Nintendo still doesn't get it. This subject is like a hydra. Cut one head, several more appear. See how many forks they are of the banned Switch emulators. If you want you can start playing illegaly Mario Odyssey on PC in 5 minutes just by using Google.
They win battles, but the war against the internet and preservation is unwinnable. So much wasted money on lawyers.
Love reading these cultist comments. Some dudes truly worship a corporation
I, on the other hand, am glad we have options. Hardware emulation is technically not illegal provided you dupe your own games, and most EU countries, piracy is legal for personal use.
I love my OLED NS, but when I hook it to a 4K OLED games just looks ass, no way around it. That feeling when I can send my save files from ToTK to my PC and keep playing 4K60fps, is something wonderful. Also way above the capabilities of a NS2 and that screen should be banned.
NS2 is in danger always, but NS is now not on the radar with updates anymore, after Metroid Prime 4 I doubt we will ever see a game again that requires new firmware, so we are way safer.
I still wish we had a hardcore difficulty. It's either too easy on Standard or a meme on Insanity where you almost can't finish the inital asylum section with Grace without unlockable NG+ content, which makes it boring.
Professional in RE4 or Madhouse in RE7 were so, so much better.
As a fan of horror, action adventures, souls-likes and obviously a 90’s kid that spent countless nights late playing OOT, I almost couldn’t ask for more.
For total perfection it just needed 1-2 extra games that I like.
Wish they added a hardcore difficulty.
It’s either a breeze on standard or medieval torture on insanity (Rhodes Hill Grace).
Something in between would’ve been nice.
This is incredible news. The only reason I could swallow the original switch res was with a heavy overclocking and forcing docked in handheld mode...this is basically that but much easier.
I have nothing in general against E33, but winning best RPG over Kingdome Come 2 is a blasphemy. Just shows how these reviewers play only what the mainstream tells them to.
No, you keep making a fool of yourself. If Nintendo tells you the earth is flat, will you eat that? I gave you objectives technicalities that a panel MUST have to properly show HDR. Again, if you support something but you can’t physically show it in action, are you supporting it? Answer me honestly.
Apple 20$ EarPods support 24/196 High Res Lossless. Don’t they?
So do, 150$ IPS monitors. Support is one thing, having the actual physical capabilities to properly display HDR, like local or per pixel dimming, is a different story.
´´This also lacks the (excellent) HDR support of the NS2 Edition.´´
This only applies to the docked experience on NS2 as that screen is incapable of proper HDR, so the NS OLED version will definitely have the punchier picture when playing portably.
I play lots of horror and dark games, IPS cannot go low enough in brightness and dark scenes look grey. On the OLED the pixels turn of and it looks perfect
Response times are objectively much worse. It’s especially bothersome in darkish 2D side scrollers like Silksong. You see ghosting because the panel can’t keep up
Contrast is objectively worse and things don’t “pop up” as much as on the OLED
Overall brightness is inferior
The only advantage is 1080p, in everything else, it’s a worse screen, both objectively and subjectively.
Plus my NS OLED is overclocked and performs much better than a stock unit. Absolutely no need until we get a proper revision.
Yeah, coming from the NS OLED, I can’t go back to crappy IPS panels. But this way I’ll be much more hyped once more games come out along with the NS2 OLED revision, which is inevitable.
Contrary to most, I never found her performance good in RE VIII.
She always seemed to overreact like a spoiled child that didn’t get a brand new car from rich parents at 16yo. Just mindlessly screaming and trying too hard.
I absolutely agree. People are just lazy and want everything to be handed to them.
There was a mob rush room in The Citadel I had no chances of winning. So I just kept exploring, upgraded my tools, my masks, my damage output and the amount of silk I could carry. Went there again after 5-7 hours and demolished all the enemies.
Instead of trying 100x over, just keep going and come back later. It really works.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 System Update 23.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
They did it at last. Amazing news, I can’t imagine going back to a non VRR display after 10+ years gaming with it.
Re: Zelda 40th Anniversary Special Edition Switch 2 Console & Pro Controller Launch This October
I was going to wait the OLED revision but man, I’ll have to dip.
Re: Video: Here's What Nintendo's Revised Switch 2 Console Looks Like
Crazy that no one has yet tested if the screen is the rumored new IPS panel with faster response times
Re: Round Up: The Reviews For Onimusha: Way Of The Sword Are In
Can any third party rival Capcom at this point acclaim/amount of releases? I think not.
Re: The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Remastered Confirmed For Switch 2, Launching Next Month
Like I get it on NS2, but why is it launching on PC like something new? Didn't we get a remaster already with a full ray tracing suite?

