I just downloaded it, it's interesting. Definitely has more in it than you'd expect.
The timed stuff doesn't bother me since even with it timed most stuff still come quicker than in an actual Animal Crossing game. (I'm pretty sure fruit don't grow back in 3 hours in the main games)
Edit: I actually think I like this a lot more than Miitomo or Pokemon Go. I can see myself putting some time into this.
Battle Chef Brigade looks really cool, excited for that but I'm also interested in Owlboy and Dandara.
At one point I was interested in Yooka Laylee, but I feel like the ship has sailed on that now....I mean I'll be playing Odyssey next month I'll probably have my fill of 3D platforming for a while.
@shani I was at an office the other day (well it was more like a town house turned into a block of offices) and when I went to their toilet and they were using the back roll method. So people certainly do it.
I'd probably put it the front way if I was doing it....but I wonder how much difference it really makes. Seems like a really odd thing to have a strong opinion about.
@aaronsullivan It looks like a pretty solid line up of games. A lot of different genres and playstyles accounted for and most of them sound like games that have been received well on other platforms.
I'll likely get Golf Story at some point in the near-ish future. It looks really good. Unfortunately I'm picking up Danganronpa V3 tomorrow so that's going to suck up all my gaming time.
I'm probably going to wait a while and see if they end up releasing Crystal and get that instead.
I had Gold and then Soul Silver, so I think it makes sense to pick up Crystal if it becomes available. Plus....I got Yellow a few months ago and haven't finished it yet.
These are a little before my time (I started with the gameboy color/N64) so I've never had any interest in playing them.
I have played Ice Climbers on one of those 100 games TV consoles though....and didn't really like it. I'm pretty sure I've played this game one way or another at some point too and it really didn't do anything for me.
Somebody else mentioned this....but I think it's pretty weird for people to be comparing the portable experience of Doom to the home console experience on PS4 and XboxOne.
From what I can tell we only know about the performance for it in portable mode right? So wouldn't it make the most sense to keep comparisons to the PS4/XboxOne versions for the docked mode?
I'm in two minds on whether to pick this up. Since I played it already on PC.
Though I don't think I picked up any of the expansions or extra content, so if this version has everything packed into it I guess it may be worth buying again.
Another reason I'm unsure is that I don't know how I'd get the time to play it alongside Breath of the Wild, Odyssey and Xenoblade 2. So many awesome (and big) games coming out.
I know people will say that the reason for this is less competition on the eShop...but I wonder if it's also because Indies represent a lot of what's important to Nintendo. (and it's fans)
I mean speaking for myself I feel like Nintendo and Indies have a lot in common in the sense that they march to the beat of their own drum and they often create games that are colourful and different. So I wonder if Nintendo fans are more likely to reward games like that?
I bet they'll end up dedicating a segment to a major Switch update, something like virtual console or (perhaps more likely) an update involving themes or other customization options.
It's also the day I'm hoping to get a Switch, so that's a funny coincidence for me.
I feel like the selection of games on offer and on the horizon is already very strong, at least to my tastes. (of course I do hope to see more 3rd party support come 2018)
Good news. Though I'm not sure how interested I am in it....I guess I'll look at a few gameplay videos. Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption would be more appealing.
I'm hoping to finally get my hands on a Switch next week. The place I have in mind has 5 of them currently....and they said they only sold 1 of them within the last week so I should be set.
Better to get it now because once Odyssey hits I bet it'll start getting harder to get a Switch again.
Personally I'd prefer games like this to something like Call of Duty.
Don't get me wrong, I know a Call of Duty game would mean more for the Switch in terms of sales/attention....but you're asking for what we "want" and as someone who's a part of the "we", I'm telling you my preference.
Edit: I just checked and you're probably talking about Overwatch? I'll admit I would prefer to see Overwatch.....but I don't see why that means we can't have indie games like this too.
I think what they meant is that they treat these Pokemon as living creatures, not that they're necessarily based off living creatures to begin with. So whether they're a lion or a magnet, they've still got to function as part of the Pokemon worlds ecosystem.
It's a fantasy ecosystem but it's still an ecosystem.
@Pikachupwnage Yeah, getting a direct focused on just one game can be pretty hit and miss. I feel like the Arms direct had the benefit of the franchise being new, so it was more exciting to me.
I don't know how I feel about this, I might just check it out afterwards.
I read a review saying the story was really predictable and nothing new...but then I kinda expected from the style of the game that it would be like that.
I got Fantasy Life and I never finished it (even though it was enjoyable)....so I can't really justify going near this. (especially when I'm saving up for a Switch)
I played the demo but there wasn't anything about it that made it seem like a "must have" game. I don't feel like the demo really sold the game all that well. (The best part was that musical rolling object that was in the oasis, it gave me a chuckle)
I definitely prefer the demos that let you start at the beginning and then carry your save over to the full game. I think they do a much better job at pulling you in.
When I think about progress in video games I think more about more intelligent A.I and the ability to create deeper more complex systems more easily.
For example have you ever heard of a game called Dwarf Fortress? It's not an easy game to get into, I've only played a little of it but what I've seen makes me think it's a game ahead of it's time.
It basically creates an entire world with an entire history, factions, events, nations, monsters and thousands (maybe more) of unique named citizens all with their own histories. I'm probably doing it an injustice with my short description though.
Of course the graphics are all ascii, which is why it can be so detailed.
Not really mind blowing. Gold & Silver on virtual console is nice but the only reveal that really interests me are the Ultra Sun & Moon games. I wonder if we'll hear more about them at E3 or would that be too soon?
I'm interested in how it said it's an alternate story. So maybe it's not really a sequel but more like an alternative version of Alola that developed differently. I wonder if that would mean new Alola forms?

