Capcom has just confirmed a new entry in the beloved Mega Man series during a special 30th anniversary livestream event.
Mega Man 11 will launch on Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC late next year.
Wowzer, eh? We'll update this story as we hear more. In the meantime, you might want to look out of your window to make sure cats and dogs aren't living together and all that apocalyptic jazz.

I absolutely loathe the animation shown here.
I think I speak for everyone when I say...YES!!!
It's been ages. Welcome back <3
Animation need improving big time
Fantastic news! Mega man is back, baby! Fighting. For everlasting peace!
Mega Man Collection 1-2 also confirmed!! Very excited
Yay for once Capcom finally fired all the idiots from last gen. This is what we need for this new gen going forward. Mega Man 11 for Switch (and for once it's not using those dated NES style graphics), Mega Man X HD Collection for Switch, and Mega Man Complete Legacy Collection for Switch. This is the Capcom I want back and I'm glad they are finally bringing the games.
YouTube version. You may want to update the post with this @Damo.
Yes yes yes YEEEESSSSSS!!!!
I knew it had to be something significant- they've been letting us down too long! And Mega Man Complete Legacy Collection!!
Switch version for me! No 3DS announcement huh? I'm not being picky!!
@Mommar Same getting Mighty No.9 Flashbacks with the art style... but the powers and minibosses look promising!
PLEEEEEEAAAAAAASE be good!
Yesssss!!!! It looks wonderful! I love the art style, it's a nice mix of the classic look with an updated style. Wow! Annnnnnd we're getting Mega Man Collection 1 and 2, annnnnd all the Mega Man X titles!!! 2018 is looking great. Thanks Capcom! Keep the games coming!
The cartoon art style looks sleek. Having it on the switch is sleek. This is sleek!
Okay, Capcom. I forgive you. See, it really doesn't take much!
The fact that Legacy Collections 1 & 2 AND the X Collection are coming to Switch is just icing on the cake.
This is a happy day.
Now we just need them to announce (albeit it at another time of course) the Saturday Afternoon Collection for Switch.... I now (for the first time) have high hopes for this in the future!
This has to be in response to Mighty No 9 being horrible.
I'm happy a new Mega Man game exists and being made by Capcom no less
The art style could use some extra touches... it looks a little lifeless still. Luckily I think the base is good, so it's possible it'll impress by release. And 19 Megman games next year? That's... a significant improvement. The good news is, even if Megaman 11 sucks, we'll still be get 14-16 good megaman games among them.
The legacy collections are the most exciting thing here. That’s a lot of classic Mega man games on the go. Is it the first time 9 has been available on a handheld?
Now Capcom - we need to talk about Okami...
Good... Now give us Resident evil 7 and the Saturday cartoon game collection thing
Would have preferred the NES style graphics of 9 or 10, but excellent news for sure!
So damn cool
ALL 8 megaman X games
All 10 Megaman games with the Collection 1& 2
and now Megaman 11
WOW
So:
A brand new Mega Man game, all of the mainline games, and all of the X games.
ALL COMING TO THE SWITCH!
I couldn't be happier. What happened at Capcom? I'm so used to them disappointing me!
I really ought to try the mega man series, but the difficulty of the series tends to put me down... Sooo... Any recommendations on the easiest to start with in the mainline, and also the X series?
Not bad, Capcom. Not bad at all.
I don't have any issues with the current graphics. It's all it needs to be and nothing more. I'd rather they try not to make it especially flashy like a lot of people seem to want. They probably don't have the budget for it anyway.
Also, it's extremely telling how the very first thing they showed with Mega Man 11 is gameplay, unlike Mighty No.9 which showed off concept art first.
@OfNullAndVoid Megaman 2 for mainline, also has great music!
Megaman X is probably the easiest of the X's, tougher than Megaman 2.
@Shiryu Did the Mega Man Xtreme games, for GBC, get left off the timeline?
But guys... whadda 'bout this little dude?
I forgot his name but he was suppose to be the future of Mega Man
IS THIS REAL LIFE???? I NEED TO SIT DOWN.
