Not a game developer so I can never really know what it’s like to port to any certain system. I’ll likely pick it up on one of the other systems but not being able to play a game on long commutes isn’t appealable. First world problems, indeed

They will try to capture the perfect sweet spot, Venn diagram that calls on the nostalgia of adults and the imaginations of children. Just like the Despicable Me movies. If you think about it LEGO is expensive and sells loads. This is just one demographic. And there are millions of Switch owners who have children.

Gonna get a couple of sets to keep mint in box probably. I don’t think it’ll take off. But then I had similar concerns about the Switch in general. It’s such a unique idea it might really work.

@Angelic_Lapras_King so they did! I always forget that they did. The Oracles games I always remember as being outsourced to them but not Minish Cap. I love the homage to the Zelda 1 dungeon in that game!

Me: okay, so the new story promised and the assumption that this could offer post game content has’t been delivered

I had high expectations for the second pack. Sadly these were not met. Whether that’s Nintendo’s fault or mine is up for discussion but to be honest I thought we would get some post game extension to the main story. What we got was some more disjointed trials tied up with a few cut scenes.

Maybe THIS will be the platform where the game thrives. Nintendo have a faith in this series and character that No one else has. Which is nice. Let’s hope they can resurrect that cancelled XBox exclusive. Can’t even remember what it’s called.

I’m glad I waited for my reward. What seems like ages ago I paid £15 or thereabouts for a wii u copy. I held off on a physical version but sort of glad I did knowing it’s over double the price

Those who know about switch and want one have probably already purchased one. The casuals are still of interest to Nintendo. I can see why they’re using the chance to advertise to those who might not definitely know they’re gonna make that jump

I played a bit of this on Xbox when it was released on Games for Gold (for free)
I wasn’t impressed but I’m glad for those who want it. Maybe in three to four years MS will decide to release Cuphead on other platforms.

Nintendo have released an annual Pokemon title every year for quite some time now and I can see this continuing. Therefore I reckon something Pokemon this way comes next year. Whether that’s a brand new title or a HD re-release of something we’ve seen before, not sure. But the leap from 3DS to Switch happens this year, of that I’m pretty sure

@DESS-M-8 I’m definitely inclined to agree with you - especially since my not revisiting it leaves me unable to actually confirm how I feel about stuff like the camera and the controls. But in my mind nostalgia is treating it a lot kinder than Wind Waker, which is also patchy in places. Really patchy. And it falls short of the vision of exploration and freedom sold to us all

@Kayfios I think the poll should be against flagship titles on each respective system. That would make it more fair. The poll also seems pointless as it’s not really answering the ‘which is the better franchise’ question. Seems strange.

This is all where I expected it to be, results wise. Although I chose Sunshine in the GameCube era and was in the minority by a massive margain!

super Mario world will never be upstaged. But best 3D Mario? Maybe. Mario 64 is a ropey experience nowadays and relies on nostalgia. Galaxy is a damn good game. Saying that, the Cappy thing feels like more of a gimmick than galaxy’s awesome physics, which feel a lot more organic and natural

However I hope Retro is working on something that’s not a Tropical Freeze sequel - what he said is contrary to what they’re doing with DK. I’m sort of a bit jaded by the DK series at this point. At least do a 3D iteration this time

The term ‘fan pack’ seems redundant as presumably if you’re a fan you’re more inclined to drop £80 on the collectors’ edition.
I’m disappointed I won’t get the pin badge that comes with the ‘fan pack’.

@Fooligan I’m British and root beer doesn’t really exist over here. I love the stuff. I mean really love the stuff. Everyone I know who ive forced it upon despises it. Glad there’s another human being out there who loves it.
