I feel like it was probably designed with 1st-person in mind, considering the previous two entries. But I'll see which I prefer. Still have to play Village, though.

A few significant additions/enhancements to these games would go a long way to justify the price. They wouldn't have to be huge changes, either.

@The_Nintendo_Pedant Exactly. People here complain about the prices of Nintendo games because those are the games they care about.

Voice acting is the biggest addition? Shame. That's a pretty weak addition, and one that detracts from a game at least as often as it adds.

You're still getting an amazing game in FFT, though, so this is well worth checking out if you've never played it before.

My mom rented Bubsy II for me when I was a kid, and it made me cry. Not because I didn't like the game (I didn't), but because renting a game was a rare treat and I felt that the game had spoiled her kind act.

Is this necessary? The game's not that hard.

Thought about replaying it for years and the Silksong announcement finally got me to do it.

@jsty3105 TBH it means nothing on its own, because it's anecdotal. I just felt like saying something.

Funny, because I feel like I hardly know anyone who has one. Besides myself, I mean. But it was the same story for the first year of the Switch, as well.

@MSaturn Right. 15 million sales is incredible, and rare. There are issues with the games industry now, and plenty of stories of executives muddling a studio's creation, but to point to Team Cherry and say "every game's development should be like this" is simplistic. Team Cherry is in a privileged position.

Hollow Knight is the best metroidvania that doesn't have the word "Metroid" in the title that I've ever played. Silksong should be incredible.

Game is amazing. Can't believe I've only played it once.

I love it when awful games are included in collections like this. Gives me a chance to try something I'd never spend money on.

I like Superstars but it fell well short of what Mania 2 almost certainly would have been.

Critics' reviews of multiplayer games are worth very little.

I've mostly not been too bothered by the slow feed of new music to this app, but the lack of Switch 2 titles more than two months since the console's release is silly. I'm also getting impatient for certain soundtracks, like Super Mario 3D World and Yoshi's Woolly World.

Gonna squeeze Mario's cheek like his heavily makeup'd great aunt.

From the bit of the demo I played this looks like another fantastic game from YCG.

@hanleyforhire That's pretty much how I read it now. The only question is which part knew what, when. But as several people have pointed out, thus is Nintendo holding RTA to a legal requirement that likely will have no impact on their ability to use Nintendo games in the future, so it's nothing to get worked up about.

@progx They've been operating for years, though, with no issues. Rereading the article, it sounds like both parties were lax about the technical stuff until Nintendo recently noticed and decided to take action.

The way I read the article the first time, I interpreted this as a change of Nintendo's policy, or a decision to begin enforcing a pre-existing policy, since RTA had been operating as a legal entity since 2020 without Nintendo requiring permission. But that may not be the case. The article is scant on detail, and I don't read Japanese, so who knows.

@Sirko This event has been going on for years. I doubt Nintendo was unaware. Besides, Nintendo is the one who made the change in policy. It's their responsibility to notify those it affects. They did, but they could (and should, I think) have done so in a timlier manner.

Not necessarily opposed to requiring permission (there are all sorts of legal issues that I don't know the details of, I'm sure), but they should have given the organizers some advance notice.

@progx True. I'm just basing this on the fact that retailers got both SKUs on launch day, and the (I think justified) assumption that the MKW bundle was the more desirable of the two. That would lead to situations of the bundle selling out first and a customer being forced to spend more to get a Switch 2 and MKW separately.
