SOLD. I think this would be something that I can play with my dad. He was the one who had the NES with the old Mario titles and he was the one to introduce me to Nintendo. So I think this would be really nice to have.
After I realized it wasn't a true Metroid title, I will admit my reaction was "WHAT THE **** IS THIS!?!" and to be honest, I'm still saying that. Doesn't mean it'll be a bad game though.
But IS there a story mode or is it just.... whatever this is?
I guess I'll just get it for PS4 then. Feel bad for the folks that crowd funded this with hopes of a Wii U version. I'd honestly take something like this over Splatoon.
I'm guilty of owning some of these. I hardly play Disney Infinity, but the figures are so nice! For most people, it's usually one character that makes them take the plunge (it was Aladdin and Jasmine for me). I kind of wish they would just bring out new figurines instead of a new version of the game every single year, that seems unnecessary.
The toy box can be a tad cumbersome I find. Maybe it's just me, but there's something about the whole thing that makes it feel overly complicated.
@electrolite77 that's pretty much the conclusion I've come to. Glorified on-disc DLC.
Nintendo just needs to go and make a game exclusively for amiibo (ie. a Disney Infinity type thing) instead of sandwiching them into every major release.
Bayonetta should have been there day one. Obviously they'd have to censor her a little bit, but she's perfect for Smash, and it'd also be good exposure for her games. I mean, how many people wanted to play Fire Emblem after they encountered Marth and Roy in Melee all those years ago? Same thing.
Glad to hear that it's made a good transition to the handheld. Will totally be picking this up since I wasn't able to get my hands on the Wii version. Everyone speaks so highly of it, so I'd like to check it out.
I'm getting this. It reminds me a bit of XCOM. I hope everyone who complains about Nintendo not making new IPs will shut up and put their money where their mouth is and support this.
I'm really yet to even see the point of Amiibos. Aside from a couple of costumes or something, it really adds nothing.
How could you tastefully include them into something like Zelda Wii U?
Nintendo needs to make a game specifically for the Amiibos, because shoehorning them into every major release just so you can have a couple of costumes or upgrades just seems like glorified and completely unnecessary DLC.
Because begging for games has clearly worked out so far for us.
I remember when this came out along with Guitar Hero and they were like the biggest things to ever be created at that time. People shelling out ridiculous amounts of money for fake instruments. You could buy a real (lower end) beginner guitar for $200, and learn to play for real.
I'd get the Yahtzee, but my issue is that I don't know anybody who wants to play board games. And if they do want to play board games, they probably aren't gamers. This is why I didn't buy the Mass Effect edition Risk or the Zelda Monopoly or the Mario Chess or anything else that's come out. No one to play them with.
I'd be game for Bayonetta 3, absolutely. Bayo 2 was one of the best games I've ever played. It was one of the few games that made me say "oh wow" (several times) while I was playing it.
Ironically, the first three Harry Potter games are very Zelda-ish, and they're the best games in the whole series because of it. Being a Zelda fan, that's probably why I like them so much to this very day. And then Goblet of Fire came along and screwed it all up.
Potter would have been a good fit for the Nintendo catalog game wise. I'm sure the games would have been amazing, but the films..... erm.... it was best that JK Rowling signed with Warner Bros.
2.5D Metroid on handheld and a Prime-style first person game on console is what we need. 2012 was two years after Other M, and Nintendo was probably still reeling from that title (the gameplay wasn't bad, but the story and the ridiculously long cut scenes killed it for me).
All I know is that we're getting Star Fox this year, and that gives hope to Metroid and F-Zero (seriously, they don't have to innovate on F-Zero, just put out a 2015 version of GX with some online and most of us will be satisfied)
Lacking chat for a strongly team-based multiplayer is a little.... perplexing. But I understand Nintendo probably wants to avoid the nonsense that is the COD/Halo chat.
I don't use chat when I play online, I like having chaos without reason. But some people will be turned off by this.
It's surreal to think that this is actually coming out next week. After all the campaigning and the rumours and waiting for an official announcement. It's FINALLY here.
It's not my favourite Zelda (it was when I was younger), but I'll be getting this with the N3DS XL nonetheless.
I remember doing this as a kid. I think I actually got it after a few tries.... it wasn't until I was much older and tried it again that I realized how hard it can be.
Last Lego games I played were the Harry Potter ones (which I greatly enjoyed as I'm a huge HP fan). Been thinking about getting Lego Batman 2 or 3. Not a huge Jurassic Park or Avengers fan, so I'll probably skip these. I think the only Lego would absolutely buy at this point would be Lego Disney or Lego Dragon Ball something lol.
I'm going to wait and see what they roll out in February. These are apparently going to be available until the end of the program, so if I change my mind, they'll still be there.
I'm surprised. Guess I'll put all my stockpiled coin codes on there now if they aren't going to use them in this alternative rewards program they're planning. I've started using Disney Movie Rewards, and I started comparing the two... DMR is awesome, CN... no so much.
Regarding platinum/gold status rewards (in North America anyway), the official message says that it will be available from April 1-30 and it'll be downloadable titles for 3DS and Wii U.
$229.99 in Canada. Went to EB Games after work and inquired about the Majora's Mask edition, they said they sold out in an hour.
Probably for the better I get the standard black version. I'd be less likely to want to take a special edition with me anywhere. I'll probably go through Amazon and use the gift cards I got for Christmas.
I already have both Galaxies and Punch Out and Prime 3. Tempted to get the Prime Trilogy, if only for convenience sake seeing as I have the first two games on Gamecube and it's not hooked up.
$10 for the Prime Trilogy? I'd be crazy not to jump at the chance. I already own those games in their original formats... but this would be incredibly convenient.
I get what is being said about the Bomber's Notebook and not knowing about the events happening around the game world. I think the intention is to just make the experience more streamlined.
Probably a bit of both. Somebody in some warehouse somewhere probably said "Hey look, we found one skid of those adapters back in the corner!" and that was the end of that. Though I do hope there was at least some kind of "one per household" limit to ward off the scalpers... but there probably wasn't.

Re: Nintendo Hoping That Splatoon Will Tempt Lapsed Fans To Splash Out On A Wii U
It just doesn't seem like it's worth the price tag. Maybe after I sort out my disgusting backlog, I'll check it out around Christmas.
Witcher 3 tomorrow! WOOO!
Re: Video: Here Is The First Footage Of 90s Arcade Racer Running On The Wii U

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Reckons "It Would Be Cool" if Rare's Banjo Was Voted in as Super Smash Bros. DLC
This is why people like Phil Spencer, he's open minded and he seems like a stand-up guy.
I still voted for Bayonetta though.

Metroid announcement at E3 anybody? No? Maybe? Can we dream?
Re: Feature: The Legend of Zelda on Wii U - What Do We Know So Far?
I try to keep this (along with hopes for Metroid Prime 4) out of my thoughts because the wait for E3 will be too painful.