In the words of Tim the Tool Man Taylor:
"Bwwwaaaauuuuu????"
On the Switch no less too! Well done Capcom, well done.
Well, this is stunning news! Another company bringing their classic games to the console in a virtual manner. Hmmm...it needs a catchy name...but I'm all outta ideas. Ah! Got it! 'The Intangible Contraption!'
@GC-161 Don't worry, he already found a new future.
Killed it again. Capcom is on fire!
New, HD Mega Man... I've only been wanting this for, oh ya know... ALL MY LIFE.
All 10 main series entries and all 8 X entries too. Gosh dang.
Capcom: "So you tried better than nothing ... how did that work out?"
Pretty sad no 3DS version.
3DS never got an original Megaman...not even a multiplat.
@spider-manatee Best left forgotten...
Is this the game that we’ve been begging for for years and years?!!?! This doesn’t seem real.
I think Megaman 11 looks great, I love how it looks. I expected NES retro so was happily surprised to see it look more 32bit. Much better than that monstrosity Mighty Number 9 anyway.
I'm not a huge Megaman fan myself, I find the games hugely over rated. I quite like X1 and 2 and I've never played the rest of that series so I'll get that collection along with Megaman 11 for sure. Really good news overall though. Now how about a Capcom Beat-em-up collection? Or Nintendo V's Capcom? How good would that be!
@WaveBoy #36 If you don't want it, I'll take it.
Not going to lie: I was disappointed with Capcom myself on how they handled Mega Man throughout the years. Seeing the announcement of this, Mega Man X Collection, and Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 coming to Switch made me a happy man.
...but I still have the scars from them cancelling Mega Man Universe
I’m getting Sonic 4 Vibes from the animation style...
I’d much have preferred a style of the Super Nintendo games like Sonic Mania.
@Pikachupwnage The 3DS did got the first Mega Man Legacy Collection though. Just sad that we never got Mega Man Legends 3.
I’m not the biggest Mega Man fan, but all this news is absolutely crazy. I would never have expected Mega Man 1-10, ELEVEN, and Mega Man X 1-8 to come to the Switch!
Mega Man 1-10 + 11 and Mega Man X 1-8 all on Switch.
Couldn't be happier right now.
@Pikachupwnage Well, maybe not original but the 3DS had this:
This:
And this:
I am so, so happy right now. Brand new Mega Man, both Legacy Collections and an X series collection all coming to the Switch, oh lord.
@Armbouncer
Tell me about it!
Great news!
Not sure about the art style, though...
Excellent news! After several Mega Man titles got cancelled, this is a bit hard to believe but I'm happy regardless. The collections on Switch are a nice bonus.
um..what
YES! YES! YES! I am getting this for the PS4! Not only does it look great, but it fixes the two issues I had with Mega Man 9 and 10.
It gave Mega Man back his charge shot and slide!
After getting Sonic Mania, I'm down for some more retro goodness.
Knew and said capcom would be up to something! All those nah sayers .........
YES!
SUPER FIGHTING ROBOT
MEGAMAN
@Mommar lol reminds me of mighty no 9. They couldn't even cross-promote a bundle with 7-Eleven with Megaman 7-11. Just sad, but people go into fan stuff for megaman if not gunvolt these days.
Looks pretty uninspired. Don't think 2.5D fits Mega very well either. Personally I've had enough 2D Mega Man, unless they can really knock it out. I want more Legends.
I'm cautiously excited.
@StephenYap3 Maybe watching Sonic Mania be a massive success brought Capcom to their senses regarding Mega Man. After all, they were the first company to bring back a retro franchise to modern systems, and Mega Man is still a very vaulable brand.
Plus, given Mighty Number 9, they have a chance to show that they can do Mega Man better then any copy could hope to do. Hopefully, Capcom is all in on this game and makes it good.
I already like the fact that the Slide from MM3 and the Charge Shot from MM 4 are back. I enjoyed Mega Man 9 and 10, but they sometimes drew too much from Mega Man 2 at the expense of dropping features from the later games.
Mega Man has a new cartoon coming in the new year. Maybe this is Capcom doing their best to bring him back to the mainstream with two collections and a new game.
