I asked for one of these earlier, but they had already sold out at my closest cineworld day one. The cashier joked that all the yoshis had been poached
Does this game have a single player mission mode style system like Transformed had? Where you go down branching paths completing different challenges and unlock characters that way?
I'd be picking up a physical if it wasn't a game key card, so my wallet is kind of relieved. Still got Metroid and Pokemon to finish anyway and haven't even started Cyberpunk
The end of an era. Played hours of competitive play in Pokemon Violet, hopefully Champions online is even better. Do we know what regulation is being used for this final season?
@chiptoon yeah you're definitely not the only one. I was very tempted by the Generations set of Switch 2, but with them all being game key cards I decided to go with PS5 version of Requiem. Just picked it up from Argos on my lunch break
This has gotta be one of the few 3rd party physical Switch 2 releases that isnt a game key card or 'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' right? Don't think there's many beyond Cyberpunk and Yooka-Replaylee.
The TV shows probably predate me, but I loved the DuckTales movie and A Goofy Movie as a kid so still kind of nostalgic for this era and tempted to pick this up
There being no dub is the killer for me. The English dub cast were so great in the first few Blazblue games, such a shame it stopped happening. Did the mainline game cast return for the 2024 Steam version? Or is just reused battle voices or something?
@EarthboundBenjy aww man I remember Rayman Gold. Had it on PC as a kid and being able to create your own levels was a really neat feature. I hope this release brings back as many features from across the different releases as well. Maybe throw a few extras in too
Guess I won't bother then, what a shame. I still have Octopath 2 to play anyway, plus Live A Live. Hopefully the Adventures of Elliot is a proper physical release at least, fingers crossed
That's a really fun sounding free update! I want to pick this game up and support it, but it would take a fully physical release to get me to so it's unlikely I'll ever play it. Got way too many games in my backlog to justify it otherwise
Enjoying it a lot and the music callbacks are awesome. Only complaint is there only being 1 lap per course, the first 2 of 3 laps is just getting to said course. Unless there is a way to change that in the settings?
Honestly I thought Animal Crossing was already included, but I guess it must have been one promised as a later update or something. Thought about getting one of these, but selection is a bit too limited
It actually does look sharper and looks like there is more pokemon on screen, maybe they improved the draw distance? I wonder if the choppy frame rate on pokemon in the distance will be improved too, because that often looks laughable on a regular Switch. Looking forward to being able to go to places like the lake and the frames stay stable
I'm loving this game on my PS5. If they release this on Switch 2 with the whole game on the card, not a key card release, then I'll be tempted to double dip
Going from 147 icons on Switch to 258 on Switch 2 had to be by design, each number has been incremented by 1, like the Switch 2 itself! Nice to see Fire Emblem and Pokémon options available now
Loved this game on 3DS. Not sure if I'll be double dipping with it being one of these game key releases though. Its a small enough game to fit on an actual game card and not need to be downloaded
@Diowine We can assume the joycon drift has been fixed or at least reduced. They wouldn't openly admit the original joycons were problematic in a big presentation like this
@countzero yeah same thing happened with me. I looked it up a few times over the day thinking it just hadn't been added in my region yet, but then looked at other Nintendo made apps and it was there to download
Happy for the Rhythm Heaven fans! I was thinking this would be a great time to get into the series before Switch 2 releases, but a 2026 release? Bizarre. I wonder if this means Switch 2 is out sooner than we realise, because there's not much coming soon at the moment right?
