I've been hoping Blue Prince and Marvel Rivals would come to Switch 2 for a while! And, although backwards compatibility is a thing, I am really hoping for a native Switch 2 version of Palia!

I am 100% going for this. Aside from it having some fun multiplayer bit, the singleplayer content looks really good — obviously, there's no way to know until it comes out, since the previews are all for the "attractions," but it looks really good!!

@Crockin Rosalina and Mouse mode are part of it, but the S2E also contains a Challenge Mode, a new story, and new minigames

I definitely want Captain Toad (and the Talking Flower, of course). If there were a standalone Prince Florian, I'd go for that, but honestly? I don't really care for how he looks with the Poplin, so I'll pass. Elephant Mario is fun, too, but I'm already planning to get the Mario Galaxy amiibo, so I don't need this one

I want to see Blue Prince, the new Tomb Raider Atlantis game, and Marvel Rivals (some of these other ones look pretty cool too, I must say).

I have always been a fan of amiibo. I just collect the ones that I want, regardless of their rewards. My collection isn't huge, but I love all of them!

I played 40 games across 445 hours this year!

My number one was Palia (with 236 hours). This is probably mainly due to the huuuuuuge Elderwood Expansion that dropped this year.
Second place goes to Mario Kart World, at 36 hours. It's a super fun game, and it even overtook Switch Sports as my family's go-to party game!
Then, in third, Donkey Kong Bananza got 33 hours of playtime. I'm still not done with it or the DLC, but I have to be in the right mood for those one. Might be a while before I get the 200% completion.

The only months that Palia wasn't the top game were June (MKWorld), July (DKB), and November (Hyrule Warriors).

My monthly stats were:

I'm calling Luigi's Mansion 4, a Kirby Robobot remake, Zelda Oracle remakes, a Zelda Movie trailer, and S2Es for Switch Sports and Pikmin. Also a Kid Icarus Uprising remake, which I will continue to predict until someday it comes true.

@Anti-Matter I think the big takeaway here is that everyone has their own preferences so what makes ACNH better for you might make it worse for someone else

I grew up on ACNL and had a literal obsession. I am talking "genuinely unhealthy to the point that I think my parents wouldn't have been wrong to get me into some form of therapy." I could name every villager, their personality, their coffee blend, and most of their quotes. I could tell you about every NPC and what they did. I could describe most of Dr. Sheunk's comedy bits, some of them verbatim. I talked about it to everyone (parents, siblings, friends, pastors, Walmart cashiers). It was bad. Then, ACNH came along. I refused to buy it for about 3 years, because I remembered how I had been with New Leaf and did not want to be that obsessed with anything ever again. It worked, I think: I still play New Horizons to this day, and am eagerly awaiting the 3.0 update, but I only boot it up occasionally, about 3 or 4 times a month. I can treat it as a game, rather than a second life (and one that I nearly valued more than my real life). So even though New Leaf had a stronger hold on me, New Horizons has a heathier relationship with me. But that's just my two cents

Loved the article, but GOSH DARN IT JIM why is Thor 2 still the punching bag for jokes about bad MCU movies. I know I'm in the minority here, but I utterly adore it (and, even hotter take.... I think Thor 3 is a disaster. I am literally making a video essay explaining why I feel that way haha). I mean, when Secret Invasion exists, and even within the Thor continuity you've got the likes of Live and Thunder, there is no reason The Dark World should still be so utterly despised!