No thanks. More 2D nonsense. It's time to move on.
I could not be more pleased! X3
YES, thank you Capcom! I'm going to be buying all of these games.
The way they animated Mega Man walking feels a bit off, as does a lot of the other animations. Still curious to see what comes from this, though!
It looks incredible. Exactly how I always imagined an HD Mega Man would look.
I love how that crane rotates around and you dodge when it crosses the 2D plane. 2.5D is awesome. I love the look of Mega Man as well. I was afraid when this day finally came they would butcher his appearance. But it looks great and I couldn't be happier!
Like the artsyle, animation needs some work. Still looks better than what mighty number 9 looked like at release.
Nice of them to remember the Legends series, at least.
The art direction needs to be more cohesive. I'm getting that same visual disconnect that I had from Mega Man 8. Not saying the game is gonna be bad, but when the main character looks out of place with the rest of the environment it's really hard to ignore. Also, that jump is off. He needs to hang in the air just a tiny bit longer. And his run cycle looks like he's skating. Which further throws me off.
We'll see how it goes. I'm happy Capcom's actually doing something with Mega Man, though. It's been too long.
They showed everything I expected them to show. I'm not disappointed. I have never played MM8-10 or any X games besides the first one. I didn't download many games back during the Wii era so I skipped 9 and 10. As for X series, I've waited for compilation since Europe never got the GameCube one. Buying all the games individially costs quite a bit and they're not all for Nintendo consoles so VC is a no-go in some cases. Then there's also Mega Man 11. That's 11 Mega Man games I've never played. I'm in for a treat next year.
@FX102A "I don't think so, Tim... "
About time so so happy the blue bomber is back and looking better than ever
There's something interesting about the art style. Its clearly a 3D engine, but they are presenting most of the level assets as 2D, not slightly 3/4s view. Like Mega Man 8 did. I approve.
@LeRaposa "No thanks. More 2D nonsense. It's time to move on."
This means that for the first time ever, Mega Man X7 and X8 will be playable on actual Nintendo hardware (never owned PS hardware myself). I'm finally going to be able to complete the X series!
Needless to say, I'm well aware how divisive X7 was. I'll finally be able to see whether the 3D sections work as well as the 2D ones. One thing I'm not looking forward to is the reploid rescuing aspect. That was a frustrating aspect of X6.
I wonder if they'll use the SNES or PSX version of X3 in this collection. If it's the PSX version, I have good reason to hold on to my Wii U and the X3 I have in it.
Never played a mega man game, hopefully this games gives some back story
Looks like their on the Switch Track now!!
Finally!!
Wahooooo
I'm excited!
The art style is fine looking, like Mega Man Maverick Hunter X for PSP, only better. Probably as good a translation from 2D to 3D as we could ever hope for. I don't understand the complaining. I'm super stoked for it.
19. freakin'. MM. games. next. year.
All's forgiven.
We muzt wecovah aw deh games immediately W-Mega Man!
@StuTwo It's the first time both 9 and 10 have been on a handheld to my knowledge! And I finally get to play X8 as well!
I can't help but wonder if all the people that are complaining about the 2.5D art style of the new Mega Man are equally disgruntled by the Donkey Kong Country games...
I-I'm just... So... Happy!
Looks a bit like Mighty No 9...
when you're smash counterpart looks better than you on an older console :/
@ThanosReXXX
"I can't help but wonder if all the people that are complaining about the 2.5D art style of the new Mega Man are equally disgruntled by the Donkey Kong Country games..."
Hahaha, amen to that.
@Deadstanley Word about the running animation, but I do have faith that it will improve as development progresses. They have almost a year until release!
@ThanosReXXX Precisely. 2.5D worked wonders for DKC, no reason why it shouldn't for Mega Man. All we really need is good level / weapon design on top of that.
I think the animation is surprisingly slick in motion. It retains the frames of previous games' pixel art, while applying a psudo-3D layer to it. I admit the screenshots were kinda meh, but seeing it in motion made me like it way more.
