelda is already long in development so they can release it on the Switch succesor in 2024 or 2025.

But why waiting six years between Botw and Tears of the kingdom? That's anybody's guess.

Re: Poll: Is This The Very End Of The Road For E3?

Henmii

Its almost funny to see that this is probably the third year in a row that E3 wanted to re-invent itself for a industry that doesn't want it. Can you imagine all the money down the drain...

Anyway, I always learned that E3 wasn't only about the games but also about other technical company's. Did they also leave? Otherwise I don't see a reason to cancel it yet again!

Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo

Henmii

Just did the endboss of Age of calamity, so I am ready for Tears of the kingdom (although the characters introduced in "Age" probably won't be in "Tears").

I don't know if I am in the mood to go through the same Hyrule again after spending so many hours in it (such a short while ago and in the same artstyle/graphics). For that there has be some serious incentive (new stuff, cool stuff, dungeons).

Thank goodness I didn't do the Korok hunt beforehand (will do that in the future) otherwise I would be totally burned out.
