It's time for another Nintendo Download Update in North America, and this week has a busy line-up. On Switch we have a retail release, three titles from Tomorrow Corporation and another ACA Neo Geo title, while there are a lot of options across the Wii U and 3DS to consider. Let's get to it.

Nintendo Switch Retail Download

The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ (Nicalis, $39.99 / $49.99CAD) - The final and ultimate iteration of this title, it includes all of the key expansions in one place along with selected mods from the PC scene that will be added by the developers in 'booster packs'. It's a whole lot of Isaac, basically, with an impressive range of room configurations, weapons and broader variations to explore.

World of Goo (Tomorrow Corporation, $9.99 / $11.99CAD) - A title (at that point released by 2D Boy) that helped define the WiiWare service, this is a clever physics puzzler in which you tackle various stages by building and rearranging goo-based structures to avoid danger. This will include the soundtrack to listen to at any time, along with various control options; we'll bring you a review soon.

Little Inferno (Tomorrow Corporation, $9.99 / $11.99CAD) - A peculiar premise that originally arrived as a launch day title on the Wii U eShop. You selectively burn a combination of items to solve puzzles, all to reach a typically quirky ending. This will include the soundtrack to listen to at any time, along with various control options; we'll bring you a review soon.

Human Resource Machine (Tomorrow Corporation, $9.99 / $10.99CAD) - The studio's most recent release blends that trademark satire and humour with a unique approach to puzzles; the central premise draws inspiration from programming / coding, so requires logic and careful thought from players across its 38 puzzles. This will include the soundtrack to listen to at any time, along with various control options; we'll bring you a review soon.

The King of Fighters '94 (HAMSTER, $7.99 / $9.87CAD) - We've already had The King of Fighters '98 on the Switch eShop, but why not go back to a previous entry? We quite enjoyed this one in our original review. This is part of the ACA series, and so features various menu options and online leaderboards.

Wii U eShop

Sky Force Anniversary (Infinite Dreams, $9.99 / $12.99CAD) - A shmup released to some critical acclaim a decade ago, it arrives in remastered form promising improved visuals and a 'powerful upgrade system'. The Wii U has had some decent shooters like this over the years, so we'll see how this one stacks up.

Sudoku Party (Lightwood Games, $5.00 / $7.00CAD) - There ain't no party like a Sudoku Party, according to some well-known socialites. Ok, so we made that up, but this offering does include 1000 puzzles and a multiplayer mode in which you can take on an opponent (locally or online) to show off your Sudoku prowess. For fans of these puzzles this is surely rather tempting.

VRog (ByteRockers' Games, $4.99 / $5.99CAD) - The concept may be VR, but in practice you use the GamePad to see through the eyes of a frog while tackling various modes and challenges; it's cited as a 'child-friendly' experience, too, so no raunchy frog shenanigans here.

ACE - Alien Cleanup Elite (Nitrolic Games, $5.00 / $7.00CAD) - Definitely riffing off run and gun action titles from the '90s, it'll be interesting to see whether this one can rise above some rather iffy screenshots to be a fun game.

Double Breakout II (nuGAME, $7.00 / $10.00CAD) - 20 new stages, but otherwise seemingly along the same lines as its predecessor; it's Breakout for up to two players, and we're not sure what else there is to say.

Wii U Virtual Console

Picross 3D (Nintendo, $9.99 / $6.99CAD) - Following the arrival of a sequel in 2016 we now have a chance to catch up with the DS puzzler that added a neat 3D twist to a classic formula. We rather enjoyed it in our original Picross 3D review.

3DS eShop

Sudoku Party (Lightwood Games, $5.00 / $7.00CAD) - Essentially the same as the Wii U version, but in this case Download Play is usable for multiplayer and online matches are also a feature.

New Nintendo 3DS eShop

Double Breakout (nuGAME, $7.00 / $10.00CAD) - It seems we're seeing a mini-revival of Breakout games; this effort from nuGAME (previously on Wii U) promises to blend elements of Breakout and Pong over 20 stages (with support for two players).
