BTW, does anyone know other good games in the genre, that do not start with the obvious capital letters ''R'' and ''E'', on Switch?

Sadly, 5&6 are in a terrible state. Huge drops in fps, even RE4 is not a steady 60fps, which is laughable.
Not to mention the cloud things they tried to pull on us, that’s meme material.

Mariko (OLED) Switch has HDMI 2.0 already, it’s just locked in the software. Maybe with homebrew we could get 4K working, with some massive overclocking.

Then again, this is getting software ready for Switch 2 I’m sure.

Still the best Switch game I´ve played this year. Not to mention how good it looks and 60fps. This reminded me of the old Ubisoft doing quality AA's. I miss those times.

The logo is irrelevant to me. Delta on iOS is one of the best emulators I’ve tried. Really accurate and the UI is top tier. Only Nintendo’s in house GBA emulator is more accurate.

I honestly have a really bad time going to 2 channels these days. Fine on pinch with speakers, but anything under 5 channels on headphones sounds subpar. And on PC I’ve been using Atmos, aka the best surround I’ve tried.

I do hope the Super Switch improves on the audio part as well, way too overlooked in my eyes. Mandatory 5.1 on all games and Atmos/in -house spatial in AAAs.

Game better improve drastically in visuals. When you compare this to the latest Prince of Persia, that actually runs at 60fps, unlike here...we start getting into problems.

Dude that last puzzle piece in the second world. If you know, you know. Some incredibely designed puzzles here, and looks and plays amazingly on the OLED screen.

Been addicted to Animal Well. Some interconnected puzzles between multiple areas are one of the best I've seen since Baba is You.

Also a bit of Spelunky 2 and Katana Zero.

Nintendo has to figure a more efficient cost-wise method though. Cartridges were quite expensive, which meant we saw almost no games put on the 32GB variants and subsequently 99% of games above 20GB had a mandatory download.
Hell, some publishers even cheap out on the 16GB one...
At that point, what exactly is the need for a physical release?

Easy, the amount of quality first party titles the Switch has surpassed for me possibly every other generation outside PS2/GC/Xbox.

But man, looking at that chart, the impact Animal Crossing NH had in 2021 sales is something worth of a rigorous research. Unexplicable.

One of those games where OC makes a huge difference. But still, the visuals in handheld mode are a disaster when you compare it to something much more complex like Spongebob: The Cosmic Shake...

Man, wish Nintendo would just bring all their stuff to Apple Music. or let us buy it on HDtracks for example. In third world countries importing a rare OST like this is out of the question, not to mention I moved to digital in the audio world like 15 years ago...

But hey, this is still nice for the targeted audience.

As long as we all get Super Mario Odyssey, the game with the best 3D movement of all times, all is valid.

Funny, the other emulator starting with R has always given me much better results (I dupe my own games, PM me if you want proof). Yuzu was always overrated software and the devs behind it flew too close to the sun.

I can play Overwatch at 240fps and this at 30. All about the genre and knowing the hardware limitations. Do I prefer 60+ in everything? Well, of course. Will it stop me from enjoying this game? Not in the slightest.

Sadly, it's unplayable on handheld mode. Dips into the low 20s and it just looks worse than some Game Cube games. Docked it's quite ok, if that's your thing.

Fair enough, can't counter that logic. Well, at least it's a slower paced game. Unlike say a metroidvania like Zau at 30fps.

There's no excuse after you see Super Mario Odyssey with dynamic 720p60.

Honestly, can't wait. Call me crazy but I just don't enjoy any third party AAA on the original Switch. Either blurry town or sub 30fps perfomance...or god forbid, both at once.
Like, if it was my only console I would probably game on it just fine, but with a good PC you basically see how much you are missing out.
I don't need THAT much from a Switch 2. 800p with good AA or DLSS/DLAA and I'm more than happy. For docked, even 1440p cap with DLSS would be fine with me.

14/17 because, come on, Wind Waker HD and GC is just sus to put in. So otherwise a 16/17 and I've only played the home console entries.

The pop in is absolutely horrendous. Games in the 90s had less of it. If Breath of The Wild exist, which also looks arguably better than this, then there is no excuse other than GameFreak being lazy. A game from 5 years ago with better shadows, physics and fooliage doing pop in so much better...embarassing.

Next time we should start comparing Splatoon 2 and LA Noire.

The Nintendo pseudo lawyers in this chat are trully something worth of studying. No one can defend this.

There is only one thing we can do to make Nintendo improve their subscription. Do not pay for the expansion pass, please. It will benefit us all in the end.

Virtual Console is the way. Has always been.

Got the game, not the system. With an OLED TV I already have that experience minus on the go. Also, the new Nintendo gen is 1-2 years from us, so no rush.

Not if you buy a copy and dump the files on the PC.
Also many EU states legalise pirated content as long as you consume it and you only. Learn the different laws across countries before you make that assessment.

Well I own 5 games physically and like 50 digitally so I will just keep BOTW in there until BOTW2 comes out lol.

PD: Just tried my soundbar and wireless earbuds. Latency is not an issue and works flawlessly.

Would have preferred the Anthology collection from Wii on Switch but hey, this looks promising.

Getting the 512GB model and burrying my Switch until BOTW2 comes out. This is the dreamed Switch Pro and it's completely ready for my huge Steam library...and much, much more.

Hopefully this will get Nintendo out of their comfort zone, it's about time.

Jokes on that one guy that plays 99% dock mode and replaces his current Switch with this model.
I will get it as I play at least 80% portable and OLED + the better audio is a big deal, not to mention the much bigger battery over my v1 Switch (BOTW 3h or 5.5h is HUGE). So yeah, selling it will recover at least half the investment. Good enough for portable users, massive dissappointment for dock aficionados.

Did not like it a bit. Got pretty bored after about 20 hours, meanwhile I have 300h in BoTW.

Yeah getting all that, N64, good CRT, the lil thingy...just for a game or for a small bunch of games is too much, especially if you live in a third world country, both time and money wise. Though I do agree with most that M64 input lag is rather bad on Switch, guess the combination of both emulation and Bluetooth just breaks it a bit.

I don´t think I agree on that.
Seeing this, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_Nintendo_Switch_video_games, you get a pretty varied list of games to be catered to a worldwide market (no Xenoblade, JRPGs and such) so I kind of question who they want to deliver to.

I came with the mentality to not be hyped and expecting to be dissapointed but somehow Ninterndo managed to dissapoint me even further. I have no idea how they do it.

More and more I only see them providing to japanese gamers and needs.

Nothing like paying 60 bucks on a 10yo port that has the letters H and D attached. Only from Nintendo.

Don’t buy re4 if you plan to play on professional.
There is a bug and QTE is brutally hard to a point of insanity. If you get past the boulders, Salazar statue won’t let you continue unless you have the speed of Sonic and Flash combined.

Have it on Apple Arcade. Definitely something unique.

And here I am still waiting for that audio patch on Switch. The compression on better headphones is just atrocious. Come on FS.
