Looks like a poor version of Super Mario Galaxy. I'm sure the freezing aspect will be cool, but you could already do that with a lot of stuff in SMG too.
I uploaded a few levels there and played quite a few levels that were uploaded. Once the bookmark page came out it worked so well I kind of forgot about NL'S Mario Maker page. It was fun to use at first though!
Another insane level. As good as I am, I wouldn't even attempt something like this. Once a level drops below about 0.1% completion rate I know I'm pretty much beat.
Here's my Mario Maker page if anyone would like to check out some of Mt stages. They're tough, but they're fair and fun. I'll check out your levels if you try mine. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
@CTMike I played about 10 of your levels. They're all well done and provide a decent but fair challenge. Check out some if mine if you don't mind, I linked my Mario Maker page at the top of the comments section here.
Also Played through the Cupcake Island, Waffle Plains, and Cream Soda Bay of Mario's Lost World. These levels are VERY well done and feel a lot like an actual extension of SMW. I'm loving them so far!
I love this idea!! I'll definitely be playing these levels myself when I get a chance! Btw, I'm actually working on my own SMW series. If anyone is interested I actually have 2 levels done, Mushroom Way 1-1 and Below Mushroom Way 1-2. Also a few of my other SMW stages will eventually be redone to fit into this series later on. If anyone is interested, let me know what you think!! Of course if you also have levels of your own I'll check them out as well if you don't mind trying mine! Here's the link to my stages. Thanks!
The only good thing about Gen 5 was Trubbish and Garbodor... Okay Chandelure is awesome too, and some others have grown on me, but I really didn't enjoy this game like I did Gen 4 before it and Gen 6 after.
Yeah, no way Wii U VC games are THAT dark and blurry. I have a few on my system and they look fine. Not perfect buy definitely not anything like the picture above.
Aw, I used this glitch to make floating pow blocks. Oh well. A few people made some awesome levels exploiting that glitch but most were just really frustrating.
My wife and I call him WaluMario... He is incredibly strange. Imagine if they made him available in every style. He would be even creepier looking in the NSMBU style.
I'll check yours out after work tomorrow or Tuesday ViolaBouquet!
I also just uploaded rooms 11-20 of my Pit of 100 trials... Room 20 is intense!! Shouldn't be too tough because I put a lot more power ups in this one, just be warned this one's difficulty is probably double what rooms 1-10 were. I'm sure most here can beat it but getting all 100 coins and 3 1-UP Mushrooms will be a huge chalenge.
Thanks to everyone who's been playing the levels in the comments! I've tried to play at least 2-3 levels for each person here and I WILL get around to the rest when I can throughout the week! Let's keep it going!
Here's another of mine, and I know you all like a good challenge based on what I've seen here so:
Crumbling Castle: CD0E-0000-0032-BBE2
This is a SMB3 Castle stage. It's my second level so it's not as well designed but it might be my toughest level.
Also try Mushroom Way, a lot of people seem to like it, it's meant to be a simpler level based on kicking enemies and there are a lot of hidden secrets. Thanks again!
I tried your Pit of 100 Trials Geoluigi, and now I know why no one's beaten it yet! I made it a little past room 70 though, and that was with my 1 year old crawling all over me... So MAYBE if I tried again later I could beat it? I don't know, that level was pretty tough in some spots.
I'd appreciate some of yohr feedback on my levels if you don't mind, I'll be following you and trying some of your other levels later on. For now I've played 3 and beat 2.
I'll try everyone else's levels here too tomorrow or Monday.
If anyone wants to try my levels here's a link to one of mine, it's a SMW Doom Ship level:
245F-0000-005B-35F9 "Save the Princess"
...and if you like it you can try some others including the Pit of One Hundred 1-10 I mentioned above. Comments are appreciated as well if you don't mind, and I will return the favor if I see anyone here has tried my levels. Thanks in advance.
I'll try your pit of 100 Trials when I get off work GEOLUIGI!! I bet I'll beat it! I'm working on my own pit of 100 trials, but I'm having to split it into multiple levels since I can only manage to fit 10 good sized rooms on the field. I already uploaded the first course, and I'm nearly done with rooms 11-20. Every 10th room is a boss room, and I'm pretty proud of how my first boss room turned out. If anyone's interested let me know and I'll get the code up! Although it might be easier in a few days once I can add a checkpoint, lol.
I definitely miss the Directs, but I haven't had any real desire for one... It could be due to the fact that I know it will be a bittersweet thing. My wife and I would probably be in tears after watching a direct announcement without Iwata. Especially if anyone does the "Directly" hand gesture.