Re: Review: Super Mario Sunshine (GameCube) - Not What We Expected, But It Still Shines
We all know this isn't a 9/10, writer included. But it has the Mario name in it so...yeah.

That orange bro is just doing what higher orange juice powers tell him to do. It does not matter.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Reportedly Considering A Switch 2 OLED Model
It’s about time
Re: Nintendo Will Stop Selling The Original Switch From February 2027
Best time ever to mod it then as firmware updates will be very rare after that and not needed at all for newer games.
Let me tell you, a modded Switch OLED is the best console I've owned and the second best gaming experience after PC.
The things it can do man, and I don't even condone piracy.

Full pricing on whats otherwise free when you upgrade your graphics card on PC.

Re: Rise Of The Tomb Raider At 60fps On Switch 2 Would Have Required "Serious Compromises"
Makes sense, the geothermal valley hub area is notoriously demanding, back in the days it crushed my Vega 64 GPU.
I suspect they would have to go like 240p with DLSS but at that point, even Nvidia's amazing technology is just not enough.
Re: Review: Gulikit Portable Dock For Switch 1 & 2 - A Light, Elegant Travel Companion
This + a 15'6 or 13'3 OLED portable monitor is some really good gaming.
Edit: Yeah, got it.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Might Be Updating The Switch 2's LCD Panel
Even Mini-LED would be better than what we have now but at this point, just give us a panel that has decent response times.
The blur in something like Silksong at 120fps is 2013 LCD monitor tier…
Literally the only reason I don’t own a NS2 is that screen.
Re: Talking Point: Have You Bought A 1TB Micro SD Express Card Yet?
I will own the biggest capacity there is once we can do magic on the NS2 :]

Re: Review: Brook Wingman P5S - Use (Almost) Any Controller On Switch 2
80 bucks lol
At that cash just grab a Switch 2 Pro controller bro
My 8bitDo dongle for the original Switch was like $20
What now, RAM prices affecting dongles too?😂
A joke in my eyes.

Well done, Nintendo.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Resident Evil Requiem?
5.5h in, it’s a 9/10 so far.
Exceptional level design that makes the rather linear castle Dimitrecu look so mid. It’s a big step above Village for the Grace sections.
Haven’t played much of Leon yet, but I think it’s way too hectic and RE6 like, I hope his gameplay slows down a little bit further away.
Audio, graphics (with RT and no film grain mod) look incredible on PC and can’t wait to get in on NS2 on a discount.
Re: Poll: So, Do You Prefer Hollow Knight Or Silksong?
Crazy to see HK actually winning. There's no contest here for me, Silksong is the superior experience in every single scenario.
Re: Pragmata Looks Awesome In New Switch 2 Trailer, Free Demo Arrives Today
Played it on PC and it looks stunning. Debating where to get it now but probably PC and Switch 2 on a very steep discount in 1-2 years.

Re: Metroid Prime 4 On Switch 1 Impresses Digital Foundry - "Nigh-Imperceptible Dips"
I'm running it 720p native (overclocking) on an OLED model and it has dethroned Luigi's Mansion 3 for me. Early PS4 graphics.

81 on Meta is underwhelming for the standards of this franchise. Will still play it but it’s obvious this will have nothing on Dread.

Well.

Re: The ROG Xbox Ally X Receives Glowing Reviews, But It's Still Pretty Pricey
A thousand bucks for IPS without micro dimming should be actually illegal in 2025.
Tolerable on the NS2, but that costs less than half.
Re: Rumour: Silent Hill 2 May Be Coming To Switch 2 As Its Exclusivity Window Ends
Not the best candidate for that greyish IPS with backlight bleed, but more games the better in the end.
Re: Poll: So, Did You Get Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 For Switch?
I did…on Wii at release price. Now again on my enchanted Switch OLED…in a “particular” way.