Lots of people comparing the art style to Mighty No. 9, but it seems less like 3D cell shading and more like 2.5D-type graphics. I think it looks amazing.
@WaveBoy I happen to like doom on switch so to each his own. Capcom originally asked Nintendo to add more ram to the switch because they were testing the waters for a possible Re7 port.
Incoming email youtube notifications BAHHHHHH!!!
It looks awesome. I don't agree with the complaints so far at all.
@ThanosReXXX "I can't help but wonder if all the people that are complaining about the 2.5D art style of the new Mega Man are equally disgruntled by the Donkey Kong Country games..."
^
Hey it's Mighy No. 9 minus all of the garbage... at least I hope!
It's not doing much for me. Should've done another NES style revival.
Not a Mega Man fan but i still hope this game sells very well(unless its bad of course).
It would be a shame if one of the earliest and most important videogame franchises disappeared.
@bezerker99: Is that the Mega Man amiibo I helped you find or was it Sonic?
@WaveBoy: Did you get a Switch? I'll snatch all this Mega Man on PS4.
By god they’ve done it. Its gonna be a one hell of a year next year!!!!!!
I’m sure everyone has noticed that those that were cagey about Switch are now jumping on board! And quite right too. When Nintendo do it right they really do get it right!
I'm not diggin that art style but if the game will be good, i wont mind
I'd be happy for this... but then I remembered about the upcoming animated show. Guys, Capcom simply doesn't want us to think they think the only Megaman-related thing coming next year is the show, hence the game.
The day has finally come: we must be thankful to Avi Arad. (Any Marvel fan here might be shuddering.)
I think this put a smile on everyone face.
This is awesome, but much like the news of Sonic Mania before it came out I'm hesitant but hopeful.
Just popped in and heard the news. Unbelievable. I said on a post that MM11 was not likely and well, wow, good job Capcom. HOWEVER... I will need to do some research here-- Is Capcom "making" MM11, or is it another dev? I'm not confident in just Capcom making it, and would rather it be Inti-Creates. Also, will MM11 be 100% Inafune-less?
@Giygas_95 I thought so. 9 is such a great game (& 10 is no slouch either even if it’s a slight level below).
We just need to see prices & whether we’re getting a nice physical version.
Absolutely unexpected, but I'm certainly very happy with this news! Now let's hope they make a good game out of this, too.
@StuTwo
Thanks for mentioning Okami. A portable Okami would have been awesome.
Regarding this, I am excited. Of course giving us so many games will put pressure on 11 being great.
Thanks for doing something smart for once, Capcom. Keep it up.
Woooooo! Life long fan of the series, so I'm especially excited!
The style and animation are a bit off, but if the game has a whole year before it comes out, this must be early stage footage.
Wow!!! Looks great, I'm a fan of the art style. Staying somewhat true to the original while being updated.
Other than Metroid there's no other game I'm looking more forward to. Legacy collections will be nice too.
@justin233 Oh come on, we already got 9 and 10, it's time to change, evolve and be creative! It was getting stale.
@RaphaBoss I was just giving my personal preference. I didn’t care for 7 or 8 for much the same reason. I just like the look of pixels better. You can certainly be creative while using them.
i think it looks fine. certainly much better than Mighty No 9. kinda reminds me a little bit of cuphead tbh.
Glad when I got rid of most my Amiibo I just kept Mega Man and 8bit Mario/Link. Good choices.
Looks very bad imho.
He's alive! He's alive!!!
Wow, just wow...
I do like the art style. The main concern I have is how the game control/feels. The number one criticism of MM7 (wasn't a problem to me, but for many others) was that the timing of jumps and so on felt off compared to the NES games. Hopefully controls are good. The design is a clear jab at Mighty No. 9 in my eyes.
I saw a lot of Negativity on this announcement. Were people so burned by Mighty Number 9 that it killed it for them?
Hark! Is that actually a new Mega Man game?
Hell hath indeed frozen over.
Wait, WHAT ?!
I guess Capcom is NOT a Backstabber.
