I really don't mind Coin Coffer. However, I doubt anyone ever genuinely wanted him in a Mario Kart. Ninji, on the other hand, has been in wishlists since before we even knew about the "gimmicky" roster. Cappy in his ghost form could work really well, too! And what about Prince Florian, or even the Poplins (@JimNorman said they were definitely his fave...)? The Tostarenans would be fun, too, or maybe Luma? (Though Rosalina has one riding with her after their absence since Wii)

Bought Putt Putt Saves The Zoo for my little brother because I loved it as his age… and still do lol!
Mostly though, playing Palia because ELDERWOODS IS RELEASING ON TUESDAY!!! and I need to prepare. I really cannot wait!

Just remember: People will complain there aren't enough new gimmicks, but if they had made something totally new with gimmicks, then people would have complained that it wasn't a Switch 2!

Thank goodness. The leaks were rampant and would have been unavoidable no matter what. But a company putting them out made them all the harder to avoid! I am still excited for the console, and I still freaked out when I saw the official announcement, but Genki certainly dampened my enthusiasm. Even without the lawsuit, I won’t be supporting them or their products any time soon!

Nintendo is the only news source I ever use (and I mean that literally lol, I don't watch CNN of FOX or anything for news haha), and I never cared for Polygon or GB. Obviously, it stinks that they lost their jobs. But for me personally I am not losing a major source or anything.

@N00BiSH Well /that/ brought back nostalgia from when I first got my OLED 3 years ago (!) and didn’t have a Nintendo account so I only ever saw the News articles with her on them. I rather missed her, now that I think about it!

Either aforementioned Splatoon, or Animal Crossing. Terraforming is a pain (I never did finish my island), so mouse controls for that would be a Godsend! Or ofc another Kid Icarus.

I am more than ready for this game, but that is in no way due to the Direct. Rather than showing off something new, it felt like an annoyingly long, drawn-out infomercial about things I already knew. But my excitement remains!!

This is the one and only price-related thing about Nintendo that bugs me. I genuinely don't get the hate for NSO prices, the Switch 2 price, MKWorld's price... but this one, yeah it shoulda been free or something.

@SGE2000 +1 to your point about the change in dynamic on this site. I’ve been a reader for years and recently I have been feeling like there are some articles that are trying to force a POV into me. And when they aren’t… the comment section is sure to make up for it.

On a similar note, as a Switch fan, I will say my excitement about this console is only still around because it didn’t break $500. $450 is exactly $50 cheaper than I expected so I am fine with it. Would I like cheaper games? Yes. Would I like a new Animal Crossing? Yes! But I am totally fine with what we have coming. Honestly there are plenty of people right now saying “lower the price or we boycott” who also have another tab open that they are refreshing to make sure they get their preorder in. Sadly the tensions run high both ways, which stinks because I just am enjoying the hype of being here for the beginning of a console, unlike every other console I have owned that I got 5+ years after release. I get the collective disappointment from many, but I also wishI could enjoy the launch without feeling like I am doing something wrong buying something I want!

The comment from XBox sounds rude and dismissive. The one from Nintendo sounds like an acknowledgment, covered in PR goop. They are nothing alike.

Not reading the review to avoid spoilers, but I think I will finally jump into the Xenoblade series with this one! I considered it when 3 released and held off, but I really do plan to grab this as soon as I get back home on Saturday (assuming the Elderwoods haven't somehow managed to be shadowdropped in Palia, in which unlikely case literally everything else will have to wait lol)
