@Nik-Davies To be fair in the past they've announced Pokemon games (like ORAS) in a direct and then gone into more detail on them at E3.

I could totally see them giving a brief look at a Switch game in this direct and have more information for it at E3.

@Pokefanmum82 The Pokemon company are kind of their own machine though. They're not tied to Nintendo at the hip. I could see what I mentioned above happening though.

I'd love to see A Hat in Time on the switch, I've been following that game for a while. There's plenty of high quality indie games being developed out there, Nintendo just needs to embrace them when they knock on the door. I mean a flood of games coming to your system doesn't have to mean shovelware.

I feel like saying Nintendo doesn't want to go back to shovelware awfully strange though considering the Switch launched with that broomstick flying game, what was that if not shovelware?

@SM4SHshorts If they're so forgettable they can't be much of a favourite though.

I feel like it would have been better to just have a text field that suggested characters based on what you typed (basically just the other field and nothing else), that way nobody would get an advantage from being more visible.

Golden Sun's Isaac for me, that hasn't changed.

If I had more than one vote I'd probably go for Banjo & Kazooie and Phoenix Wright though.

It looks to me like they're the same character. You can see the details on their body look the same.

I'm betting you fight the guy first and then when you defeat him he summons the head with the six arms.

The big question is will this guy be an unlockable fighter?

I really love Helix...and his reveal was the first time I was really interested in Arms. I also really love his theme tune.

I feel like the roster is pretty strong across the board design wise though.

I've been interested in this for a while but haven't picked it up on PC. I might go for it when I (hopefully) get a Switch later in the year.

The only Fire Emblem games I've played are Awakening and the one for the GBA. (when they gave out those Ambassador games) Even though they were enjoyable they didn't really blow me away. I couldn't really get into or care about Awakenings story for some reason.

I'm just wondering if this would be different since it's supposedly the "black sheep" of Fire Emblem.

Doesn't Arms come out 2 days after E3? Maybe they think it would be too late to make some major reveal for the game? I could see them focusing more on Arms in the treehouse segment.

I know he has his own racing games but I don't think that should stop them from adding him. It's more money for them right?

In a way I feel like it'll be hard for this presentation to let me down, since I'm already excited to see more of Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. That's even before they announce new games we haven't heard about yet.

I know more 3rd parties are important and I would of course want to see this on Switch, but personally I can't think of a AAA third party franchise I'd be less interested in than Call of Duty.

Give me Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Overwatch, The Witcher, Grand Theft Auto and so on, but COD doesn't do anything for me.

I was so sure when I saw this title that his full name was going to be "Ganondorf Ganondorf".

2 on 2 mode looks like it could be super chaotic.

I don't like when they show off entire fights though, somehow the commentator makes it sound more boring than it looks.

I got the original Splatoon on Wii U and while it was fun it wasn't something I'd come back to again. I'm not really fussed about Arms either. (Although I guess we don't know that much about it, so I can't say for certain)

Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are the most interesting to me. Mario Kart and Splatoon look fun but I don't feel like I loved the Wii U versions enough to justify getting them again.

I haven't got a switch yet so I'm hoping to get one around the time Odyssey comes out....I'll more than likely pick up Breath of The Wild eventually as well.

Wasn't Stars supposed to be coming this year? This listing would be way too late for that.

I could see it being for gen 8 though, I mean these games don't just pop into existence, they have to be worked on for a number of years.

Nintendo are being pretty tight with the development kits though aren't they? (the developers of Axiom Verge can't get one apparently)

I don't think it's a great strategy on Nintendos part, but I don't think this means there's a lack of interest. (at least not one as stark as 3%)

Nintendo need to be way way more proactive about courting indie devs though. (and third parties but that's another story) It's really not that hard to find awesome indie games being developed if you know where to look.

Not a huge amount of hype for me since I can't afford one....but I am definitely invested in seeing what games get announced for the Switch going forward.

I'm hoping they'll release a Switch bundled with Super Mario Odyssey when it comes out.

