I love that they led off with slopes. They do listen to us. I am going to end up watching this trailer a hundred times before it comes out, if not today.
For some reason they want it compared to Smash Bros, even though that's clearly not a favorable comparison, when the game play on display is much closer to something like Duck Game.
I'm happy with it. Most players buy a fighting game to play with friends or on an online ladder. It doesn't make sense to force players through a month-long grind of whatever awful single-player mode they have this time.
If people genuinely like the single-player game, they should not need locked content to want to play it. The game should be fun in and of itself.
(Usually Smash has alternate unlocks, such as play X number of games, to avoid having to play garbage like Subspace Emissary. But it's still a bizarre concept. No one makes an album where you have to listen to track one X number of times before listening to track two.)
Really fun game. Somewhat similar to the board game Talisman, but better.
Could be much better with an undo button since there are a lot of rules and interactions that I don't feel the tutorial covered well, but eventually it all makes sense.
Probably worth getting again. Wish they did cross-platform play though.
I was planning to stop buying DLC on Steam since I'll eventually get this on Switch, but I don't think I can say no to Shovel Knight! He looks really fun. This game continues to impress. I hope the Game Maker thing helps them get this on Switch sooner.
I played 20XX briefly on PC and really liked it. It is essentially Mega Man with randomly generated elements, permanent death, and (I didn't get to try this) co-op. Looking forward to this one, though I'm just a little more interested in Dead Cells for my randomly generated needs, once that's out.
Nintendo Land is listed as a possible Wii U port, but I don't see how that's possible since you need both screens for most or all of the mini-games.
That would actually be one of the more exciting announcements for me if they can figure out a way to make it work (since you have to dock the Switch to see it on TV). Mario Maker and Nintendo Land are the only reasons I can't get rid of my Wii U.
I didn't realize there was anything to complain about, but I guess I am not really looking for anything from an online service except the ability to play online. My save files work fine on my system and have for many years on other systems, so not sure what the big deal is with cloud saves. Voice chat would be nice, but even on other systems a lot of people prefer to use Discord or whatever anyway. And the NES games aren't all great, but several are classics that people still go back to decades later. I know I will be playing a lot of Dr. Mario, especially if you can play online.
It looks like a puzzle game to me, not a role-playing game, from the screen shots. The only similarity is the pen and paper, but it seems like you're solving some kind of puzzle to figure out how to escape.
All Zelda 2 needs is a better translation with better hints. If a remake were to happen, I would hope they'd leave the difficulty as-is, or at least have optional difficulty levels.
But if this guy really wants to make more games like this, I'd be more interested in seeing a brand new game, personally. Zelda 2 is already available and not as difficult as people make it out to be, if you have just a little patience.
@idrawrobots The Dragon's Trap remake had an option to use the original graphics, for those who hate their eyes. Thankfully Zelda 2 actually looked fine, so it might be worth using the option.
I've played this. I'd get it again on Switch to be able to try out co-op. It's a fun concept. I never got particularly far in the few attempts I made, but anyone who can handle Mega Man X should be able to beat one or two levels per run. I got it around the same time as Dead Cells, so I ended up playing that a lot more — both being 2D action platformers with RNG levels, I'd pick Dead Cells over this unless you want to play co-op.
Prime 2's multiplayer was weird, but it was still fun, so I'm glad they made it. I disagree with him on seeing multiple Sami run around. I hope Nintendo doesn't abandon multiplayer Metroid. Hunters was also really fun.
I didn't realize Matt was making a full version of Celeste, and on Switch no less! Very cool. I hope Towerfall is still coming, as well.
Looking forward to Balloon World, too. I don't feel like tracking down all the stars, but I'd come back to the game for this if you can search for friends' balloons.
The Wii U ports on Switch make sense because it was an unpopular system with some really great games many people missed out on, but most Nintendo fans had a 3DS at some point and don't need to buy it again unless they're making significant changes to the game (in which case they wouldn't be asking to quote old reviews).
If the original was always the best and nothing could add anything, we'd all still be playing Atari. I'd love to see platform fighters develop into a bigger genre, but for some reason Smash fans tend to be close-minded. This is a super fun game on Steam, and one I will definitely buy again to have on my Switch. I hope it is received as well as it deserves. The Switch needs more whaledogs.
Very cool to have a Nintendolifian's work on a Nintendo console. It'd be even cooler if I could make it out the first level. My skills have deteriorated greatly since the iPad version.
I care only about the game play, not which character's face is on it, so I see nothing in the trailer that looks bad. It's too bad there isn't a demo though. I'm still hoping for Rivals of Aether to come to Switch. I'd be more excited about that than a new Smash.
"Our only complaint is perhaps the amount of content on offer. Our first run took approximately 45 minutes to complete all four worlds and see the credits screen. "
I knew I sucked but didn't realize how much until now.
The free Pac-Man Vs. works even if no one owns it, or does one system need to own the Namco collection?
I thought Kid Tripp was coming to Switch. Is it going to be on both platforms? I was looking forward to trying to finish it since I don't have my iPad anymore.
Pretty excited about Overcooked. That looks like a hoot and a holler.
Looks well made, though the characters aren't that interesting. Steam already has the amazing Rivals of Aether for fans of Smash-style games, but this will be nice if for no other reason than it is free to play, so hopefully I can get friends to play.
Great game by a great guy, one of our own, in fact. Not sure if this is your first time getting on a Nintendo platform, but it must be exciting nonetheless, so congrats, Pixelman. I don't have an iDevice anymore, so I'll be buying this again. Looking forward to that Zelda 2-based game we talked about a lifetime ago.
Someone mentioned the misspellings are because this is not an English-speaking company and this is an internal document not meant for outside viewing. The same explanation can be given for the use of the word "ass." Presumably they sent this to Nintendo for review, and someone on one side or the other leaked it.
Glitches can brick your system if opened in the editor. That is the primary reason this stuff is banned. I love to watch Psycrow's levels, but there are legitimate reasons for Nintendo to ban glitch levels.
And claiming Mario Maker is "dead" is utterly ridiculous if you actually still play it. There are so many fantastic level creators who still to this day are figuring out new tricks to use that don't need game breaking glitches — they are keeping the game "alive".
I wouldn't say no to another update from Nintendo, but it isn't needed, and MM2 on Switch is a given anyway.

