Yeah, considering Switch games rarely drop in price, I’m now debating if it’s not just better to get an OLED Steam Deck.

Don’t give me hope again, I’ve moved on.

Was expecting Odyssey 2 but this is pretty much the second best thing.

10/10 Direct

Bloodborne is in my top 5 of all times, so if this was the only game at NS2 release, I’d still insta get the console.

Finally, Wind Waker and Twillight Princess, despite not being the remasters.

Nintendo has strict Direct policies (even for in-house stuff).
All Direct shown material has to be running on the console itself.

One of the worst Directs I’ve seen, especially considering this is what was supposed to pension the Switch before focusing on the successor.

Uninteresting Java games, JRPGs, typical farming games, games that we have already know without dates of release…

Even a Prime 2&3 remasters wouldn’t save this slog of 35 minutes.

You can develop this very easily, it all depends the country you're from and Nintendo's legal enforcement in such.

You can overclock to values where 900p or even 1080p becomes easily available. Sure, it will cut the battery life in half but man, I'd love to see Metroid Dread 1080p60 OLED on that little device.

Nope. I have a modded OLED and I get PSX, Dreamcast and PSP emulators. Plus I can mod games and also try “demo” versions to decide whether I want to buy a game or not.

Switch 2 will be for exclusives and demanding third parties only.

I'm all up for what Valve is doing

3 tier and let the crowd chose

Basic tier: LCD with 128GB
Mid tier: OLED and 256GB
High end: Better coating, maybe some extra accesories and 512GB or a 1TB.

I just don't want to get a boring LCD panel knowing an OLED refresh will come out within 3 years. We are past that, Nintendo.

I just got 1.5TB for 80$. Get 2 and you’re good for the whole gen, it’s not like anyone needs to play 3TB worth of games at a time.

My OLED currently has all the available RE titles (even RE2 and RE3 classic with duckstation), outside the joke that is the cloud versions.

Proper ports of RE2R, REVII,VIII and RE4R are a must. And add RE3R for 20$ somewhere down the line, it's a fun flawed action game.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and I’m having a blast. Onto world 3 and I’m surprised how much more demanding it is compared to Tropical Freeze… and that is for the better.

The Wii B&W artwork is still the best horror game cover of all times.

No issue with that. The game redefined open world games that were stuck in stereotypical formulas for decades. There’s personally better games gameplay wise (Odyssey, Portal 2, Metroid Dread) but the impact BoTW had is extreme.

I don’t even think I need more than 7”.
The OLED Switch screen is just the perfect sweetspot, just reduce the bezels even further.

I got a 1TB SanDisk for 58€ with slightly slower speeds. This is so overpriced it hurts.

The only folks criticising this are AMD fans that are stuck on poopoo FSR or folks that haven’t tried DLSS above 1080p. It’s literally indistinguishable at 4K native vs 4K quality on TVs and VERY hard on monitors. Even 1440p DLSS quality can look at times better than bad AA implementation and native.

Still, by revenue alone, it has obliterated the PS2.
DLC's, NSO, expansions, microtransactions and so on. It's not even close.

With the Steam Deck OLED existing, they have a pretty hard time. And when it comes out, Steam Deck 2 will likely be out.

Still, millions of people have full digital libraries of PS4 and PS5 games, with crossplay it could still be a decet success. Just buy and enjoy hundreds of games you already own. Like the Portal, where people thought it would be a big failure but its selling actually well. Now imagine that but no internet restrains.

I mean yeah, we just need a faster Switch with DLSS and some QoL stuff and they have a stratospheric hit.

I know dudes that have 3 grand PC set ups that only pirate. It's weird some people do not valuate the effort that goes into a digital product, but we can't change them, so just move on. Nintendo is still doing the best they ever had, so let's not think that poor N is hurting, even with piracy.

The Switch version of TTYD is easily number one, especially if you can overclock your unit and play it at 60fps, just like the original.

First you need a modded unit. V1 Switch units are super easy but all other models need a modchip installed. Try getting it done by someone, it is not for newcomers and needs soldering.
Then you need an app called sys-clk where you can overclock per game or globally.

Once again, a modded OLED Switch is just a different beast. I was playing Paper Mario TTYD at 60fps today and I just feel so more engaged than before at 30fps. Sure, battery life basically drops to half and it gets warmer, but for home gaming it's a worthy trade IMO.

The real pro dongle is overclocking. Minimal OC will let you have SM Odyssey at 720p (it's interlaced stock). Mild OC will get you 60fps in Luigi's Mansion 2. And high OC will get you actual 60fps in The Thousand-Year Door.

This is just a mere post-process effect, be aware.

I own a Switch, but there's certain titles I dupe, YES, I dupe from my own console and bought copy to play them later at 4K60 on my OLED monitor. While in handheld the graphics and perfomance is tolerable, docked mode is straight disgusting to look at in most games. That is where emulation comes handy. You don't know how well TOTK plays at 4K60 my dude, plus I can migrate save files.

They downgraded the graphics to Fallout 3 level.
Just release it on the successor...

Hope it doesn't leak like Brothership, which is basically sailing the seas right now.

With overclocking you can basically almost lock to 60fps these games. I can't imagine playing on stock values.
