I've been assuming MP4 would be a part of this Direct since it was announced. Wouldn't surprise me if this is the game's "real" debut, since what we saw last year wasn't much more than "Yup, it's Metroid Prime!"
@Toastmaster I wish that were true across the board. The Switch requires an adapter for a wired connection, so more people will use wifi to play online. You really notice it when you face them on a game like Smash.
@-wc- I'm sure it would help sales. But I don't know how much, and I haven't played SoH.
But the trend is launch games usually do better due to limited selection and adopters wanting some games to play on their new system. Remember Red Steel?
Hoping for a bold new direction. You play as a Mr. Mime, hiding and fleeing from trainers out to catch you. And when one spots you, you run by shouting "Mime! Mime! Mime!" into the Switch 2 microphone. The louder you shout, the faster you run.
Iterative sequels are great when you can buy a whole collection of them for $20. They were a lot less great when you had to pay $40 (in 90s money!) for one of them, then take it home and realize it wasn't that different than the one you played last year.
I've been wondering for years how there can be such an abundance of games on all platforms and the business remain profitable for all developers. I feel like we're watching a bubble burst right now.
Seriously, my favorite of these is Mario's Tennis for VB, simply because it's the only VB game I've played on original hardware, and I don't like sports games generally.
"What's especially neat...is that no AI whatsoever has been utilised in the creation of the book."
People freak out about AI images, but this book exemplifies why the panic is overblown. Its big, obvious selling point is that it is hand-drawn. The whole thing is made by a person. People enjoy and appreciate art made by other people. We don't have to worry about AI art "taking over" because too few people will be willing to spend money on it.
Any quibbles about the blow mechanic are minor enough to not warrant a mention, let alone two very forced paragraphs. I'll take it as a testament to the original game's greatness, though.
Watch it turn out that all of these "leaks" are fakes meant to distract us, and Nintendo's next system is literally just two Gamecubes duct-taped together.

Re: Talking Point: Will Metroid Prime 4 Get A Switch 2 Release?
Switch 2 launch title.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Mario's Picross
Sounding like broken record now, but I would've voted for Europe #2 had it not been for the blue box.
Re: Random: The "Grail" Of Sonic Merch Pops Up On eBay With Insane Price Tag
"Grail," according to the seller. So take that for what it's worth.

Re: Switch 2 Filings Show Support For Wi-Fi 6
Still use a wired connection for Smash, folks.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th March)
More of us playing Unicorn Overlord than I'd have guessed.
Re: Opinion: The Best Tony Hawk Game Is Grinding Back, And I Can Only Hold My Breath
I played the mess out of Tony 4, but I've barely touched Tony 3. I'll have a lot of new stuff to experience when this remaster comes out.
Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Officially Revealed For Nintendo Switch
Tony 4 had a classic mode that let you play levels with a 2-minute timer, but I hope this remake has the free-roam mode, too.
Also hoping Eddie returns as a skater, but I'm not holding my breath.
Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Release Date Leaks Ahead Of Reveal
For $130, I fully expect the collector's edition to include a cloning kit so I can grow my own Tony Hawk.
Re: Opinion: Nintendo, Let Us Buy The Games Being Delisted From Switch Online
@tektite_captain Thought the same thing. Laying the hyperbole on thick.
Re: Anniversary: Nintendo Switch Launched On This Day Eight Years Ago
The garbage online play kept my ranking at a 9 instead of the 10 I'd like to give.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Pokémon Trading Card Game
Both are boring, but at least the NA one isn't covered in haphazardly placed text.
Re: Catch-Up Crew: Metal Gear Solid - "It’s Been A Long Time, What’s The Situation?"
MGS is still an unforgettable experience despite being kind of clunky to play. That's just how great it is.

Re: Mario + Rabbids Director Recalls "Harsh" Ubisoft Comment On 'Sparks Of Hope'
@-wc- I remember SSX doing really well because it was just about the only good game at the PS2's launch.

