@Tarvaax Hmm. I kbow about the problem on the original 3DS, but my wife and I have never had any issues with the XL models for the original or New 3DS XL. We use our 3DS XLs a lot too.
@antdickens You guys are awesome! The timeline is much more pleasing to scroll through! I do still prefer the old site, because it's easier to read on mobile, ( maybe the text was larger? ) but this is something I can still enjoy looking at and reading on my breaks now. Super surprised at how quick the response was to our feedback, btw.
Can't wait for this game! I was a bit worried that they were removing too many traditional Zelda conventions, but the trailer in January has gotten me excited.
I also like the idea that you can go straight to the final boss at any point. I wonder if it will be possible to defeat the boss right from the start, and how difficult that will be.
@KIREEK I wouldn't say it's the worst, but it's probably the most disappointing entry for me. So many features were dropped from this game, and honestly a lot of the new features are either just bad, or difficult to access.
I miss hoard battles, triple battles, secret bases, SOARING, Super Training... etc, etc...
@Moon If you really want the Festival Coins just jump on and do one Island Scan. Honestly I think that's all most people will do anyway, since it's not the easiest feature to use...
I'm glad that the goal is lower and the payout is higher, but... For Island Scan, the goal is still way too high. You have to scan 10 QR codes to even use Island Scan. So this goal now has even more roadblocks to reach than the original did.
I've got about 100 hours in my game and I've used island scan only twice. Going out of my way to try and help with this goal I could see myself getting maybe 3 a day in.
@DanteSolablood That's what I figured, I'm just upset they had to cut so many great fearures to get this game to run. I love the game, but I feel like maybe they should have come out with a Z version or X/Y 2 this year instead of pushing the 3DS to it's limits to the point where they had to cut so much.
I didn't realize I needed to Sync my ID for my numbers to count. I caught over 170 Pokemon and got 100 FC for it. Missed out on an extra 900 FC... Guess I'll have to take some time to register next time.
They REALLY dropped the ball with the online functionality here... Gen 6 handled it a lot better.
I've had the QR Scanner ability in the game since the beginning. I doubt this code will work until you beat the game though. I'll have to give it a try.
@rjejr You don't beed both games to enjoy this title. You NEVER have needed both games in any Pokemon generation to enjoy it. Also Pokemon Bank isn't required. The games have always given you enough box space to hold at least 1 of every Pokemon in the game. This game should have more than 800 box spaces.
So yeah, it is a complete game for $40. Pokemon games have always been complete packages.
I'm still playing. The halloween event brought me back in, and now that I have a few Pokemon over 2,000 CP I'm having a bit more fun with Gyms too. Just a couple weeks ago my strongest Pokemon were 5 Vaporeons around 1,500. Now I have a Snorlax, Vaporeon, Flareon, and Exeggutor over 2,000 thanks to the increased spawns, and I'm very close to getting Charizard and Arcanine.
I was just gonna pick up a copy day one at Walmart. ( Since in the past on day one all other stores sell out fast when it comes to Pokemon games ) That Amazon price for $31.99 pushed me to preorder though. Just ordered Sun and Moon. Sun for me and Moon for my wife.
Aww. I was looking forward to Meloetta, since she's next i n the Pokedex. She's also the last Pokemon I need for a full Dex. Maybe I'll be able to get Genosect if I end up buying Sun/Moon at the local Gamestop.
I just want them to at least do what they did with Pokemon Stadium where you could play the Gen 1 and 2 games by plugging your game into the N64 controller add on, and you could use your Pomemon for simple battling on the console game. That's not too much to ask I don't think.
@Niinbendo Gamestop won't take an opened game back like that. They force you to get another copy of the same game or take store credit wich is usually 10% of what you bought it for or lower.
About time. Too bad it's a Gamestop distribution though... The workers there act like their tryibg to sell you a car or something if you express the slightest intetest in something.
Awesome. Here in the US when Hoopa was available I took my neice to McDonalds and got her a happy meal with Hoopa in it, but when I tried downloading Hoopa on my 3DS, he didn't show up. lol
It would cost $150 to buy 30 NES games on VC. So if you don't already own these and want most of them this is a great deal. Especially since it comes with the original controller and it'll work with your other VC games...
Now if they do this for the SNES I'm all in the instant it's announced! ( My SNES was stolen years ago. )
I still haven't finished all the games I got last year! I feel like they shouldn't push it too far, but doing this every 6 months or so might be the right balance. Otherwise these games might become devalued quite a bit.
I would love to see a virtual console bundle. I doubt it would happen, but it would be nice.
@NintendoHistory The gym idea you have is nice. There could be a gym in every town, maybe one for each Pokemon type, but make them much more difficult, and beatable in any order, except for maybe the first two to get the player introduced to the game. Gen 2's post game let you tackle the gyms however you wanted in Kanto. Something like that might be cool for Sun/Moon.
