Re: "Are You High?" – Xbox Co-Creator Believes Whatever Nintendo Makes Next Is Far More Interesting Than Project Helix

Dude is spot on. I've always said gaming should be dictated by the rule of cool. That's why I like the Dreamcast more than the PS2, the Wii more than the 360, and the Wii U more than the PS4 despite the massive number of major games that skipped those consoles. I don't limit myself to those consoles, but if I have a choice of platform for a game, those are the platforms I'm going with. Miss me with Darksiders II on Playstation or Xbox; I'm playing that on Wii U, baby.

@DennisReynolds This. The monetization is a non-issue unless you're the type of dig your heels in on principle. I bought the premium battle pass and one moth of membership to try it out and see if I think it's worth it, but I probably won't be buying them in the future because they're just not necessary. Most cometic stuff can be bought with in-game currency anyway.

It's good (7) imo in that the battles look good and, for the most part, work like they should, and that plus training and recruitment - both of which work wonderfully - are the most important parts. Definitely a lot of bugs, but they're already starting to fix those. It definitely needs a lot of work and shouldn't have launched in the state it's in, but I think the most important parts are pretty solid, or at the very least a solid foundation upon which to build.

Re: Pokémon Champions Bug-Squashing Update Is In The Works, Here's What's Being Targeted

ElkinFencer10

I'm pretty disappointed with the state it released in, but I'm encouraged to hear that they're already acknowledging and addressing bugs immediately. We also have to remember that, while this is by no means a defense of Champions's inadequate release state, almost all live service games launch pretty bare bones and get updated and improved steadily to come eventually to a point where it's awesome. Battlefield 2042 was kinda trash when it launched, but by the time Battlefield 6 came out, 2042 had become my favorite FPS to play online.

Re: Pokémon Champions First Details About Price Reportedly Surface

ElkinFencer10

@BLK_4EVER Read the community rules, dude; off topic comments aren't allowed, and my profile picture has nothing to do with Pokemon Champions's pricing. If you'd like to explain why you think it's unreasonable to charge money for optional cosmetics and bonus content in a game that's free to download and play, however, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo's 2026 Plans Include New Star Fox & Zelda Remake, No 3D Mario

ElkinFencer10

@FortniteCity and then the very next two sentences which make up 67% of the post. Why would you ignore the majority of the post when I so clearly said more about NES Zelda than I did OoT? Very strange, very peculiar

I'd also love to see the original Legend of Zelda remade in the same style as the Link's Awakening remake. I also think a full reimagining of Zelda II: Adventure of Link would be a good mood since few these days have played it and fewer still like it.

Re: Pokémon Champions Plans To Keep The Stadium Lights On For A Very Long Time

ElkinFencer10

@CupidStunt You don't have to pay microtransactions. The game is completely playable without paying anything. The paid stuff is only if you want to get really serious about and keep more Pokemon in Champions at one time and obtain held items at a faster rate. It's like TCG Pocket; the subscription opens up a lot of cool perks, but it's 100% enjoyable without paying.

Re: Nintendo's Apparently Cutting US Switch 2 Output After Lower Than Expected Holiday Sales

ElkinFencer10

@spiderman0616 No games lock me out due to price. I'm an adult. If I want to play a game, I buy the game; if I have to shift some stuff around in my budget that month to accommodate an extra $10, then I do it. I have yet to see a Nintendo game command $80 that wasn't high quality enough to justify it. Sure, Tears of the Kingdom on Switch 2 might not be if you played it on Switch, but if you never picked it up and want the full Switch 2 experience on-cart, then it's not unjustified. The market will bear what the consumer will pay; if the consumers weren't willing to pay $80 for these specific games, they wouldn't sell, and Nintendo would be forced to lower the price. We don't have to like it, but the workings of market economics are clear.