I hope this just means they're going to take a more active role in curating and assessing indie games and that it won't just be a case of "we're not familiar with you (the developer), so you can't develop for Switch".

I would think most people mainly want to see games like meme run or that zombie runner game getting the boot.

I'm not gonna lie, I would have been totally down for an alien invasion in Zelda.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE The soda one would probably have required more extensive research on their part. The cow milking game is one of the more well known mini-games. Who needs research when you're just looking for a sensationalist piece?

They always say that X system won't replace previous Y system though.

and sure that ends up being true for about a year or so but it's never a long term thing.

@Ryu_Niiyama During the Treehouse event they said the game was for 1 to 4 players.

This looks fun, although I think the Treehouse live made it look a lot more appealing since you could see the fun the people playing it were having.

I have mixed feelings about Fire Emblem. I sorta like it....but the story in Awakening was kinda lacking. (I didn't pick up Fates, so I guess a Switch version with everything together would be appealing)

I'm more excited for this possibly being a sign of more directs before the release of the Switch, since it was announced so soon after the Switch stream.

Something that kinda bothers me about the subscription fee for online, outside of concerns about the price is the free game you get each month.

From what I can tell other online subscriptions (on PS4 & XboxOne) you get both new and old games for free each month....and you get to keep them.

Free Nes and Snes games you only get to play for a month seem pretty limp in comparison. Especially when you consider some of them will probably be big names you've already played on Virtual Console before. It doesn't seem like much of a sweetener when stacked up against what PS4 and Xbox are offering.

I thought it was good but it could have been a lot better.

I didn't see anything that would convince me to purchase it day one. I was kinda hoping for some sort of flurry of awesomeness that would make it a no brainer to buy straight away but that didn't happen. It seems like they're really relying heavily on Zelda for launch day.

The one game that (surprisingly to me) could have made me attempt to buy at launch was Super Mario Odyssey. I haven't seen as interesting a Mario platformer since Sunshine. Too bad it's not coming until Winter 2017.

I was actually wondering near the end of the presentation if Breath of the Wilds was pretty much a lock for being a launch title since at that point 1, 2 Switch was the only Nintendo game announced for launch.

I kinda wish Super Mario Odyssey was closer to launch date though. This one has me more excited than I ever was for Galaxy.

I feel like the only hope we have of completing one of these challenges is if they either majorly reduce the amount required or they do an egg hatching one. I bet that would go well with all the competitive breeding going on.

I'm fairly excited but at the same time I'm not getting carried away. I hope they come out with some surprising and exciting games (because that's the most important part imo) and blow us all away but I'm in two minds whether that's likely or not...

It's pretty ridiculous to expect one game (an indie at that) to be a "system seller", even games like Super Smash Bros, Splatoon and Mario Kart weren't "system seller" enough to sell the Wii U to the masses.

I'm glad to see this coming to the Switch, more of this please! The Switch needs as varied a library as possible, as early as possible to encourage sales...which will encourage more third parties to jump on board.

What kind of relationship do Nintendo and Rockstar have? This makes it sound like they have a very poor relationship.....but I can't think of why that would be.

Meh. There was a game I was hoping to be on sale but it's not. Smaller amount of games than I thought there would be really.

Would it kill them to just put all of their (as in Nintendo owned) games on sale for one day?

It's not really something I'd be willing to pay around €200 to fix. Especially with the 3DS nearing the end of it's lifespan.

At least we shouldn't have this problem with the Switch.

It's going to be weird playing game franchises that have been relying on dual screens for so long.

Is touch control supposed to gone as well? If so game series like Rhythm Heaven are going to have a rough time...

I'm guessing dual screen games will probably still be on the virtual console, but they'll probably just have both screens on the tv screen or something like that. Although if touch control is gone too then that'll be a problem.

I guess graphically I shouldn't expect any big leaps but you could definitely have fooled me into thinking they were just remasters of Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon.

I'm wondering what this means for Smash Bros.....there was that rumour about a remastered port coming to the NX after all.

I guess I'm a bit pessimistic.
