BotW 2 is going to be a launch title for Nintendo's next console and I can't see Nintendo releasing a new console next year so 2023 would be my guess for it's release date.

A year ago I would never have taught the Xbox would out sell a Sony system still in production in its homeland of Japan but here we are and the Xbox series has once again outsold the PS4.
The PS4 may be last gen but that hasn't stopped the 3ds from outselling Microsoft's home consoles.

@adh56 Cricket is huge in a lot of Asian countries like India and Pakistan so that brings its numbers up.

If you translate that from the Managers Nonsense phrasebook I believe it comes to "we don't plan on doing anything but hope you forget all about it".

There's 1 thing to keep in mind with the life cycle of the switch and that is for the last 2 years of its life cycle will overlap with the first 2 years of nintendos next console.
So don't expect the switch's replacement to be so far away. My best prediction would be the first half of 2023.

Hopefully they do a reprint of fire emblem. I haven't seen a physical copy (here in Ireland) in a shop for well over a year.

I'm fairly certain that BOTW 2 won't come out until nintendo release their next console. My best guess is a March/April release in 2023.

@HeadPirate Goldeneye reloaded isn't a rerelease of the original N64 game. It was a modern (for its time) retelling of the Goldeneye story that had different levels and story elements. It also had a very different multiplayer to the N64 game so it was quiet different from the N64 game.

Hopefully a Leon outfit will be added later.

I really loved this game. I had a quick look online and couldn't find any stock in any shops. Maybe Nintendo should do another run.

I think they're working on a port for Xenoblade Chronicles X now. They probably did some of the pre work while they were finishing up on Xenoblade Chronicles Defenitive edition and I'd imagine the main team that did that game are now working full time on a XCX port. The main reason I believe that is because the studio has nearly doubled its headcount since the Switch first released (it was 150 employees and is now 272) so having a team working on a port wouldn't take too much resources away from the main team that would be working on their next new game.

I'm more impressed by GTA V still being in the top 10. It's nearly 8 years old and came out 2 generations back for the PS3 and XBox360.

I used the netflix app on my WiiU in my bedroom fairly regularly so it's a bit disappointing that it's been removed. I'll just have to use my Raspberry pi instead from now on.

2017s Metroid reveal felt really special to me as I taught nintendo had given up on Metroid after the federation force fiasco.

They said it would be announced before E3 but they never said which E3. Probably another 4 more years so.

Before looking at anyone else's. My top 5 in alphabetical order would be.
Resident Evil 4, Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: rebel strike, The chaos engine, The settlers 2 and finally WCW/nWo Revenge.
Going by that list resident evil 4 was the last game to make my top 5 in 2005.

@Tandy255 Thanks for that. I never knew previous Mario Golf's had a story mode. The only one I ever played previously was the one on the 64.

Is it just me or did nintendo ripe off golf story with the golf adventure mode.

16 seems very low for a golf game. I'm assuming a 4 day tournament won't be an option with that small a roster.

Going by the fan feedback in nintendolifes article about calculator. I'm sure it'll eventually go higher then the 15% it's currently sitting on.

I'm getting some chaos engine vibes from the trailer. It might be worth picking up.

Didn't street fighter II launch on multiple systems in its day just like monster hunter world has in current times. So why is its being treated as if its somehow different.

@KateGray I'm not sure anyone is following the template you asked for. So I'll try to start.
For a Game series to return genie I shall ask for another Disaster Day of Crisis game please. I think a game like that on modern hardware could be epic.
Unfortunately Genie the game series to be discontinued shall have to be 3D mario games. There's plenty in the back catalogue to keep me happy plus I think nintendo are already in the process of doing that come the 31st. In fact I believe right now they're water boarding Luigi trying to see if he's hiding any of Mario's stuff.

I looked at the european cover and said it's alright but probably no. Then I saw the other two and decided to go with Europe. The Japanese one feels too busy while I feel the American one hasn't aged very well.

@RupeeClock That's fair enough I suppose. For me I'd take the Wii U pro controller over the switch version. It's a little bit bigger but it's lighter. Also I'd consider the button layout to be better for retro gaming especially for snes titles. Having the buttons at the same elevation as the D pad is a plus for me. Also having a bigger D pad helps.

@RupeeClock That sounds like fighting talk. The Wii U pro controller is probably the finest controller ever built. I don't think I ever had a controller with such a good battery life.

The gamepad and long load times your probably right about.

Considering its the first half of the year it was okay. I'd expect a couple of heavy hitters to appear in the direct that reveals the second half of the year.
The worst part of the direct was the pyra reveal in smash. I got so excited that there was going to be a sequel to xenoblade 2 that when I released it was a smash reveal I just felt deflated even though she'll be an amazing smash character.

I think I'd rather a skin of Dutch then the Predator. Also if you could get an emote of Dutch saying "Get to the chopper" that truly would be epic. Especially if helicopters returned.

I'm torn between the silver Gamecube and the black Wii U.

I wonder if there'll be any subtle hints at a switch pro in the broadcast. Like say the demo runs at 30fps most of the time but the full release could have a 60fps option?

No Xenoblade or Bioshock in the top 10 has me a little sad.

Maybe it'll only run on a switch pro and ubisoft can't announce it until nintendo reveal the switch pro.

Am I the only one who rated the bioshock games really highly? Xenoblade I also gave a 10.

I see the 2DS has outsold the Series S this week. I wonder how long it'll take before it starts outselling the Series X weekly.

I'm quite surprised how much of a difference the NA/Japan one is leading over the European. Especially since I taught the European was better even though both are good.

This felt like the worst of the nintendolife top 50 with having so many of the snes games unavailable to vote on.

Why is the chaos engine missing amongst others. It really feels like the snes list is going to be a bit of a farce.

Thats strange. I voted for pumpkin jack but the poll has it at 0% with only 15 votes.

Ya as @HotGoomba said above I'm very surprised not to see clubhouse games there. I'd also add civilisation to the list. Its a really good game when you get a few people involved although you'd want the entire day free to get the full value.

I hear that to avoid another Wii to Wii U scenario nintendo have decided to change the successor marketing and will go from the Switch to the U Switch. By putting the U at the front theres no possibility for anyone to not realise its a new console.
