Re: Poll: Do You Play Your Switch More In Docked Or Handheld Mode?

CaptFloofers

Well, I misread the options and picked the opposite on in the poll, but I meant to choose 90% handheld. I prefer playing portable systems, but I sometimes use the docked mode if I'm watching YouTube or playing with other people. I've moved in with my brother recently so he'll occasionally play in docked mode as well.

Re: Poll: Is E3 Still Relevant To Nintendo In 2020?

CaptFloofers

I couldn't care less about E3 presentation-wise. In this day and age, when game companies can just make announcements over social media any day of the year, I believe it's an outdated concept. I usually skip out on the cringy presentations (especially for the major publishers I've already stopped giving money to) and read the headlines afterward. Then again, I'm an old curmudgeon with a huge backlog and announcements for new games very rarely get me excited anymore.

Re: Former Nintendo Of America President Reggie Says The Future Of Games Is In The Cloud

CaptFloofers

Cloud based streaming is the future of gaming because that's what the major publishers want, and it's a future I won't be buying into. It's hard enough to find new games that interest me as it is, and I've already decided that unless something drastic convinces me otherwise, I'm not buying into the next generation. By the time everything has gone full streaming with individual subscriptions for each freaking developer, I'll still be playing my Switch, PS4, and 3DS. It's just not worth it to me to keep up with anymore.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 26th)

CaptFloofers

I initially largely underestimated the amount of time it would take to finish Dragon Quest XI (since I had played the PS4 version before), but I'm in post-game now and may clear it this weekend. As for afterwards, I'm kind of torn as to whether I want to go for a nice chill replay of Chrono Trigger or continue my backlog with Mother 3.

Re: Japanese Releases Of Dragon Quest I, II And III On Switch Will Be Playable In English

CaptFloofers

I may go for the Asian version but only if it's official that there's no western release. Even in what seems to have been a big renaissance for the series in recent years, I'm always paranoid regarding Dragon Quest's releases. I've noticed that Squeenix has pretty high expectations for DQ (as many major publishers do) and can be quick to pull western support when they don't feel it's doing well enough. So if there's a chance for a western release in this case, I'd rather wait and see. If one jumps the gun and gets the Asian version before confirmation of a western release, they will be less likely to get it again for the same console if there is one. Squeenix will see that as a sale for the Asian region, and thus less support for the west.
