@Sligeach Yeah that's not going to happen. Amiibo will be a part of this game. Although it'll probably just give you special gear/badges or something. Probably nothing that would interfere with the game too much.
I hope it's like the first two games. As in I hope it has partners, original characters (and not just toads) and a good story. (I don't expect a complicated story or anything, just an endearing adventury one )
I feel like focusing on only Mushroom Kingdom characters is fine for the main series games, but I think Paper Mario has always been at it's best when it's been as inventive and wacky as possible.
I remember I could never get Zack & Wiki to work when I picked it up first. The motion controls on the remote wasn't responsive (it might have been a lighting issue) so I had to return it. Strangely the remote worked fine with every other game.
So I never got to play it even though I was interested. To be honest I'm not sure I'm as interested now as I was back then.
I'm kinda tempted to pick up one of the 2ds bundles if I see them.
Then get the other two games on my original 3ds so I could trade between them. It would be pretty awesome to have a completed pokedex in the original games. (even if it is on virtual console)
Gen V is probably my favourite for Pokemon designs after gen III. There's still loads of interesting Pokemon from that gen I'd like to use that I haven't gotten around to yet.
On one hand I can appreciate when people say that adding more characters wouldn't necessarily make the game better.....
but a lot of the appeal (at least outside the competitive side) is seeing new characters joining the fight. I think it's unavoidable that people will want more characters, doesn't matter if that's something that annoys or disappoints you.
I mean I didn't see any dramatic reveal trailers for game modes or stages or new gameplay mechanics in any of the directs. Did you?
I'm not really sure where they can go from here, but I agree with some other people saying they should create an updated version for the NX or some kind of expansion. I guess they could (and probably will) go back to the drawing board....but they'll have their work cut out for them I think. It's definitely a conundrum.
I'm happy that Final Fantasy got representation. (even though Cloud isn't personally one of my favourite FF protagonists, I still picked him up and his moveset is pretty satisfying)
I'm not sure about Corrin really. They're the kind of character that I may very well end up loving for the moveset but not so much the actual character. The moveset looks very creative though. I think I'm neutral overall.
Bayonetta is awesome though, she was in my top five characters I wanted to see added to Smash. She fits into the game so well, I don't care what people say about being too mature. Her moves just scream "put me in Smash!". I thought as much when I first played her games last year.
My least favourite generation. I appreciate that it introduced WiFi trading and some other features but I felt the Pokemon it introduced were kind of bland overall. It took ages for most of them to finally start growing on me. (I'm talking during the 5th and 6th gens here)
Not to mention I didn't find Sinnoh overly interesting to explore.
That's definitely a good thing. I think the Wii U was hurt a lot because it had an image problem. For the first year or so people just thought it was an upgraded Wii.
I don't see a problem with there being tons and tons of Pokemon.
You don't HAVE to be familiar with all of them. Of course some fans will know all of them, but some won't and that's fine too. You don't need to know every Pokemon to enjoy the game.
@Utena-mobile
I didn't encounter it myself, I think it was something that only came up if you saved in a particular puzzle room. So I just always saved during text/story segments and it turned out fine. (actually more specifically I time travelled back to a particular story segment at the start whenever I wanted to save, just to be safe and consistent)
I'm not that skilled at Fire Emblem (or at least I hate letting my characters die so I'd be constantly save scumming), so I don't feel like I have a choice if I do decide to pick up this game. Birthright is supposed to be the easier of the two right?
Limiting how much people can post on Miiverse might be a good thing though....maybe it'll encourage people to make better quality posts.
I never post to my activity feed so the changes won't bother me, whenever I post to Miiverse (which isn't that often) I just post it directly in the community section.
I don't mind early access myself.....but your experience with it is heavily reliant on how careful you are and how much you're willing to put up with. I've bought some early access titles that were still great experiences even in an early state....and it can be nice to involve yourself in a community around a game that's still developing.
It's not the kind of thing people should be getting into if they don't have a tolerance for bugs and issues. It should be obvious but it's also not something you should get into if you're uncomfortable playing games in an incomplete state.
That said I feel like Early Access is something that only really makes sense on the PC platform. I feel like having Early Access on consoles increases the danger of the idea being abused.
While I do love innovation. Sometimes I think it can be a double edged sword. If you're just innovating for the sake of innovating I don't think that's any good. It should be something that improves on the existing formula.
Otherwise you're better off sticking with what already exists.
I'm a big Persona fan so I'm definitely interested in this. I love how those games go from day to day and they fight monsters while also trying to live their life.
It does seem a bit sweeter than the typical Persona games, but this is Atlus. I'd be surprised if it didn't eventually go to a dark twisty place.
There's a number of "Not for me" and some "Maybe" as well for me.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is my only must have. After that it's a want for the Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem crossover and a maybe for Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Legend of Zelda, Fatal Frame. Fire Emblem Fate, Happy Home Designer (Treehouse really helped push this one for me) and Yokai Watch.
@JumpnShootMan It's probably because there's still hope in it.
If you see gameplay footage that you don't like, it's already over. It's easier to form an opinion on something you can see clearly and that goes both ways.
You can't really form a reasonable opinion on something that's vague. Other than complaining that it's vague.
I've always thought "entitled" was a really poor excuse to try and invalidate people's criticism. It's just a buzz word.
We're customers at the end of the day but for better or worse we're also Nintendo fans. If people don't like what they see, then they should be allowed to say so, just as much as people who love something can gush about it.
Don't forget these products that are being shown off are things Nintendo are expecting us to buy, with money.
@Dizzard Admittedly it was mainly the mountains and such that stood out to me. So I guess the graphics isn't really something to worry about right now.

