So do, 150$ IPS monitors. Support is one thing, having the actual physical capabilities to properly display HDR, like local or per pixel dimming, is a different story.

This only applies to the docked experience on NS2 as that screen is incapable of proper HDR, so the NS OLED version will definitely have the punchier picture when playing portably.

81 on Meta is underwhelming for the standards of this franchise. Will still play it but it’s obvious this will have nothing on Dread.

Picture quality is on point. Now to just handle a steady 30fps experience.

The Netflix adaptation would’ve looked vastly different. Thank god not everything is dominated by Hollywood.

Let’s see:

• I play lots of horror and dark games, IPS cannot go low enough in brightness and dark scenes look grey. On the OLED the pixels turn of and it looks perfect
• Response times are objectively much worse. It’s especially bothersome in darkish 2D side scrollers like Silksong. You see ghosting because the panel can’t keep up
• Contrast is objectively worse and things don’t “pop up” as much as on the OLED
• Overall brightness is inferior
  The only advantage is 1080p, in everything else, it’s a worse screen, both objectively and subjectively.

Plus my NS OLED is overclocked and performs much better than a stock unit. Absolutely no need until we get a proper revision.

Yeah, coming from the NS OLED, I can’t go back to crappy IPS panels. But this way I’ll be much more hyped once more games come out along with the NS2 OLED revision, which is inevitable.

My 20 bucks Gamersir has hall-effect sticks, efectively being almost impossible to drift.

This is over 4x that and has regular stick we've had with the OG Pro controller from 8.5 years ago.

Tolerable on the NS2, but that costs less than half.

Not the best candidate for that greyish IPS with backlight bleed, but more games the better in the end.

I did…on Wii at release price. Now again on my enchanted Switch OLED…in a “particular” way.

60h in, it cracked my overall top 10 and is the best indie I've played.

I absolutely agree. People are just lazy and want everything to be handed to them.

There was a mob rush room in The Citadel I had no chances of winning. So I just kept exploring, upgraded my tools, my masks, my damage output and the amount of silk I could carry. Went there again after 5-7 hours and demolished all the enemies.

Instead of trying 100x over, just keep going and come back later. It really works.

What a pile of garbage did I just read. Only Nintendo makes fun games, hell…I must be bored as hell having 30h in Silksong at 240fps on my PC…or with Cronos at settings your new system will deliver 30fps ish 1080p.

No dude, there’s plenty of fun, gameplay centric games on PC, infinitely more than on NS1 and 2. You’re just unable to do some research I guess.

Sounds like someone that doesn't like the genre reviewed this one. It's a fantastic game and tension in gameplay is up there if you are not careful with resources. Big disagree here, it's at least an 8.5 after 5-6 hours of playtime.

Nein. I'd put BoTW WAY above the titles you mentioned, and I played them all.

Breath of the Wild is the best game. It changed the open world industry, for the better.

If this is true, we might have a problem in the future for games that heavily push bandwidth.

I took matters into my own hands and forced docked mode on my enchanted OLED Switch in handheld mode. Looks pristine, so it’s nice they're addressing it as it was extremely pixelated.

I will take these downsides ANY day of the week over a Switch 2 Pro Controller. It is insane to me that Nintendo is still using traditional stick mechanisms in 80$ controllers, while the third parties are two steps in front, (TMR is better than Hall). The magnetic YXAB are a must have for gamers with multiple consoles/PC.

Picking this one without question.

That doesn’t inspire confidence for docked mode, until we finally get VRR support that way. Oh well, guess it’ll be like with the OG Switch, with me playing handheld like 95% of the time.

This was majestic back in the day on iOS. Tried it without touch controls (MW1) and it breaks everything. I genuinely need an answer from the devs why touch support is not integrated.

Unlike World, this is a console seller. But I’m good until the OLED revision.

Take note Hollywood, this is good casting.

Swap B and A, X and Y depending where you play and the confusion finally ends.

Been playing like this on my enchanted OLED for years now. Just overclock and enjoy the hypothetical Switch Pro.

Plus there’s things you can’t do on NS2 yet. You can’t play Dark Souls at 60fps because it requires a user-made mod, but a modded Switch can.

I’d pay top dollar for a NS2 OLED mod. The OG display is the sole reason I haven’t bought the console yet.

Western publishers need a complete 360° when Nintendo’s CEO ranks 2 million a year but Activision’s 30. Disgusting.

CRTs are good, but NS2 ToTK hits much different on a 77'' OLED.

This is why you always buy something second-hand after testing it in person folks...

@NFrealinkling We both know 90% of people will use this to pirate, but a small percentage of people will just make legal digital back ups of their own games for convenience or for any other reason, and they should be legally fully covered to do that. So yeah, Nintendo shouldn't be allowed to perma ban from online anyone if they can't distinguish back upers and pirates.

And they’re right. As a 95% handheld gamer, I have no intentions of picking the NS2 until an OLED revision comes along. I have my beefy PC for docked play and my OLED NS1 will do just fine for 2-3 extra years.

It's such an optimised game. I can easily see 60fps on NS2.

FS games are approachable, you just don't pay attention. They don't do easy/medium/hard, they let you play online and gank a boss, splitting aggro and basically giving you an easy mode.

Also while I like the gameplay, ''easilly tops'' Elden Ring is quite the stretch. I can see it being on par but way, way behind Sekiro and Bloodborne especially.
