Re: Poll: The Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Demo Is Now Available, What Are Your First Impressions?

@spiderman0616 100% dude. I hate the game key cards, too, but it is what it is, and no matter what those five or six scream endlessly, it is going to make absolutely no difference to Nintendo if a few thousand people refuse to buy physical releases because they're game key cards. This isn't a boycottable situation because the shift to an all-digital gaming landscape is inevitable. Let us talk about games in peace.

Re: Limited Run Games Is Bringing NES 'Jaws' To Switch In "Massively Expanded" Form

ElkinFencer10

@Dr_Corndog There are legitimate gripes. Spotty customer service, relatively high prices for often very short and/or low quality games, etc. But it's mostly just whining about niche collectors' products with high price tags. People whine about the long times between preordering and delivery, but manufacturing doesn't even start until after the entire preorder window closes, and even as big as LRG has gotten, Nintendo is going to prioritize making Yakuza cartridges for Sega over making Jaws cartridges for LRG. Lower priority, higher turnaround time. It's, at BEST, only partly lax work on LRG's part.

I, personally, LOVED playing Jaws on my NES as a kid. I'll be skipping the big edition, but I'll def pick up the regular physical.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows On Switch 2 Supposedly "Unplayable" For Some Players After Repeated Crashes

ElkinFencer10

The DLC for Assassin's Creed III on Wii U was completely unplayable for me. There was a bug about an hour into the DLC where you had to crouch walk through grass to sneak by some soldiers, but it would ALWAYS and CONSISTENTLY bug out and not let me stand back up or attack or sprint or anything. I even uninstalled the entire game including the DLC and redownloaded - no dice. Ubisoft just doesn't bother with QA on Nintendo ports, I swear.

Re: Digital Foundry Delivers A Tech Analysis Of Assassin's Creed Shadows On Switch 2

ElkinFencer10

@RenanLK It kind of makes sense considering that, since the Wii, Nintendo has intentionally released hardware much weaker than other consoles' to beat their prices. I never really heard it much before Switch; there were definitely a few games on Wii and Wii U I'd say could justify it, but nothing like Panic Button's work to get Doom and Wolfenstein II to run on Switch. We definitely don't have what I would consider to be an "impossible port" on Switch 2 yet, but I do think that Cyberpunk and AssCreed Shadows come close. I reckon I'll feel the same about the upcoming Resident Evil ports.

Re: Around 1 In 3 Switch 2 Owners Bought New Pro Controller Despite High Price Point (US)

ElkinFencer10

I preordered one, and I've never regretted it in the slightest. I learned with the Wii U that Nintendo's "pro" controllers are going to be comfortable, premium products. I adored the Wii U pro controller, I never used anything with my Switch except for its pro controller, and I've yet to use a controller other than the pro controller with my Switch 2. Each pro controller is better than the last. The price, while high, is very fair in my opinion.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Dragon Power (NES)

ElkinFencer10

I voted Europe. The actual art is the same as Japan, but I like that it included the in-game sprites. To be honest, I prefer the art in the US version, but it's just disingenuous to de-Dragonball a game that was made to be a Dragonball game.

Re: Hiroshi Yamauchi Might Feel Envious Of Switch 2's Success, Says Miyamoto

ElkinFencer10

@Don For the most part, I agree with you in remasters, but there are some that really deserve it. I think giving Mario Galaxy the HD treatment was worthwhile; it was such a beautiful game - it and its sequel - in 480i that it deserved a bump to 2160p in my opinion. Super Mario RPG definitely deserved a remake, and they did a brilliant job with. I'd love to seem them remaster Eternal Darkness, and I'd love to see the original Legend of Zelda remade in a modern style.

Re: Opinion: Third-Party Support For Switch 2 Is Already A Dream Come True

ElkinFencer10

I don't know if I'd say "a dream come true" just yet, but it's definitely fantastic. As for those mentioning game key cards, that's not relevant; the write-up is about game selection, not preservation of physical support. Unless you're going to tell me that digital-only games aren't actually video games, that's a pointless argument to make.
