Re: Seiken Densetsu Collection Announced For Nintendo Switch

CaptFloofers

I'm going to remain optimistic about this. Square localized Adventures of Mana (the FFA remake) on mobile and the Vita so I don't see why they wouldn't localize this.

That said, a higher price wouldn't surprise me. Square is one of those developers that charges a premium for nostalgia.

Re: Poll: A Week On, How Do You Feel About the Nintendo Switch?

CaptFloofers

All in all, I think the system itself looks fine. Being a portable console at its core, it most definitely appeals to me, and I will be purchasing one in the future. However, the game launch lineup is dreadful. Next to none of the games interest me in the slightest, with the only one being Zelda (which I already have pre-ordered on the Wii U). Non-launch games I would want include Skyrim (say what you will, but portable Skyrim is incredibly appealing to me, special edition or not), Mario Odyssey, and Sonic Mania (which I may be getting on PS4 if I don't have a Switch by then), and that's not a lot. It's something I'm definitely interested in, just not something I'll buy right away.

Re: Feature: Five Franchises That Deserve A Fresh Chance on the Nintendo NX

CaptFloofers

@MarcelRguez I always remember Wario Land. The first is one of my all-time favorite games, and I'm currently playing through Wario Land 2.

I can think of lots of games that I would like to see on the NX, but at the same time, I know what kind of games we're probably going to get: [Insert beloved franchise here]: Forced Gimmick edition, and another "New" Super Mario Brothers game. Oh, and whatever they're going to call the 9the Mario Kart game.

Re: Fan-Made Title Pokémon Uranium Withdrawn By Creators Following Cease And Desist Fears

CaptFloofers

This would have been a whole lot less likely to have gotten a cease and desist, I think. While this is a Pokémon game, it doesn't copy any of the official games in story, region, or any other details like that, and thus wouldn't necessarily cut into official Pokémon sales. Compare this with AM2R, a game that was very much the exact same game (albeit with a few things added) as Metroid 2, a game that is still available for purchase from Nintendo. That could have cut into sales of the Virtual Console release, as a better version of the game would have been available for free.

Re: Pokémon GO Success Causes Nintendo Share Price To Surge, But Teething Troubles Frustrate

CaptFloofers

I would love this game if I could get it to work. I played it once after I downloaded it, and the next day the servers were down. Since then I haven't even gotten server errors, the darn thing doesn't even seem to want to try and connect. After about five minutes of the spinning Pokeball on the screen, I tried turning it off and on again. Nothing. I tried deleting and reinstalling. Nothing. Maybe I'll come back to it once I know it works properly, but I'm to frustrated with it at this point and I'm not even going to bother wasting any more of my time to try and make it work.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Thinks You Should Give Star Fox Zero Another Try

CaptFloofers

Sorry, Mr. Miyamoto, but no. I played this game for about 10 minutes and the control was so terrible I had to turn it off and get rid of it. I wouldn't mind using the game pad to aim and shoot if I was sitting still like in the 3DS Zelda remakes, but using that to turn in conjunction with stick control was just plain awful. I'm sorry, but if I have to "get used to" a control scheme to think that it's good, it's not good. It's counter-intuitive, it's not fun, and it just chalked up as another forced gimmick that ruined another potentially good game.

Re: Poll: Did The First Pokémon: Sun and Moon Trailers and Starter Pokémon Get You Excited?

CaptFloofers

I want to be excited for this game. I really do. The main thing that's holding me back is that I know the story is going to be the same as it has been since Gen 3: Evil Team wants to revive your version's legendary God Pokemon and use its abilities to overwrite the world based on their best interests. I may pick this up sometime down the road (and choose Rowlet), but for now I'm reserving my judgement until more info is available.

Re: Poll: The Tricky Issue of Retail Games as Download-Only Releases

CaptFloofers

I'll purchase a game digitally if I know for a fact I'm going to like it enough to never get rid of it, and get physically if applicable for other stuff. That way, if I don't like something, I can get rid of it and at least recuperate some of my losses. However, there have been times when I've downloaded stuff that was on sale for like 5 bucks.

Re: Review: Pokémon Rumble World (3DS eShop)

CaptFloofers

I was pleasantly surprised with this. I was initially skeptical about having a Rumble game as F2P, as I really like the previous games (especially Blast) and was looking forward to a "full" release of a Gen 6 Rumble game. However, I found this game is great in short bursts. I'm content with playing until I'm out of balloons and then taking a break, and there are plenty of opportunities for free diamonds, so I can get all the fun out of it without paying a dime.
