Re: Rumour: Mickey, Minnie Mouse and Olaf Among Characters on the Way in Disney Infinity 3.0

Gamecubed

I'm guilty of owning some of these. I hardly play Disney Infinity, but the figures are so nice! For most people, it's usually one character that makes them take the plunge (it was Aladdin and Jasmine for me). I kind of wish they would just bring out new figurines instead of a new version of the game every single year, that seems unnecessary.

The toy box can be a tad cumbersome I find. Maybe it's just me, but there's something about the whole thing that makes it feel overly complicated.

Re: Poll: Which 2015 Nintendo Blockbusters Should Have amiibo Support?

Gamecubed

I'm really yet to even see the point of Amiibos. Aside from a couple of costumes or something, it really adds nothing.
How could you tastefully include them into something like Zelda Wii U?

Nintendo needs to make a game specifically for the Amiibos, because shoehorning them into every major release just so you can have a couple of costumes or upgrades just seems like glorified and completely unnecessary DLC.

Re: More Zelda and Mario-styled Games Coming to Tabletops Near You

Gamecubed

I'd get the Yahtzee, but my issue is that I don't know anybody who wants to play board games. And if they do want to play board games, they probably aren't gamers. This is why I didn't buy the Mass Effect edition Risk or the Zelda Monopoly or the Mario Chess or anything else that's come out. No one to play them with.

Re: Nintendo Pitched For The Media Rights To Harry Potter Back in 1998

Gamecubed

Ironically, the first three Harry Potter games are very Zelda-ish, and they're the best games in the whole series because of it. Being a Zelda fan, that's probably why I like them so much to this very day. And then Goblet of Fire came along and screwed it all up.

Potter would have been a good fit for the Nintendo catalog game wise. I'm sure the games would have been amazing, but the films..... erm.... it was best that JK Rowling signed with Warner Bros.

Re: Rumour: A Planned 2.5D Metroid Title For 3DS Got Cancelled in 2012

Gamecubed

2.5D Metroid on handheld and a Prime-style first person game on console is what we need.
2012 was two years after Other M, and Nintendo was probably still reeling from that title (the gameplay wasn't bad, but the story and the ridiculously long cut scenes killed it for me).

All I know is that we're getting Star Fox this year, and that gives hope to Metroid and F-Zero (seriously, they don't have to innovate on F-Zero, just put out a 2015 version of GX with some online and most of us will be satisfied)

Re: Famitsu Article Reportedly Inks Out More Splatoon Details

Gamecubed

Lacking chat for a strongly team-based multiplayer is a little.... perplexing. But I understand Nintendo probably wants to avoid the nonsense that is the COD/Halo chat.

I don't use chat when I play online, I like having chaos without reason. But some people will be turned off by this.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS)

Gamecubed

It's surreal to think that this is actually coming out next week. After all the campaigning and the rumours and waiting for an official announcement. It's FINALLY here.

It's not my favourite Zelda (it was when I was younger), but I'll be getting this with the N3DS XL nonetheless.

Re: Three New LEGO Games Heading for Nintendo Hardware in 2015

Gamecubed

Last Lego games I played were the Harry Potter ones (which I greatly enjoyed as I'm a huge HP fan). Been thinking about getting Lego Batman 2 or 3. Not a huge Jurassic Park or Avengers fan, so I'll probably skip these.
I think the only Lego would absolutely buy at this point would be Lego Disney or Lego Dragon Ball something lol.

Re: Club Nintendo to Close, With Replacement Loyalty Programme Coming Later in the Year

Gamecubed

I'm surprised.
Guess I'll put all my stockpiled coin codes on there now if they aren't going to use them in this alternative rewards program they're planning. I've started using Disney Movie Rewards, and I started comparing the two... DMR is awesome, CN... no so much.

Regarding platinum/gold status rewards (in North America anyway), the official message says that it will be available from April 1-30 and it'll be downloadable titles for 3DS and Wii U.

Re: New Nintendo 3DS Release Date Confirmed for 13th February

Gamecubed

$229.99 in Canada. Went to EB Games after work and inquired about the Majora's Mask edition, they said they sold out in an hour.

Probably for the better I get the standard black version. I'd be less likely to want to take a special edition with me anywhere. I'll probably go through Amazon and use the gift cards I got for Christmas.
