That list isn't much different to what's on the wii u already so it wouldn't entice me to upgrade. Now a new metroid, kid icarus, battalion wars or f zero in the first year and you'd have at least one sale Nintendo.

Happy Birthday Samus. One of my all time favourite nintendo franchise's. Shame about federation force but hopefully there'll be something meaningful announced in the next few years.

What is going on with the size of their heads when they leave the mechs. Do they all have massive afros under those helmets that they don't want to flatten out.

This looks like the first metroid game in the last 20 years I won't buy.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I got it down here in Cork no problem. Maybe its just the smaller towns and villages that didn't bother stocking the game. I'm going to make a wild prediction and say your from sligo.

Outside of zelda this looks like the most promising game still to come. On 3ds or wii u.

I've been planning to pick up Dementium once I finish fire emblem fates and Tokyo mirage sessions. If Europe gets a sale like this I'll definitely pick it up earlier.

I'm actually looking forward to getting this. It looks fun and quirky.

I had to laugh when I read the line "and evidently was deemed too inappropriate for localisation". So are they saying the japanese are a bunch of pervs or are we in the west too conservative.

I still need to pick up Pheonix Wright Dual Destinies so that looks like a bargain to me.

Read the headline and taught that they were offering physical clothing like they had before on club Nintendo. Opened the article and see its only virtual stuff for an app. Disappointment takes over. Darn maybe next time.

@Nintendofan83 your probably making the same mistake I made at first. I went to the eshop instead of the theme eshop to claim my theme. The theme eshop is located in the home menu design app in the change theme option.

Is it just me or has there been too much emphasis put on re-reviewing the snes games on the new 3ds and not enough on some of the indie games released in the last month. Its not like the site hasn't got reviews of these same games on other systems already.

Seems like a backward step but hopefully theres more to be announced on the service before it comes west.

This looks terrible to me and I can't see myself picking it up. Fortunately there was plenty of other stuff in the direct that interested me so its not all doom and gloom.

I don't see anything wrong in highlighting something that seems very poor like federation force. Nintendo are not immune to making a bad game once in a while. In fact the last 12 months for nintendo seems to have been one of the worst years for quality control in quite some time, looking at mario tennis and amiibo festival in particular. But I just avoided those and picked up some of the better quality titles last year. Yoshi, xenoblade and mario maker.

Who knows maybe the game could be fantastic but from whats been shown so far I doubt it. Anyway I'll wait and see but not really expecting much from it.

What actually started me on fire emblem was recieving the sacred stones for free on the ambassador program with my 3DS. As soon as I played it I was hooked and have picked up every fire emblem game thats released on the WiiU virtual console since plus awakening on launch. I've got one of my friends and nephew also to pick up awakening just from giving them a go of my copy. Plus I'm pretty sure we'll all pick up a copy of fates once it releases here in europe.
Thats a nice amount of sales for nintendo and all it cost them was one free download of the sacred stones. It might not be a bad idea to give out a free download of some of the lesser nintendo franchises a month or two before any big retail release to build hype. Mario and Zelda are big enough not to need it but something like star fox this year might benefit if one of the snes or n64 games was given out in a promotion like that.

I loved Master Reboot. Really looking forward to picking this up when it releases.

I really hope nintendo keep away from VR. It would only spread their resources too thin. Plus I'd be very surprised if any of the other VR tech companies would end up taking off in a big way.

I've a bad feeling that theres won't be any must have games exclusive to the NX for at least two years after launch. I'm sure there'll be a few solid games in that time frame but I just know that anything big will get a trailer at E3 and then go a couple of years if not more of the odd snippet of information before eventually releasing. Possibly with a delay of some sort thrown in too.

I was surprised Fire Emblem wasn't an option. My top 3 if its a console would be 1. Fire Emblem. 2. Metroid Prime. 3. Kid Icarus.
Looking through the comments I'm surprised how many people seem to have kid icarus and metroid together in the same list. Seems like the two franchise's have a common fan base. I'm including myself in that group.

Really looking forward to hearing what Retro have been up to. Pikmin 4 should be a solid game also. Don't really care about any of the other topics and I've been really itching for some more Samus in the last few years.

@Yobreeze I'm pretty sure thats him referencing the financial year as in the NX would release from april 2016 to march 2017. Its also why he says it won't boost profits until 18/3 when it will be on sale for a full year which would be april 2017 to march 2018.
Kinda weird way of saying things but I suppose his comments are aimed for investors instead of gaming websites.