Re: Nintendo Gamers Prefer Using Switch As A Handheld Rather Than Docked
I'm probably not alone in using docked mode more for games like BoTW and Odyssey but using handheld mode more for something like Golf Story.
I think I use docked mode more often though.
I feel like this poll is a bit shaky though since it doesn't say which mode people use more among those who use both modes frequently.

Re: Yoshiaki Koizumi Says Non-Traditional Nintendo IPs Are Bound For Switch Next Year
I said it before, I'll say it again. Eternal Darkness 2 please.
(also another Golden Sun game)
Honestly I feel like F-Zero is a traditional Nintendo IP, it's just not a common one....but it definitely feels "traditional".
Re: Nintendo is Reportedly Eager to See More Mature Games on the Switch
Start with Eternal Darkness 2.
Thank you.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - The Triumphant(?) Return
I just picked up Golf Story, so I've been playing that.

I say probably because at the moment we just have one of those toilet paper stands that you stack the toilet paper on. Sort of like this: http://cdnll.touchofclass.com/images/xxl/X762-001.jpg

Re: Nintendo Download: 21st September (Europe)
I might go for Thimbleweed Park. It's kind of a stretch since Danganronpa V3 is coming out next week and I want to play that too, so I'm not sure.
Not to mention I'm still playing Breath of the Wild.

because it sounds better?
As for the game, I don't know if I'll pick it up.....but I'm glad Metroid fans have been rewarded for their patience.
Re: Get Ready for a Nintendo Direct on 13th September
Sounds promising with it being 45 minutes.
I bet they'll end up dedicating a segment to a major Switch update, something like virtual console or (perhaps more likely) an update involving themes or other customization options.
It's also the day I'm hoping to get a Switch, so that's a funny coincidence for me.
Re: Poll: Six Months of the Switch - What Do You Think of Nintendo's Console Hybrid?

It's silent majority vs vocal minority. Nothing new there.

Re: Pokémon The Movie: I Choose You Gets New Teaser, With Giveaways Also Confirmed
I'll probably go for the Hoenn Pikachu, I've always liked that hat more than the others.
Re: Miiverse Could Live Forever Thanks To A Fearless Web Developer
Sounds cool. I hope he succeeds.
Re: Reminder: Don't Miss The Flight Vs Invisibility Splatfest In Splatoon 2
Invisibility so I can peek at design documents for upcoming games.
Then I can be the leaker everyone hates.
Re: Floor Kids Will Start the Beat on Switch This Holiday Season
Not my thing but I can appreciate it for being a rhythm game. Aside from Voez I don't think rhythm fans have much to go for on the Switch.
Re: Yono and the Celestial Elephants Shines Onto Switch as a Console Exclusive This October
This is definitely the most adorable game I've seen in a while.

