@RedMageLanakyn I'd have $2. One of them was a coworker of mine who got his copy on launch day with Zelda... Needless to say I was and still am super jealous whenever I see him playing it during breaks.
@Lone_Beagle Exactly. Any "Hearty" item fully healing you AND adding extra hearts to your maximum health is incredibly over powered. Plus any "Endura" item fully heals your Stamina and adds extra on top of your maximun as well.
For my Hard mode run I'm just not going to use those items, lol
@FX102A Awesome! This is such a great deal. 2 contollers that work for multiple consoles + 21 of the best games ever... Ugh I hope I don't miss a preorder while I'm at work today...
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I'd love to see Metroid 5, and I wish they would have used sprite animations instead of 3D models, but honestly I've wanted a remake of Metroid 2 since Zero Mission came out, so I won't complain!
I was pleasantly surprised by this games presentation. I really dislike tactics style games, and I don't care for the Rabbids at all really, but this game just looks... fun. The trailer had me laughing, my 2 year old LOVED it, so it's definitely on my list this year.
Also wouldn't it be pretty cool if Rayman ended up as either a secret character or something?
I guess it is a little annoying that the VC isn't ready yet, but seriously there's a big first party game literally every month this year. Third Parties and Indies will fill in the gaps. That's more than enough to keep fans happy and entertained until VC does release.
I love classic games myself, and I've stopped buying VC on Wii U for the most part until we learn more about the service on the Switch, but I can wait. I'm more excited for the new Switch content right now. Part of me was also waiting to buy a Switch until we heard more about VC, but for this console it's not a priority right now, and probably won't be until either the holiday season or 2018.
@DanteSolablood Yeah. I honestly HOPE the next games aren't for the 3DS. I feel like Sun/Moon suffered for it. I would prefer they either make the move to Switch or wait for a 3DS successor if there is one.
@Gravedigga13 I'd love a sequel to Tropical Freeze, but I agree they should port that game over and maybe add amiibo support. The game was amazing on it's own and it deserves a port.
@Nintendoer My wife has an XL, and I have the New XL model. I can say that the New model runs the game a lot better... but it's still WAY worse than X/Y and ORAS. Doubles and Multi battles are terrible to look at, and almost unbearable on the original 3DS models. Myvwife won't even play multis with me in the new games, and that was one of our go-to features in the gen 6 games.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE It doesn't matter if it was a lazy port or not, because it was a smart one. You can't blame Nintendo for porting their games over from a failed system to a successful one. Not when each one of these ports will easily sell over a million coppies to people who for the most part have never played them before.
Personally, I never owned Mario Kart 8, so even as a Wii U owner I'm happy for the Deluxe port, but on the flip side, I already own Smash 4... I still would enjoy a port though if it included all the 3DS content, because I never owned the 3DS version. I would just hope we get an extra character or two to give me a little more incentive.
@Akropolon I think they'll get around 15-16 million by March of next year, but 20 million might be possible with a really good holiday push.
Personally I think they need to have a great E3 showing to get the rest of the Wii U crowd sold, like a new Metroid or Donkey Kong. They need a virtual console service that is appealing. Give us free transfers if we own games on Wii U, offer up half off sales every month for a selection of virtual console games, and please have a large library available from the get go. Nintendo should be focused on selling a larger quantity of virtual console games at a lower price to get people excited for major new releases on the system. And of course announce Pokemon. That franchise will sell consoles. Personally I'd love to see them remake gen 1 again on the Switch, or preferably do a sequel to Red/Blue and Gold/Silver.
@VENOMVSCARNAGE Could have sworn the only characters in Meelee were Fox and Falco...
But seriously, I think they've done a good job with balancing with the amount of diverse characters we have now. If every character was perfectly balanced, there wouldn't be enough variety in the game, so having a few OP characters is fine, really.
Edit: Oh, and I'm voting for Geno... obviously...
Beyond that, I'd love to see Snake come back, and Bomberman as the new guest character alomg with Geno. For first party, I mainly would like Ice Climbers to return, Impa, Dixie, Cranky, Pig Ganon (ALttP), Paper Mario, and Meowth.
I would like to see a lot more, but honestly asking for more is becoming extremely unrealistic at this point. One of the reasons I'm really hoping this is a port, because more characters would be much more manageable for a port.
@HappyMaskedGuy Hmm... Yeah, I guess you're right. Maybe some people used it in a more derogatory way? Either that or my grandma just really liked the word "a-hole"
@Assassinated I think that's waht it means, basically. When I was i kid, my grandma, who was Italian and introduced me to Mario, randomly asked me if I knew what Goomba meant. I said no, and she made that same gesture and said "A-Hole!"