My biggest criticism would have to be the audio. I would much rather have the option to change the volumn of the music in relation to the speech and sfx. Most parts of the game are fine but places like new LA could really do with having the music toned down.

I was originally hoping it would be closer to fire emblem but for some reason I'm still really looking forward to this game.

Hopefully Dementium will get released in europe. I've been really looking forward to it but can't say I'm very optimistic it will ever reach us.

I wouldn't mind having her as an option in a console game where local co-op is done. They've already done multiplayer zelda on handhelds so how about a console whether its the wii u or nx.

@Freeon-Leon I think you might be on to something there. They would definitely need some help from nintendo on it but I could really see them creating an interesting alien world for Samus to explore.

I never taught I'd say this but after reading the review that 5 sounds like its way too high a score for this game.

What a system the snes was and still is. Every christmas me and my brothers whip it out and try to beat the chaos engine on it. Just one more month and the thug, navvie, brigand, scientist, mercenary and gentleman will be taking on baron fortesque's chaos engine again.

Two of my favourites that didn't make the list would be child of light and master reboot. I suppose it shows how strong the nindies have been this generation.

ZombiU should be on that list. One of the few games that really showcased the gamepad and definitely a top ten game in my opinion.
Really disappointed with nintendolife here as ye've completely ignored every third party game released on the system.

This seems terrible to me but other people might enjoy it. Can't see it selling in large numbers though.

I'd like to have some sort of reassurance that the wii u has a few games in development that will be released in 2017. They don't have to be big AAA games but at least something to keep the Wii U audience happy. I'm sure anyone buying a Wii U for the holidays would feel better with their purchase if they knew it was going to be supported past next year.

Wow. There isn't anything on the Q4 list that I'm interested in. Fire Emblem fates is definitely something I'll pick up next year though.

I hope whatever replaces club nintendo, takes into account my purchases from earlier in the year. I bought code name steam, majoras mask remake and yoshis wolley world. Also picked up a good few eshop games during the summer so it would be nice to be rewarded for my spending.

Looks like something I'd enjoy playing.

Zombiu my favourite horror game since Resi 4.

I played Master Reboot last year and really enjoyed it. The graphics aren't going to blow anyone away but I actually kinda liked the quirky look to them. I'd much rather an interesting world instead of a super realistic one. I'm definitely going to pick this up when it comes out. I know it won't be the best game I'll ever play but I'm confident I'll enjoy playing it regardless.

I just hope nintendo produce enough of the limited edition to satisfy demand and not end up with an amiibo supply situation. I've a feeling this will sell better then usual. Not huge numbers but better then average due to it having little competition in the horror genre on wii u.

This could not be farther from what I want from metroid.

If the nx is a console then it needs to be more powerful than the ps4. There is no point having 3rd parties on board if their games are going to struggle performance wise compared to the ps4 and xbox1. If the nx had enough grunt in it to give more stable frame rates or higher resolutions then the games would sell alot better on nintendos hardware compared to the wii and wii u.

This is still one of my favourite games on the Wii U although I can't see it being nearly as good without the gamepad. It felt very like metroid to me exploring a ruined civilisation while for the most part being isolated from everyone else. Just without the badass abilities that Samus has.

Nintendolife could you please cut out all the federation force article's for the next month or so. At least until the sting goes out of that horrible E3 reveal.

I'm really looking forward to the next prime game. Federation force is not the next prime game.

I really really hope retro aren't wasting their time doing more donkey kong stuff. Nintendo have a serious image problem that they're a kids console. They could really do with something more mature from retro. Preferably metroid related but a new I.P. would be cool also.

The controls don't worry me too much. In fact I'm looking forward to the challenge of trying to master them. I'm slightly more worried about how sparse the levels looked at E3. Hopefully platinum will sort this out before the game releases as the rouge squadron games from the gamecube days are among my all time favourite.

I think the main problem people had with E3 was they wanted to see what nintendo had planned down the line and what we got was very little. Right now once christmas is gone there is very little in the line up for the wii u for 2016. Hopefully nintendo have some quality games in development that they'll share with us in the next direct.

I've finally figured it out. The little hints here and there. Last year all the talk about the main character in zelda being female. Then an entire extra year of development put on the project even though last christmas the gameplay seemed quite smooth. Now Reggie hinting about a possible Samus Aran game in the works. Also they decide not to show any Zelda footage at E3 even though they say its amazing. Yep I've finally figured it out. They've replaced Link at the last moment with Samus. The new Zelda is going to be "The legend of Zelda, Metroid edition". They only didn't announce it last week as they knew an announcement like that, all at once, would break the internet.