Now, Capcom should localize Monster Hunter XX Switch in English version, bring back Disney Collections and a New Monster Hunter for Switch. Oh, Capcom should give at least One Rhythm games such as Cross x Beats to Nintendo Switch. I wanna play Capcom Rhythm games with musics mostly created by Naoki Maeda, a former Dance Dance Revolution Sound Director from Konami.
Is it just me or does he look better in Smash 4?
Could this mean there's hope for the Legends series as well? Eh, that might be too much wishful thinking.
@SimplyCinnamon53 evil scientist reprograms robots to conquer the world. Rock, a good robot wants to save the world, so Dr. Light his creator upgrades Rock to Megaman!
If you want a deeper plot please listen to the Protomen rock operas Act I and II. They're pretty awesome.
Uninspiring aesthetics!
I like somethings better than others...I would have preferred more of a 16-bit look like sonic mania...looks kinda floaty to me though. We'll see if the performance can stay locked at 60 FPS.
Making this available on all platforms is a great move on Capcoms part . They should release Okami HD on switch too. I think it'll sell really well. Even better than on PS4.
Now how about a new MegaMan Legends Capcom?
Really good news here!
I've played most of these games, and cosidering both my free time and backlog, I don't think I will be getting collections.
Though, I'm all for it's success, maybe Capcom would even bring Legends 3, huh?
Looking foward to Megaman 11
Cool, hopefully there's an easy mode for casuals.
Super Mario Odyssey, Sonic Mania, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, and now Mega Man 11. There's been a lot for people who like classic platformers. Now let's see a new Rayman game.
that's more like it!
See... These are the games perfect for the Switch. No point in trying to compete for the AAA home console games - just get the simple games that work well as a handheld game.
@OfNullAndVoid Mega Man 6 is probably the easiest of the classic series. Aside from the Robot Masters not having obvious weaknesses, the game has a generous learning curve.
@Agramonte I gotta agree with you. While massive games are great, the high concept smaller games are the most fun for me. We're getting crazy mileage from Bomberman. Five player chaos is an intense experience. (We have controllers for 8 players, but not enough people haha.)
Pretty awesome! Hopefully we can get back to a place where games regularly come to "Xbox One, PS4, and Switch"!
I'm gonna remain pessimistic towards Capcom. Last game we got was Mega Man 10, then Legends 3 and Mega Man Universe both got cancelled as the entire series, including Zero, NT, and ZX, suffered a long period of complete silence. I'm glad a new game is coming next year, but it's gonna take more than a new Classic Mega Man game and a few compilation games before I believe Mega Man is truly "back."
So... With the amount of "trust" that Capcom has these days, would it be safe to assume that this could be the ~official~ version of MN9?
@LeRaposa
is that a bad thing?
now we wait for nacmo to announced the 5 big games they got for switch sometime this week.
That's pretty cool.
fanboy intensifies
YES!!!!!!! MEGAMAN IS MY CHILDHOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@MoonKnight7
I loved DKC At the time, and I think it still holds up today. But this new Megaman looks ugly and amazingly generic to me. Just my personnal opinion, noone needs to agree with this, it just does.
@Agramonte Naw, son...
Not everyone thinks quality gaming is having to stay at home.
Looks forgettable.
I want to like this. I really do. I don’t.
I guess I can't complain as this looks really rad for a HD 2D MegaMan game, however I would still like to see the Blue Bomber in a 3D adventure, something along the lines of Ratchet and Clank maybe.
Saw that graphic style, and I die smiling at how Capcom, the death of Mega Man, robbed the corpse of Mighty No. 9 and restored the life its Kickstarter sucked out of it! For all the crap this bizarro year's thrown at us, at least this much can bring light to muh day.
@dudujencarelli What's wrong with PS X3? Just curious. I heard it feels more "complete" with the FMV cut scenes...
@spideyroxas Which I really didn't find as the issue with that game. The controls were it's biggest problem and were off, big time. Unless we are conflating the two, then yes.
@GC-161 Na, that is like watching the premier of The Last Jedi on my iPhone on the go. Even if I could - no thanks.
To each their own. But I'll make time to play Monster Hunter World at home in full glory and Battle Chasers or Hollow Knights on my Switch.