Re: Best Wario Games Of All Time
1 > 4 > Shake It > 3 > 2
Would probably put World and MoD at the bottom of I'd played them enough. VB would probably rank fairly high.
Re: Review: Wario Land 4 (GBA) - A Boisterous But Impeccably Designed Platformer
This game only got an 8? Shrug
Re: Star Fox-Inspired Space Shooter 'FUR Squadron' Is Getting A Switch 2 Sequel This Year
@IceClimbersMain So a SFZ remake would be a remake of a remake of a remake, right? :b
Re: Best Mario Sports Games Of All Time

Re: Nintendo President Reiterates Switch Online Will "Continue To Be Available" For Switch 2
Hard to score. The retro games are still great, and they've added some real bangers lately. But online play for modern games is really lacking.
I could've written the exact same comment about the Wii in 2006, huh?
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Wario World (GameCube)
Anything with Wario on it is a winner.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th February)
Resi 4 remake. Put it off for two years but it's finally time.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's GBA Library Next Week With Wario Land 4
Maybe the best game on the GBA app so far. I've been waiting for this so I could replay it.
Re: Opinion: With Forecasts Slashed (Again), Absolutely Everyone's Antsy For Switch 2 ASAP
Save it for the fall. Give me some time to play the games I own and to save my money.
Re: Talking Point: What Do We Actually Want From 'Mario Kart 9'?
Mechanical depth. Every Mario Kart since Double Dash has felt a little shallow.
Re: PSA: Trading Is Finally Live In Pokémon TCG Pocket, But It's A Real Headache
Trades restricted to friends? I'm fine with that.
Only trade cards of the same rarity? I'm out at that point. And never mind the rest that crap about "trade tokens" or whatever.
Glad I didn't bother downloading this app.
Re: Poll: So, Were You Accepted For The Nintendo Switch 2 Hands-On Event?
I'll play the Switch 2 when I have my own console firmly grasped between my hands.
Re: Mailbox: Switch 2 Caution, Unpopular Opinions, Easy Games - Nintendo Life Letters
"Old Nintendo" is the Wii U era? Huh?
Re: Opinion: The Hyped-Up New Pokémon TCG Set Is A Total Bummer To Open
I was always a player first and collector second with the Pokemon TCG, and this is why. Well, that, and playing the game is so dang fun.
Re: Balatro Dev Urges Fans To Buy More Indie Games As Title Hits 5 Million Units Sold
Haven't played Balatro, but I support this PSA. Indie games are where it's at these days.
Re: Nintendo Music Adds Another SNES Banger, Here's Every Song Included
This OST's amazing. Super Mario Kart: one of the greats.
Re: Best Lord Of The Rings Games, Ranked - Switch And Nintendo Systems
I can't complain. Hey, that's a first!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th January)
I'll finish Echoes of Wisdom for the second time (hero mode, with 100% completion) and then play Dragon Quest V mobile.
Re: 'Sonic Jam' Skin Is Now Free For All Owners Of Sonic X Shadow Generations
Man oh man I wish I had a copy of Sonic Jam. Anyone have a copy they'll give me?
Re: Nintendo's Share Price Dips Following Its Big Switch 2 Reveal
Short of a complete sell-off, you should never make any inferences based on one day's change in the value of a single stock.
Re: The OG Mega Man Is Getting The 'Hand-Drawn Game Guide' Treatment
@Zuljaras Sure. But I think that as AI becomes more sophisticated, so will our ability to detect it.

Shoot, I forgot this was coming out. All right, folks, this or the Suikoden collection? You can only choose one!
Re: Retro Staff Credits Removed From Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Forever Entertainment Confirmed As Devs
Not the choice I'd make, but calling it "dismissive" is a bit much.

Re: Poll: Are There Any Good Lord Of The Rings Games On Nintendo Consoles?
Both TTT and RotK on Gamecube are great games.
@jake1421 That LotR LCG is really pretty awesome. Incredible artwork on the cards, too.
Re: Rumour: Switch Virtual Console Was Apparently Nintendo's "Original Plan"
Who wouldn't want to buy the same games again for the fourth time? Right?
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Tops Rolling Stone's 50 Best Games Of All Time
Surprisingly solid top 10.