Re: Game Freak Director Discusses Evolution of Pokémon Designs
I've gotten back into drawing Fakemon recently. It's actually encouraging to know even Game Freak struggle with designing evolutions sometimes.
Re: Mayo Wins in Splatoon 2's Battle of the Condiments
I like both of them, but I prefer mayonnaise really. I put it on things a lot more often.
To be honest I'm surprised so many people here seem to dislike mayonnaise, I thought it was relatively well liked.
Re: Splatoon 2 Maintains UK Momentum as Miitopia Makes Chart Debut in Top 10
@olrodlegacy I think you're underestimating the charm Miitopia has...
While Hey! Pikmin! is seen by a lot of people as a second rate outing for one of Nintendo's bigger IPs. People want the real deal I guess.
As for Brain Training, I feel like that series hey day is long since gone. It was at it's best during the DS era.
Re: Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan is Coming to the Nintendo Switch
I feel like the people who get mad at 8-bit indies are just making their blood pressure rise for no reason. They're not going anywhere.
Re: Monkey Island Creator's Thimbleweed Park Is Coming To Switch
I love how a bunch of games on my Steam wishlist are already starting to show up on the Switch.

Re: Review: RPG Maker Fes (3DS)
I downloaded the player last night. I guess it's too early to expect anything other than short demos right now though.
The first game I downloaded was rated 5 stars, but I wasn't that impressed with it.
I'll probably keep it on my 3DS and load it up and month or two from now to see what's there.
Re: Beleaguered UK Retailer GAME Blames Lack Of Switch Stock For Profit Warning
Why does it seem like businesses these days are so eager to blame everyone but themselves when they start to struggle?
It's almost like running a successful and profiting business is supposed to be difficult. Who knew?
Re: Mystery And Horror Adventure The Count Lucanor Is Coming To Switch
I've had this on my Steam wishlist for quite a while now. Looks like it could be good.
So maybe I'll pick this up when I get a Switch.

Re: Square Enix Has Been 'Tenacious' in Ongoing Conversations About Final Fantasy XIV on Switch
I'd be way more interested in seeing the remake of Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 15 making it on to the Switch.
It's probably not possible, but it's still what I'd care more about.
Re: Feature: Ever Oasis Producer Koichi Ishii On Evolving from Classics Like Secret of Mana

I played this a while back. I really liked it, if you're into adventure/point and click type games you'll be right at home with this.
Re: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions Revealed for 3DS at E3
@Giygas_95 Well they've already announced two games this way. They already revealed the 3DS Metroid game during the treehouse.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey to Launch on 27th October
Do you think they'll announce a Switch bundle with Odyssey included?
By the way are there any Switch bundles yet? Seriously it would be such a smart move to bundle it with the Switch for Christmas.
Re: A New Pokémon RPG Has Been Confirmed For Development For Nintendo Switch
I hope it's gen 8 to be honest. After Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon I think I'll be well prepared to move on.
Plus a new generation of Pokemon on Switch could mean huge things for the console. That is if they can actually create enough stock.
I don't have a Switch yet either. I really hope they announce a bundle deal with Odyssey at some point.
Re: Thank Samus, Metroid Prime 4 Has Been Confirmed For Nintendo Switch
I don't know if I'll even get this game and it was the most exciting reveal for me.
I seriously need to play the original prime games...
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Pokémon Direct and Its Big Reveals?
Not really mind blowing. Gold & Silver on virtual console is nice but the only reveal that really interests me are the Ultra Sun & Moon games. I wonder if we'll hear more about them at E3 or would that be too soon?

Re: Sony Thinks You'll Buy A PlayStation 4 Alongside Your Nintendo Switch
I certainly won't. It'll be enough just to get a Switch.
and then maybe pick up a second hand PS3 to play Persona 5.