Glad they're still adding themes. Once they add a Donkey Kong theme or a Metroid one I'll bite, but really the game I'd love to see added most is Star Fox Adventures! I can easily imagine going to sleep to the Thorntail Hollow (Night) music, waking up to the morning variation and then the Sharpclaw battle music playing if staying in bed too long. But I acknowledge thats an unlikely pick
And this is why buying and owning is better. Yes, the streaming service is cheaper with all the games available, but if you only want to play online or only have a couple older games you'd choose to make time for then its not cheaper anymore. Better to pick and choose the few games that you know you will go back to long after Nintendo or anyone else decides its not to be played anymore
@rjejr I was thinking the same thing. Part of me thought the Xenoblade thumbnail was just a red herring to get people to click on the article, but nope, apparently its a brand new game 😄 I never got round to playing more than a few hours of the original release on my Wii U, so I'm going to try not to double dip, got what feels like a million games to play in my backlog
I love Donkey Kong, but have still got my Wii original version so not too fussed, especially with the newly added visual issues. Didn't get the Tropical Freeze port either, had recently finished the original Wii U release a second time. Not typically a fan of buying the same game multiple times unless there has been significant improvements, got other things in life to pay for
After Shadow being out of the spotlight for so many years I prefer to see him front and centre in the Western cover, rather than upside down in the Japanese one
Probably not. I picked it up when it originally released on Wii U and only played the first few hours of it. Enjoyed what I played and always meant to go back to it, but never did. Too many games, not enough time to play them, so if I double dipped it would probably happen again 😅 Might change my mind if they reveal a whole bunch of new stuff, otherwise I still plan to go back to my Wii U copy one day!
@Serpenterror Conker's Bad Fur Day was re-released through Rare Replay, unless you're talking about Nintendo re-releases specifically. The remake on the original Xbox was really good too, probably not as good as the original with some of those changes though even if it looks and plays great
@Magician agreed. If you go into it expecting survival horror you will be confused and disappointed. Its a great action game though, especially in co-op
I remember having Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters on GBA as one of my two first GBA games as a kid alongside Pokémon Ruby. Definitely spent more time on Pokémon, but Dungeon Dice Monsters was still pretty neat. I wonder if its included in this collection
The remake for Rescue Team is already awesome and available, but its still nice to be able to go back to the original. Not for me though as I don't pay for the NSO Expansion
Are there many differences between Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on arcade and the console versions? Extra characters, better framerate etc? Originally had it on the original Xbox and loved it and thinking of getting this collection of the arcade games
Wish I could be interested, but the value proposition isn't there in my opinion. Double the games from 13 to 26, add NES Remix-style remix missions and add online multiplayer then this would probably be a no brainer
Think I'll just stick with NES Remix 1 and 2 on my Wii U. I like the up to 8 players local play aspect, but there's a clear lack of content here for a package that costs more than the two NES Remix games combined. Maybe there's more they haven't revealed yet, but not impressed so far
Awesome. One of my favourite parts of this update are the new character portraits for some important NPCs that didn't have one before, like Mayor Regis, Allen and Mariana. Being able to actually rewatch all endings you've previously unlocked is great too
@LoneHammerBro its on sale on the eshop right now if you're interested. I picked this up at launch and loved it. Definitely miles ahead of the PS1 and PSP versions
@MarioBrickLayer or maybe a duology if its Ocarina of Time inspired, with the first movie ending on the cliffhanger of Link waking up as an adult in the Temple of Time. So many possibilities for a Zelda movie. I'm sure with Nintendo working closely on this we'll get something good
I appreciate the Dodge Ball reference in the opening paragraph, love that movie. Really looking forward to this Zelda movie and am actually glad they're taking a live action approach, though I don't expect we'll get any more information on it this year and definitely not from one of these meetings
I think they still have a chance at overtaking Sword and Shield too in a year or so, but we'll see. I initially held off on buying this for about a year due to all the issues, but they're just such fun games, definitely better than Sword and Shield for me. Hopefully next time Game Freak can sort out the performance issues and add voice acting
Delayed getting this game for almost a year because of all the issues, but now I've been playing it its a lot of fun despite those issues. Definitely a good evolution for the series, just hope the next one is less broken! Haven't touched the DLC yet so this will have to wait, still taking my time with the base game and playing other stuff
Watched the first 3 episodes of this earlier today and its really charming and well made. Looking forward to watching the last episode tomorrow morning with breakfast, shame its only 4 episodes long
