Re: Preview: Fabulous Fashion and Questionable Game Design in The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

I don't understand the disappointment. The multiplayer will still be great. Nothing here contradicts that. And that is what the game is designed for. If it does what it sets out to do and falls short in doing something extra, oh well. Four Swords is one of the best games there is to play with friends. I don't see why one would even want to play it solo. The challenge and fun is in coordinating a group to work together instead of repeatedly throwing each other into pits to steal their gems. It is just a weird Zelda game without an overworld if played solo. I don't see anything to suggest Tri-Force Heroes would be different.

If it is anything like the board game, the strategy is Risk-tier. Fairly dull game in my limited experience with the first three or four missions. Nothing wrong with a simple, luck heavy game if you're into that, but I don't know that Advance Wars / Fire Emblem comparisons should be expected. The board game is not anywhere close to that kind of strategy game.

I may be the only one who really loved this game. One of my favorites on DS, possibly my favorite. Can't wait to play it again. An expanded version would be cool, but I like the focus on improving your score.

Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd October (North America)

I seem to remember downloading Super Mario 3D World and A Link Between Worlds at midnight EST, so I imagine that will be when Smash is available for download, too. If you are in a different US time zone, download it then go play in line at a GameStop midnight release and tease everyone still waiting.