Isn't this rhe version with Earthworm Jim!? I'd have never guessed this game would become so rare. I rented it once upon a time as a kid too... should have pulled the same trick! Lol.
For anyone who saw my previous post, I made a mistake with how much CN points you needed to redeem Mario 64, it was 250, not 1,000. Or, about $250 real cash spending. Compared to the new system, which will run you between $60-$90ish real spending to redeem the same game, you can see there's a huge difference here. I can forgive the ommision of physical release rewards when the new system is this generous...
I won't defend every aspect of the new system. Yes it is confusing at first glance, and you shouldn't have to think about it this much, but the point of it all is, every once in a while Nintendo is going to give you the chance to grab a free game, and that's kind of nice.
@Kokusho I don't know why I'm always baffled by the amount of people who can't do this kind of math for themselves! I'm so glad at least someone can point this out. The old CN program only gave you between 1% and 5% back for your spending. This system is way better dollar for dollar, plus there are rewards you can get without spending ANYTHING!!
Yes I know CN let you redeem points for physical purchases, but really... even for someone like me who will buy physical over digital EVERY TIME as long as the format exists, this program is still BETTER. There are WAY more games released digitally now that don't get a physical release at all. That's where your points will Come from, not the few and far between first party Nintendo titles.
Also, keep in mind this is just the beginning of this new system. If Iwata was really telling rhe truth about this new program, eventually there will be points to be earned for many different Nintendo games. That's something to be thankful for.
EDIT: Sorry, if I'm remembering right Mario 64 was 250 points, not 1,000. However, each dollar was worth 1 point, so you had to spend $250 to be able to redeem Mario 64 for free.
On this new system, Super Mario 64 cost 120 Gold Coins, amd it looks like about $5 will get you 10 gold coins. Add that up and it's $60 you'd have to spend to get Super Mario 64 for free. Yeah you're restricted to digital downloads to get points, but your points seem to be worth a lot more on the new system here...
Give it a chance people. Yeah it's quirky, but it's not all bad. It might end up being a better deal than CN was...
Huh... I've had one of my levels Removed a few months ago, but I was able to reuploaded it without any issue. I might have made a couple tweaks to it but I did NOT have to rebuild it from scratch. If that's the case now, then I'd be pretty upset to lose a level!
Seriously though, I'd appreciate it even if you played my level and just gave me some feedback. I am close to 50p stars, and my levels are pretty good I think. Thanks to anyone that takes the time.
I'm really excited for the update, btw. The rules here seem pretty fair for the most part, I'm pretty sure the speed running rule will only be enforced where we see outrageous completion times that would be impossible even for an expert player. The asking for stars rule seems a bit harsh because that's such a huge part of Mario Maker and people seem to be pretty stingy with stars unless you play their levels and ask them to play yours, but I see why they'd enforce that one if someone is excessively pestering some users for stars.
Huh. Silver, Red, and Y were my picks. In that order. The results pretty much matched my top three considering this list is more of a top 3 than a top 5.
Between me and my wife I could be spending up to $40 for these Pokemon games. Red and Yellow for her, Blue and Yellow for me... To me it's worth it, because we can battle and trade together, truly bringing gen 1 back, but at that price... I wouldn't mind them updating it with wifi battle and trading, too lol.
I wish Geno would have made the cut. When Cloud was announced, after me and my wife freaked out for a good minute, my next thoughts immediately went to Geno, because I've hoped for him to enter Smash since Meelee.
Also still waiting for Dixie, Cranky, K. Rool, Meowth, Blastoise, Impa, Paper Mario, and a Baby Mario & Luigi team similar to Ice Climbers... Just to name a few ideas for first party characters. Surprised at least 1 or 2 of those didn't make the cut for Smash 4 honestly. Also for 3rd party I'd love to see Bomberman...
Wow... I've said it before... but I personally won't tackle something under 0.10% Most levels I make tend to fall between 7-15% or so. If anyone e wants to try some of my levels I'd appreciate it and I'll return the favor, just leave a comment!
That sucks. I had a feeling this would happen when I learned he received funding for the episodes, but I hoped this wouldn't become the case. I honestly learned a lot about how to use Flash back in the day by downloading and inspecting his own videos. He's definitely talented, and making these videos takes a lot of time. Hopefully he'll get something worked out so he can continue the series.
Am I the only one who's so picky that I would avoid buying these because on the Nintendo Selects art taking away from the originals art? I hate that I'm so picky about that. Lol. I'll probably get Link Between Worlds and Pikmin 3 though. Great deals.
Also I've been needing to get Tropical Freeze physical so I can free up 11 gigs on my Wii U. I got TF free from Club Nintendo during their last hurrah.
Oh and thanks for posting! I was able to get Ryu and Famicom R.O.B! For anyone wondering most US stores have them up for preorder. If I could make a recommendation... Walmart does free shipping on preorders...