Re: Real Men Use Items! Looks Like An 8-Bit Super Smash Bros., And It's Coming Exclusively To Nintendo Platforms

Re: New Kirby Otamatone Instruments Are Headed To Japan, And They're Adorable
I've always wanted one of these but done a good job resisting. Now though... oh my, that looks amazing.
Re: Blaster Master And Zelda II Arrive On The Switch Online NES Service This Month
Zelda 2 is the best. I've always wanted them to release Joy Mech Fight over here. Sad they're not. It's really quite good.
Re: Unlocking All Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Should Only Take A Couple Of Hours
Some people enjoy easy games. Some people prefer a challenge. If only there were an option for both. We could call it a difficulty setting.
Re: Unlocking All Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Should Only Take A Couple Of Hours
The game itself is the reward.

Re: Nintendo Adding Three More Games To Switch Online NES Library Next Week
NES games, zzz. Let me know when they add Switch games.

I'll be interested in a review for this one. Assuming a new Mario Maker eventually comes our way, this could still be nice for the co-op.
Re: Marble It Up Wants To Be The "Roll-Playing Game" Of The Year On Switch
Marble Madness is one of my favorite games, and Kororinpa on Wii was great as well. Looking forward to this. Every console needs marbles.
Re: Cosmic Star Heroine Dev Explains Its "Frustrating" Experience Working With Nintendo
The game doesn't look good, and Nintendo is not their personal marketing department. This is just making excuses.
Re: Shovel Knight's Next DLC Pack Is A Super Smash Bros. Style Multiplayer Brawler
Looks fun, but much more excited to play him in Rivals of Aether.
Re: TowerFall Brings Six-Player Action And Celeste Characters To Switch Next Month
The best free-for-all game I've ever played. Can't wait to try it with six.
Re: FlyHigh Works Live Broadcast Reveals A Handful Of New Games Coming To Switch
The interior of the house in Picontier could have come straight out of Mother 3. I enjoyed Fantasy Life on 3DS, so this looks fun.

I don't like the tendency for fighters to have massive, unbalanceable rosters, so I'm okay with this. Glad they're continuing to update it.

And it's going to be at EVO? Awesome!

That's a lot of cool content, but I'd still prefer an update that just says "You can now skip the talk show when opening the game."

I'd prefer to see Rivals of Aether on Switch, but this looks well done.