Re: FreezeME Has Been Approved for a Wii U Release by Nintendo of America
Of the 3D platformers I've seen pass through Kickstarter this is probably one of my least favourites.
A Hat in Time, Yooka-Laylee and Lobodestroyo look more impressive to me,
Re: Zack & Wiki and Super Mario Advance 4 Look Set for Nintendo Download Update in North America

Re: Splatoon's Next Splatfest in North America is All About Time Travel
@GoldenGamer88 If you traveled to the future (assuming it was one way) then there wouldn't be any records of your death. Just your disappearance.
Personally I'd be more interested in going to the future.
Re: Feature: A Pokémon Retrospective: Generation 5 - 2010 to 2013
Gen V is probably my favourite for Pokemon designs after gen III. There's still loads of interesting Pokemon from that gen I'd like to use that I haven't gotten around to yet.
Re: Another Fighter Character for Pokkén Tournament Will Be Revealed Next Week
Hawlucha makes too much sense. I don't know why they haven't made it in yet.
Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2016
Zero Time Dilemma would be my pick from the list. Loved the first two games.
Although if Ace Attorney 6 releases in 2016 that would be my absolute number one choice.
After that the virtual console release of Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow looks cool.

Re: Bayonetta Confirmed as New Challenger in Super Smash Bros.
I swear when I saw Pit at the start of the trailer I thought Sakurai was going to add Light Pit or something. I was horrified.
Bayonetta is so so much better. (She was in my top 5)
Still mourning the lack of Isaac though.
Re: Feature: A Pokémon Retrospective: Generation 4 - 2006-2010

Re: Eiji Aonuma Talks Linkle's Origins and Appearance in Hyrule Warriors Legends
I guess in the world of video games having more than one of a certain type of family member is redundant.
Re: NX Won't Be The Next Version Of Wii Or Wii U, Says Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima
That's definitely a good thing. I think the Wii U was hurt a lot because it had an image problem. For the first year or so people just thought it was an upgraded Wii.
Re: Review: Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (3DS)
@empsolo
That is interesting. I tend to trust Destructoid reviews more than other reviews, I feel like they're more in line with my own opinions.
Re: Review: Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (3DS)
I don't know what to think about this one. I really enjoyed the first two games but Gates to Infinity was just really blah overall.
Re: Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash Fail to Chart in the UK
Doesn't seem that surprising. They were both pretty unremarkable games.
(although it's not like the general public usually agrees with me on stuff like this )
Re: The Next Nintendo Direct is on 12th November
The first thing that popped into my head was "THAT'S TOMORROW!"
As if they were going to announce a direct that was still weeks away....
Re: Apparent Confirmation Emerges of Shovel Knight for Super Smash Bros., Denied in Vain By Yacht Club Games
I guess that means we're getting Chibi Robo too.