No need to limit my experience at home because that is what I did on the bus.
@Agramonte Let's not make lousy half-baked comparisons of things that do not exist and instead focus on something tangible and real.
FACT: The Switch lets you play at home and to CONTINUE playing the same game on the go.
So instead of having no choice but to spend days cooking up inside a basement playing a long arse game like Skyrim, you can do that & also take an arrow to the knee on the go. Enjoying some fresh air (and a nice drink & snack)
So yeah... that's a big F-no to the idea of AAA skiping Switch. Maybe that only works for you, tho.
@GC-161 Again - no reason to have a crappier experience when at home because that is what you did on the bus.
I played Wolfenstein 2 on our 47inch TV @60FPS at MAX settings. I can play another game that fits the Switch better enjoying some fresh Air. And I have the best possible experience in both situation with BOTH games.
Also, NYC apartments do not have basements that we can actually use.
@WaveBoy, you forgot Capcom is also bringing the ace attorney series next year for the switch..
I only ever dabble in the world of the blue bomber and even I think this looks great! Also excited for the legacy definitive collection just for when I feel like a good old fashioned punch in the gut. I neglected it last gen because 1, wasn't enough games to warrant a purchase from me, and 2, not on a Switch
The graphics are much more Little Tikes than I'd like, but I'll take a new Mega Man.
I like the look, it's WayFordward-y, which is a compliment. Hoping it plays well. As welcome as the 8-bit style was in 9 and 10, that can't be kept up forever.
@Magrane To put it simply, it's because the PSX version is not the original one. The game was designed as a 16 bit SNES title. The original just sounds better (effects and soundtrack). Plus, I feel rhe PSX anime cutscenes feel rather out of place with the game's own tone, rooted in 16 bit graphics and design conventions.
It's also a matter of preference. I can appreciare remakes, but I'll always favor the original version (Il'l take the NES Mario titles over the All-Stars games any day). And the PSX X3 wasn't really a remake but a port.
Plus, X4 and MM8 handled the cutscenes and gameplay transitions better.
It's better than nothing.
Not sure I’m crazy about the art style.
It's about time. 2018 is going to be a amazing year for gaming.
@Agramonte This. I've said it before but the Switch needs it's own library of games to thrive in the gaming world, not the same as its competitors because otherwise, why not just buy a PS4/XB1/PC? An unique library of great game, even if they are smaller, will be what makes the Switch stand out when we asset its legacy a generation from now.
@Agramonte
Nope. I want all types of games on the Switch, high level AAA games and smaller Indy games. The more games the Nintendo Switch has the better for everyone.
If you want a handheld with niche titles buy a PSVITA.
Capcom may claim the title of my favourite game developer if this and Monster Hunter World turn out to be great games. I don't think MHW will dissapoint it might even become my favourite game of 2018, I see Capcom going in the right direction. I pray they deliver.
Wowww how did i mis this! This game is a must have for me.
classic megaman action! Just love it. Nice to have it on the go for the switch.
@GC-161
Haha that arrow to the knee never gets old
This megaman almost gave the same feeling when he was anounced for smashbros. Perfect match, glad they revived him in this way, they should stick to the 2.5D megaman, never liked the 3D megaman games.
Great news. I am feeling a bit teary.. Tears of joy not the tears of an anime fan on a prom night.
I'd like them to make more Megaman games that are based off of or from a series other than the original series.
Legends, X, Zero, ZX (which ended on a cliffhanger), Battle Network, Starforce, etc.
Now people can finally stop complaining about Capcom? We get Revelations 2 and we get the Mega Man games. We get a new Phoenix Wright game. We don't get Monster Hunter World because it would run like rubbish on Switch hardware.
@GC-161 Beck is such an awesome character that I hope Inti Creates buys it. Inti has done way more cool stuff with him than Comcept ever did.
@DarkKirby I want a new X and a new Legends.
@BlueOcean we still can get MH World Portable.
Hurrah, finally a new one...but its polygons. This is definitely not what people wanted. But it can't be as bad as Mighty no 9, right? It looks just okay, so I'll wait and see.
