Dragon Ball Fusions arrived not too long ago in Japan, and we've been admiring its slightly wacky trailers and footage. Recent ratings and listings pointed to localisation for this one, and now it's official - it'll arrive on 3DS in North America on 13th December, and February 2017 in Europe.
In case you're unaware, this one's an RPG that allows players to fuse characters together in strange combinations, while also being heavy on the anime ingredients. It's looked a lot of fun in Japanese marketing, and now there's a localised trailer:
A press release for the announcement has a couple of interesting snippets about the game - there'll be a multiplayer battle mode, and you'll be able "to use the Nintendo 3DS' camera to take pictures with friends and fuse them with Dragon Ball characters or trade special moves with nearby players."

Are you planning to pick this up?

cool but why feburary and not december like the us
My 11 year old is really looking forward to Dragonball Xenoverse 2 on PS4. Maybe if Nintneod would announce NX we'd get that game on there as well. I know it's 2 different companies and sets of games, but 3DS gets more DB games than Wii U. Maybe NX could change that? And maybe we'd know if Nintneod stepped out from behind the curtain.
Watched the vid - it's, it's, it's.. DragonMon? PokeBall? Actually, looks really cool. Reminds me of Sagas on Gamecube, which I played to death. Maybe my kid will want this after all. And I'll continue to wish to play 3DS games on my TV.
@BensonUii thats not a good excuse anymore as most games come to europe the same time as the us if not earlier, look at mario party
@kamikazilucas Obviously Atlus is publishing in Europe
nintendo and there stupid buisuness decisions, they would be alot better off releasing it at the holiday
@IceClimbers probably
@kamikazilucas probably because of the extra work, in the U.S they only need a English translation but in the UK and Europe they also have to add French, German Spanish and more and that takes extra time
@FullbringIchigo still not an excuse , dragon quest 7 contains loads of writing in other languages yet it still comes out the same day as in the us
@kamikazilucas Nintendo has little to do with this.
Namco is the publisher. blame them
I read the last part as "[...]you'll be able 'to use the Nintendo 3DS' camera to take pictures [of Nicolas Cage] and fuse them with Dragon Ball characters or trade special moves with nearby players.'"
@Pikachupwnage nintendo is also the publisher
Neat!
@kamikazilucas Localization for multiple languages takes time... In the NA side they usually only deal with french + english, and sometimes spanish.
With this and the new Digimon World game, they have made me a very happy person.
Day 1 purchase!
@antipop621
If your talking about that Digimon game for Playstation then GET IT!
Its like Digimon mixed with Persona.
@radogoji If you know Nicolas Cage IRL, it's not wrong is it?
Oh man I hope somebody with this game knows Nicolas Cage and can do this, for the good of the world.
"Intense battles with Super Warriors from across the world!"
Um...I think someone accidentally put Yamcha in that shot.
Its not Monster Hunter: Stories, but I'll take it.
Will definitely pick this up.
"Next year": always the best year in gaming, every year.
@kamikazilucas No. No they aren't
Glad to see it at least has a story. All I had seen about this previously had been about the fusions. Seems like a fun game
@kamikazilucas Just be happy we're even getting the game, even two months later is GREAT for Europe, we have host of games that came out after 6 months at the least. I'm not going to complain about 2 months.