Nintendo should bring them back though, or at least have regular video announcements on their website, even if it isn't a direct. They could just announce a new game trailer or mini announcement every few weeks to generate some routine hype. For instance, announcing a Smash Character reveal trailer or a Zelda U trailer to premier at a specific date/time. It's not a direct, but it is ultimately what we want out of the direct videos. Just an idea.
I remember thinking when the Wii U came out, that it felt way too early for them to be releasing a new console. To me though it was because I felt like the Wii still had a lot to offer. I feel the same way with the Wii U, but unfortunately it's time for Nintendo to come out with something fresh and new. I'm liking a lot of the rumors I've heard so far, so we'll see.
I have a big problem with making my levels too long and/or difficult. Almost all my levels have a completion rate between 10-15% My wife is a good play tester though, so I might be able to fix that problem by involving her more in my process. I usually don't lose a life on a level until it's below 15% completion rate though, and the only levels I truly have difficulty with are the ones below 1% so even if I try making a level that I think is fair, it ends up being too difficult.
This is probably my best example of what I mean: 0958-0000-004D-66BD - Pepperoni Pipe Yard
I meant for this level to be like a 6-1 or 7-1. In my opinion it's a fair level, just a bit hectic, but it's sitting around a 7% completion rate or so.
As much as I like Matt and Game Theory, this was one of his weaker Theories. The proof to back up his claims wasn't as concrete as what we usually get. That said, it was still an entertaining video. Game Theory is not meant to be taken as fact or even taken seriously half the time. It's entertainment, just like the games being talked about.
My wife and I will be watching the video tonight! Ever since Super Mario RPG, AND ESPECIALLY after Paper Mario, I've always seen Bowser as being misunderstood. In Paper Mario he even treats the Princess fairly well, almost like a Beauty and the Beast type relationship in that game. Even in the main series Mario games it's referenced, with Bowser telling Jr. the Princess is his mother. She never denies it either! I know Bowser tells his son that she isn't in the end... But maybe that isn't the case. Anyway. Bowser is a hilarious character, and Miyamoto has stated the Mario cast is more like an actor's troupe than anything else.
Yeah, it would have been nice if this ended up being a spin off series to Mario bs. Donkey Kong instead of a continuation of it. This is basically a Lemmings style game where the previous games were puzzle platforming. The best thing about March of the Minis though is the level creator.
This is unfortunate. The Gameboy Virtual Console was one of my favorite things about the 3DS. Some wonderful games I only experienced firsthand through this service, like Donkey Kong '94 and Kid Icarus for the GB. The GBC library is also extremely limited for them to not be releasing any more titles.
I kept hoping they'd eventually bring Gameboy VC to the Wii U too...
Wow, this is awesome! I never had the money to buy an e-reader or the cards back when they released, but I do remember one store that had them in stock when I was younger... I'll definitely have to check these out tonight!
In case anyone was interested, this is a level I created that I'm pretty happy with: Save the Princess: 245F-0000-005B-35F9
That's a Doom Ship level meant to be an intro to a SMW series I plan on making. It's tough, so you might lose a few lives, but it's fair and has some fun challenges thrown in like getting Yoshi and 3 1-ups.
Here are a few others I made that aren't too bad: 0958-0000-004D-66BD - Pepperoni Pipe Yard 1 2671-0000-003B-1F4E - Mushroom Cavern 7903-0000-0044-E459 - Legend of Link
My wife made that last one. If anyone plays my levels me and my wife will make sure to play yours and rate them, just let me know here who you are.
I posted most of my levels on Nintendolife's sharing page. Mine are a little on the difficult side, but by no means are they unfair. They're more like what you'd see in the SMW or NSMB special worlds.
My wife and I were really excited about this until we found out you need a third person to play locally. Why can't the third Link be an NPC or someone online?
@Aneira My wife and I will check your levels out tonight! Next time you get online if you see "DG" you'll know it's me. I'll probably end up following you on Mario Maker and if you don't mind playing and rating my levels in return we'd appreciate it!
Right now my limit is 0.11% Once a courses completion rate falls below that number I know I don't stand much of a chance. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this level permanently sits at 0.01% completion rate.
The original Pocky & Rocky is an awesome game. My dad ended up getting it for me and my brothers randomly one night and we thought, "okay, this looks weird!" As kids the only other thing we wanted was the ability to both pick Rocky since he had slightly better attacks.
Fun level! My wife played through it and beat it on her first try without knowing anything about it. She didn't find the Cape or Yoshi, she did find a 1up though!!

Looks like I'll have to download this. Should easily be the best version of the game.

That's what Matpat told us anyway. We're addicted to dope. That's why we do things like this.