How about:
Turtles Vs. Tortoises
Re: Reminder: There's Only One More Week Left To Vote In The Super Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot
Isaac from Golden Sun has gotten my support.
I also support Inklings, Chibi Robo, Banjo Kazooie and Bayonetta though.
(also I kind of tangentially support K Rool just because I like his fanbase)
Re: Talking Point: Star Fox Zero's Delay Could Be The Final Nail In The Wii U's Coffin
Xenoblade Chronicles X is still AAA though. Just because it may not be a hugely popular one doesn't change that.
Nothing has really changed for me since I was never interested in Starfox Zero to begin with.
Re: Ace Attorney 6 Confirmed to be Headed to 3DS
Yay!
Two ace attorney games on the way. (hopefully) I can't get enough of this series!
Re: Flowers Will Apparently Factor In The Future Of The Pokémon Series
Mega Sunflora here we go!
Re: Collectors Rejoice, Rare amiibo Figures Are Getting Restocked
I might pick up a Villager if I see one in stores.
Also I really wish they'd do another run of Shulk Amiibo that aren't exclusive.

Re: Editorial: Paper Mario is 15 Years Old Today, and Provides a Reminder of Nintendo's Wonderful Whimsy
I feel old because all I can think of reading this is "Ah, the good ol days".
Modern Paper Mario doesn't excite me at all. Mario & Luigi feels like it's on a downward slope too. I'm sad.
Re: Vote For The Next Character To Appear In Disney Infinity
I like Mabel......but my vote had to go to Ariel.
Not that it makes much difference since Mabel is curb stomping it.
Re: Nintendo President Satoru Iwata Passes Away Aged 55
It's had some time to sink in but even so....
I was just thinking we'll never see him presenting a direct ever again.
R.I.P Iwata
Re: Poll: Does Nintendo's Drive Towards Multiplayer Gaming Appeal to You?
I like some multiplayer experiences like Smash Bros or Splatoon, but I wouldn't want to see everything become a multiplayer focused game.
There's room for diversity.

I think it would be really cool if they made octolings playable through dlc. Would add some extra flavour to the game.
Re: Masahiro Sakurai Confirms That Recent Super Smash Bros. DLC Additions Weren't From the Fan Ballot
If he's focusing on fan service that can only mean good things for Isaac, so long as he gets enough votes to make an impression.
Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Retail Games of 2015 - Summer Edition
Easily Xenoblade Chronicles X.
To be honest the only other game in that list I have an interest in is Fatal Frame. I'm not sure if I'll get it...

That's one thing I really like about also being a PC gamer. There are so many options you don't need to rely on promises from certain developers.
Re: Satoru Iwata Didn't Apologise For Nintendo's E3 Digital Event, Says Reggie Fils-Aime
Yeah I was really surprised when I saw that. I don't think they'd apologize for anything.
I don't really believe that they've heard anything though.
Re: Poll: How Excited Are You About Nintendo's E3 Games?

Re: First Impressions: Our Maiden Flight In Star Fox Zero Prompts Mixed Emotions
I thought the graphics looked pretty poor during yesterdays presentation as well.
I mean I'm no graphics buff but the textures look like they came from a N64 game.
Re: Iwata Vows To Listen To E3 2015 Digital Event Feedback And "Work To Better Meet Your Expectations"
Maybe it was too much to expect after the awesome presentation they had last year....but it was very underwhelming this year.
Nothing came close to hitting the mark for me. (I'm not a Star Fox fan, if I was I'm sure I'd have been excited about it)