@Ryno Yep - that's THE Mega Man amiibo you got for me! Good to hear from you again, dude!
@JJ286 Maybe they can do something with the character. But they'll need to get rid of that Inafune baggage that will haunt him for eternity.
@Agramonte Again, that's just you.
You can't play on handhelds. That's a fact that applies to just you.
Don't assume that's how it is to the millions who enjoy handheld gaming just as much as home console gaming. Like in Japan for instance.
Wow! Didn't see this coming. Awesome news and thank God it has modern graphics and not Mega Man 9 & 10 retro graphics. It's about time we saw an evolved art style from Mega Man 7 & 8!
I really hope Nintendo makes some more Amiibo for this! though the chances are slim i guess
@GC-161 Nop, I like handheld gaming as much as the next guy.
But not now playing all of my favorite AAA games at 600p with blurry AA and craptastic FPS. I can find time to play at home on a more powerful home console/PC if that gives me a better experience in a game I really like. And just play something like MegaMan 11 on the Switch on the Go.
@Agramonte Again, that's just you.
@GC-161 nope, That is everyone still buying PS4s and Gtx1060s and let Switch Doom and Fifa die on the charts and still snapping up Kingdom Battle and Sonic. But, good luck with that
@Agramonte Meanwhile Switch is currently beating the PS4 in hardware sales. Especially in Japan.
So that explains why more AAA games should find a home on the Switch.
And they will. Stay tuned.
@GC-161 japan not the world - and they BOTH doing extremely well.
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/31/sony-earnings-q2-2017.html
@Agramonte Nah, Switch is currently #1 in sales in the US too.
From the same source you posted:
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/21/nintendo-switch-yoga-pants-small-brands-set-to-win-holidays.html
And from GameStop. The biggest retailer in the US:
https://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/310187/GameStops_earnings_rise_thanks_to_demand_for_new_games_and_Nintendos_Switch.php
Expect to see more AAA support on Switch, mah boi.
But just look, don't touch. 😉
Was that a stealth "Ghostbusters" reference?
@Agramonte Not everyone is willing or can afford to buy a second console. For Nintendo only gamers like me, we want as many AAA and other titles on the Switch as possible. Nothing is stopping you from playing the multiplatform games on your PS4, but we want some of the action, too.
Also, don't forget that Nintendo releases plenty of AAA console games of their own that will never see the light of day on other consoles such as Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, Xenoblade, etc.
I’m just waiting for the devil to show up at the Capcom offices:
“Now look what you’ve done! You’ve frozen everything! Do you have any IDEA how long it takes to get the pilot light lit?!”
That said, announcing a Mega Man Legacy Collection 3 (of color remakes of the Game Boy Mega Man and X games), and that we’re getting an Amiibo of Brick Mega Man would make it perfect.
@BulbasaurusRex oh for sure. And as a fan of those games It be great for as many people to play them as possible.
I'm just saying not every game can be shoehorn into the Switch and people will just go buy it. So you get a FIFA 18 that fails when maybe EA's UNRAVEL would have done well to start with. Now we will probably never know.
Ubisoft didn't try to make a crippled AC:O, they made Battle Kingdom (a hit) Maybe A better solution for AC on Switch is a side story like they did with AC: Liberation on the VITA.
Well, untill it gets emulated 😁. Kidding aside, not saying they are not (and Dragon Quest, Metroid will be also) - just that it is ok to get SF and now MegaMan11 from Capcom and have them figure out what shape MonsterHunter can come to the Switch later.
@Agramonte Well, we're saying people who don't have a PS4 or XBOne will buy those games on Switch despite the technical sacrifices that need to be made in porting them to the Switch as long as they're not poorly optimized ports or missing crucial content. Sure, they won't sell anywhere near as much as the definitive versions on the other consoles, but they will still generally sell enough to cover the costs of making the Switch port. There's no reason Capcom couldn't have given us "Street Fighter V" alongside their remastered Street Fighter II game
@BulbasaurusRex oh, 100% agree on Street Fighter V.
@GC-161 again - na, their year end forecast is actually higher