I will never forget how awesome my grandma was, lol.
@Tsurii Yeah, the Festival Plaza restaraunts will be the best way to get to level 100 now. Getting to level 50 is easy enough, and that's all you really need for 90% of the Pokemon you'd be training anyway. I think the problem there is that it's even less fun and more of a chore to use Festival Plaza to get the restaraunts. Blissey Bases were more straight-forward and simple.
Gen 7 is just disappointing to me, I guess. I feel like the competitive side is overcomplicated and unbalanced compared to gen 6, complicated due to all the new Z-Crystal moves and unbalanced due to having ultra beasts and Tapus being treated as regular Pokemon amd not legendaries... and the casual side is just nonexistent once you complete the story mode.
@Tsurii I mean yeah, Blissey Bases weren't the most fun thing in the world... but you could level up 6 Pokemon to level 100 in about 30 minutes so... Not sure how that's so tedious compared to every other game in the series. I'd say it was the least tedious way to level up to 100. The only faster method was the Poke Polego glitch in Sun/Moon, but it looks like that's being removed with this update. What makes this really bad is that Sun/Moon provides no other reasonable way to level up to 100 in this game. Beating the elite 4 about 60 times is a lot more tedious than any of the other methods we've had since X/Y came out.
For some reason I keep thinking the Mario/Rabbids thing is a new Mario & Luigi. Not sure why other than the fact that maybe my brain can't comprehend the fact that this crossover is even happening in the first place.
There are so many places my wife and I explore in Breath of the Wild that would be perfect places for dungeons. I hope the DLC ends up adding new classic style dungeons where you can unlock previous Zelda game abilities that are absent from BotW.
Also, btw. Has anyone here tried using a tree as a mode of transportation in this game? I'm telling you, once you try it you won't want to stop.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Probable less than $1,000. The original booster packs were only about $3 and came with 11 cards. One of which would be a holographic rare. And the box sets that were mentioned were about $30 if I remember correctly, and came with a full set of 60 cards. Most pf the cards I had as a kid were obtained in the $3 booster packs, and I had almost every card from the first 5 or so sets. I gave them away to a friend when i went to college. I'm sure my collection would have been worth a few thousand at least if I would have kept it.
I personally think Nintendo needs to port over all of their best Wii U games... I know a lot of people here disagree, but it just makes way too much sense to not do this. These ports are not made for the people who own the Wii U...
@Spoony It would be awesome to play co-op with one player as Zelda and one as Link. Heck, in yhis game they could have even done co-op Divine Beast and Ganon fights with the other Champions, tbh...
Smash, Mario Maker, and Pokken. I have all of these, but would double dip if enough new content was added. Especially with Mario Maker and Smash. All they would have to do for Mario Maker is add a few items, enemies, themes, and add slopes...
Once you reach Gut Check Rock, there's no reason to ever sell any rare items. You can get a profit of over 700 rupees every 3 minutes with the Super Gut Check Challenge. Also Gourmet Meat is a great way to earn money fast if you feel like hunting. 5 of them is worth 490 rupees when cooked together. I have the most luck hunting the larger wildlife in snowy regions for that. So, just saying... Don't sell your Star Fragments. Keep them. They're pretty...
My favorite moments so far have to be the boss battles. My wife and I share a file, and we both do a lot of the exploring, she takes about half the shrines, but the boss battles are mine, lol. I just wish there were more of them.
@Issi To some extent I agree with this, but the Wii U userbase was very low, and honestly I don't think an entirely new Smash would be possible for another 3 years at least. So my example of a Smash port is kind of an exception. This way Nintendo can have a Smash title out the door and to potential buyers a lot faster.
A Smash 4 port would be a smart move. Although I would hope they add a bit more content to justify the purchase for Wii U owners of the game. I'd be all in even if they just added 5 or 6 new characters and included all dlc for free with the port.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE The Wii U does the same thing. It does warn you ahead of time though, and your auto saves from your old file will be available until they all get overwritten by the new auto saves. ( Which wouldn't be too long... Maybe 40 minutes of gameplay or so. )
Honestly it is a bit of a letdown that we don't have save files, but creating another profile isn't that big a deal, really.
@Alto I forgot about Mischief Makers! Also I just remembered Mystical Ninja and Goemon's Great Adventure! I wish they would get a VC release, but I doubt they ever will.
@Alto I was shocked that we got Bomberman 64 last week! I love the N64 Bomberman games, so I hope they release Bomberman Hero and Second Attack as well. Other than that the US is still missing Smash, but I can't think of much else to be honest.
