Haha, I was laughing as soon as I saw Night Trap team, and even more after seeing what they said. I don't think this third place console needs your third rate game which isn't going to get funded in the first place.
Wow, I always assumed this was a light gun game, due to the Nintendo Land mini-game. But no, it's top-down Ninja Gaiden. This looks fantastic. Wish I knew if it'd be on Wii U eventually so I could hold off and get it there instead.
I thought when he said Demons were the second faction that he said Vegans. Missed opportunity, I suppose. They would certainly have a natural rivalry with the Vikings.
I think the fact that he put Mario right side up testifies to the employee's basic knowledge of video games. The problem seems more to be with his knowledge of how words work.
Yea, this is more use than I expected out of it. It's good thinking. I don't know what else we could want from a touch screen in a fighting game, particularly one that doesn't use complex commands for special moves (SFIV had touch screen shortcuts).
Regarding singling someone out online, he is talking about something specific there. There arose a trend in online Brawl where three players would join a match together, then everyone just sits still while one of them attacks the random fourth guy, and swap out if you're doing well, so they all focus on the same target all match. Basically, they're complete jerks who don't like fun. I don't understand how this became popular. This new feature helps you identify someone you feel is a legitimate threat when things get chaotic.
Two Best Buys in Louisiana this year. We're moving on up! I will probably go to the West Bank. Both are an hour away but totally worth it. May go both days if the wait isn't as terrible as I expect it to be.
This looks awful. It does seem lazy and disappointing. You cross paths with a particular player once a lap and have a short window of opportunity to hit them. Miss it and it isn't like you can turn around and chase. The arena format meant you could never run in one direction long so you could be cut off if your movement was predicted.
But of greater interest is something I didn't notice in trailers before: Can you no longer trail shells and bananas behind you? Or is everyone simply living on the edge? I think I would be okay with that change. It would give some identity back to the first place items which have generally boiled down to the ones that can be trailed and the ones that cannot being a handicap.
The music from that trailer was pretty good. And the game actually does look a whole lot better than the original, which unfortunately is the least praise I can give a game. The developer interacting with the hero directly is pretty hilarious as a concept, too. I never expected to say so much semi-positive about a Bit Boy sequel. I hope if they do keep making these that it eventually results in a game I'd want to play because it is a fun concept.
"for whatever reason Kubi sounds an awful lot like popular depictions of Satan." For reasons of accurate portrayal, perhaps?
Brawl is very different from Melee. The game speed alone is enough to make that obvious. Characters run and fall much slower. The floatiness is something a lot of people dislike. It isn't an upgrade. Some would say it is a major downgrade. I would say it's different and not degrade other people's opinions by acting like my opinion overrides theirs. Both are fun games. My preference is for Brawl, but both are still worth playing because they're so different.
Just because you value grabbing people and throwing them on the ground more doesn't mean people who have different values have no life or have no noteworthy accomplishments off the couch. Wrestling is of no greater consequence than video games. Both are entertainment and something to challenge ourselves in. You shouldn't be so condescending and judgmental. There are polite ways to disagree with people.
I hope people who watch the first video in this thread watch the second for a sense of how "professional" these interviews tend to be. He isn't interviewing with Charlie Rose. The quote from the first one should not be treated so seriously. The idea that Ice Climbers are making the game boring (I think that's what was said?) may in fact be true, but the delivery did not seem disrespectful so much as humorously (and obviously) exaggerated.
And if you want a sense of context for the Ice Climbers in pro games, look up Wobbling. I don't know if that's what they're talking about in the video since it is so brief, but it is certainly something that makes them annoying, or at least appear to be (I don't play against anyone so pro as to use the exploit on me).
He is just talking confident like athletes do all the time. Being the best doesn't mean being completely unbeatable. He didn't say anything hurtful to anyone else in the interview to earn some of the judgmental and overly critical comments.
Always nice to hear from one of the brilliant minds of the industry. The way he takes a game from one system and puts it on another is out of this world.
Well, this is the first time I open a Nintendo product and don't immediately register it. Glad I sat on this code all month now. Not sure I really feel like tens of hours of walking back and forth pressing A to grind, but it's at least good trading fodder if I don't download it myself.
I am confused and amused by their dedication to spoofing EA. Historical figures playing football is also a really funny idea. I think I like this company.
They all look the same as always except for Knuckles suddenly being a linebacker. Well, I have no idea who pink person is, but looks like a standard Sonic character.
The game looks a little better than normal, which is to say maybe decent. I mean, I can generally give anything a shot if I get to fight against Shai-Hulud. (Bless Him and His Water. Bless His coming and His going.)
The picture shows a Wii wheel in use, which would only require one hand, for the most part. The article says their only item is a mushroom, so they would want to use that when not texting.
I would hardly call anything they make "easy money." They aren't making Candy Crushes. They are just targeting what they consider the most suitable platforms for their content. You have to realize they are two people. It's not a big studio floating on a boatload of cash. People like to idealize those who take risks, but some people are not in a position to take risks, at least to such a great degree.
I don't think anyone here would be making bold statements about what other people should do with their money if they just made a game that they worked on obsessively for a couple years without a side-job. (Random number, I forget how long they worked on Super Meat Boy and have no idea what they're working on now.)
Neat gimmick, but track creation isn't new. All this does is prevent one player from playing. Looks fun because futuristic racers and track editors are both neat, but the main selling point just seems unnecessary. Guess I'd have to experience it to get an idea for how different it is to make tracks while they are being raced.
I once tried playing Bit Trip Beat's four-player mode by myself. If the paddle's didn't shrink quite so much, it would have been do-able. Two-handed Bit Trip Beat is still fun. I should try just two feet one day. Nice way to keep hands open for a sandwich.
Looks significantly less embarrassing now. Character designers need to decide if they want their characters to look like children or pin-up models and stick to one or the other. Mixing the two is just awkward.
The fact that they have lots of great pictures of miniatures and next to zero information on how the game plays makes me expect very little here. If I were into painting, I would be interested for the figures alone, though.
I'm not sure if Jasco has made board games before. I only know of their work on UFS, which they bought and didn't design from scratch, so I'm not sure what kind of designers they have there.
Really curious as to how this is going to work, but not near curious enough to back.
I think video games should just do away with male and female characters both. I only play games where you play as plants. You guys are all wrong, you filthy kingdomists.