YES! HAHA! YES! HOPE REALLY DOES EXIST! 8D
"Better late than never"
I'm tired of people thinking it's OK for Europe releases to be delayed. Let's face it, 2015 has been absolutely terrible when it comes to the "localisation" of 3DS games in Europe.
America got Fire Emblem Fates in February. Europe? We had to wait for 3 months.
America and the rest of the world are getting Pokémon Sun and Moon on November 18th. Europe? The big N apparently need more time on "localising" the games so we have to wait five more days. Keep in mind as well millions of 3DS owners across the globe (except for Europe) will be playing S&M from the 18th, so we'll either have to watch everyone else have fun or stay away from the entirety of the Internet for almost a week.
And this news is the straw that breaks the camel's back. Seriously, why does the UK have to play a waiting game for a matter of days/weeks/months because of the rest of Europe? Most Europeans will straight up say that they play the game in English anyway because the translations are meh, so why bother with the meh localisations?
I don't know anything about Dragon Ball but this looks like fun — will keep this game on my radar.
Grr I'm always so angry!
FINALLY. Now just announce One Piece Pirate Colosseum with the cross multiplayer with Extreme Butouden for NA and my year will be made.
@kamikazilucas but DQ7 was published by Nintendo and this will be published by Bandai Namco and BN always do this with their games
Hope they have a demo to get a taste first , but I think it looks good from the trailer . Might check it out
@Phil_Kavadias why wouldn't there be? You're either going to keep liking something or your not. I've been watching dbz, db and gt since the late 90s. I've had no reason to stop liking it. It wasn't a trend to me. Just like Star wars, Star Trek, Ninja turtles, Nintendo, Dr. Who or any other franchise.
@Phil_Kavadias I think this explains it:

@Phil_Kavadias That's kinda like saying you don't like shooters, FIFA, Madden, or NFL games anymore. What's to hold on to? They are essentially the same games repeated over and over again.
Oh my god, yes.
Totally playing as a Namekian
I sure am going to pick this up! We haven't had a Dragon Ball RPG since Attack of the Saiyans!
@Phil_Kavadias
Um, dragon ball super?
And that's magical money maker called:
Nostalgia
@Phil_Kavadias it's an RPG! LoL! For me it's the sheer nostalgic enjoyment of adventuring in a relm I still love. Its a game and new story.
@Phil_Kavadias But Dragon Ball is still ongoing o:
@Phil_Kavadias
DBZ is very iconic, a globally recognized, top brand. They haven't ever taken a break or stopped releasing DragonBall merchandise. And they recently announced that the series will continue. The world Akira Toriyama created is just a super solid franchise, a marketing dream. There is just something magical about DragonBall.
I've been a huge DBZ fan my entire life, even before it showed up in North America. My online signature, is from the DBZ TV opening credits. My boys are into it and reading my old translated comics by Viz and I'm buying the coloured manga for the family. I'm picking up a new DBZ blu-ray movie every year or so and also videogames here and there. I'm purchasing the SH Figuarts figures and Banpresto mini-statues. Really, hardly a month goes by where I'm not buying something Dragonball related, lol.
I was worried this wasn't going to get a western release. Count me in!
so i have another Dragon Ball game to look forward too?
@Phil_Kavadias I know I'm a bit late to the party but what the heck.
Dragonball Super is currently a thing. As someone mentioned above, it's headed by Akira Toriyama himself and new stories are being made, new characters are being added (hence, you must have seen Beerus the God of Destruction in the trailer - he's the only villain you wouldn't recognize, if you haven't seen Super) and new transformations are also a thing.
So, no. The Dragonball series isn't over yet. And with the many fans that grew up with the franchise (those who weren't just invested because it happened to be on early morning cartoon programs) every new game sends into a frenzy of excitement. And it probably won't ever stop, because its one of the most successful brands worldwide.
Why stop milking a franchise when there's clearly a demand for more?
I have only a simple sentiment to express: I'm in!
Sigh...I wish I was a dragonball fan just because of the fact that they still get games even now. Alas I am not.
@Phil_Kavadias You, sir, are very welcome! Personally I don't think the fights are as good as Dragonball Z or Dragonball - but we're getting there. The plots are varied though, which is why most of us are still watching. Glad to hear you're on board too!
@Phil_Kavadias I think we both deserve a pat on the back~
Gotta say, out of all the characters, Beerus is my favorite. Its nice just having a singlular character that's stronger than Goku, who isn't a good (or bad) guy and still poses a constant, very real threat to the group.
Now we're no longer seeing the rinse/repeat cycle we saw in Z with the other villains. This is taking an entirely different approach and I think that it could go a long way, as long as enough care is put into the dynamic. Some of the other plots are interesting too, and I like how they're starting to flesh out previous ones as well. I really can't wait till Fusions comes out because it's like an another expansion to the same universe.
We're still chugging along just fine... ;D
