Hoopa is a Pokémon that had a rather interesting emergence in the current generation of games, originally being a mystery that had online communities intrigued before arriving as a key 'mon and getting distributed in varied ways.

While the Mythical Pokémon was distributed through public places in late 2015, it's now arrived as a serial code in North America - a region where it was originally distributed in McDonald's restaurants. This already happened earlier this year in Europe.

The serial code you need in North America is 2016HOOPA, and Serebii reports that "it comes with the Smoke Ball and the moves Hyperspace Hole, Psychic, Astonish & Nasty Plot". It can be redeemed in Pokémon X & Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, while in ORAS you can get the Hoopa Unbound form. A reminder is below.

Change Hoopa's form into Hoopa Unbound in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire! When you enter a Poké Mart with Hoopa in your party in either of these games, you will be able to hear an eerie tale from a worker there and receive the mysterious Prison Bottle. This bottle releases Hoopa from its bonds and allows it to change into Hoopa Unbound!
