@Dev the release date is also a concern of mine.
However the timing of this preview - just before the Nindies showcase - could mean something. Perhaps the Switch version will be confirmed for launch in the showcase. Maybe I'm just getting my hopes up!!

I've opted to switch around my previous Wii U order to, erm, Switch. But if the Switch version is released beyond late April as per the other formats, I'm going to NEED to play this elsewhere. Might get the physical XBone release

Re: Dragon Quest Heroes I | II Download on Nintendo Switch Will Definitely Need a Micro SD Card

The '32gb is ridiculous' argument has been kicking around for ages and it is what it is. Hard drive/flash memory' is expensive, SD cards cheaper. Just buy physical or by a card to expand the storage. I can totally get over this because I won't purchase digital games unless there is no boxed version. When life hands you lemons, buy boxed. Simple

I have 500GB on my XBox One. I buy exclusively physical titles and I still have to write them to the drive in order to play. AND find the disc out every time I play a game. With double the space I'd still probably have to delete certain games on the hard drive just to play others. The amount of space on the console is proportionate to the size of the titles. It's one of them. I've got Better things to worry about like what games are there out there!

Re: Talking Point: The Nintendo Switch Could Revive Local Multiplayer

It comes with two controllers as standard, so to speak, with the JoyCon (meant as plural - there is no 's' like 'sheep', 'amiibo' or 'trout')
It's the first console to do this since the Famicom unless I'm wrong.
It's an ideal opportunity to pick up and play without any additional cost. And that's a good thing.

Re: Official Financial Results Q&A Clarifies Kimishima's "3DS Successor" Comment

I'm not sure how far they can take gaming with a 3DS successor. If it continues to sell then I expect a 'successor' to be an incremental hardware bump but nothing more than that.
You've got the adult and child areas of gaming. Switch is clearly targeting adult gamers and I expect there to be plenty of Member Berries on Switch 'member F-Zero? Member 1080 Snowboarding?' 'I member!' It'll aim to appease the hardcore as long as they can get that third party support.
The 3DS will be the kid friendly console that will introduce gamers to dumbed down iterations of classic franchises such as Pikmin (see: Pikmin 3DS)

Re: Talking Point: Important Features Yet to be Revealed for the Nintendo Switch

Touchscreen is relatively easy to discern: they are trying to differentiate themselves from the tablet market. Wii U will always be 'the tablet controller' and looked like a piece of rubbish next to iPad and othe tablets.

I don't know why they won't show the UI. I think it's because of many very early NX rumours that stated the console was running a version of Android. While it's clearly not running Android, I think the interface could resemble this more than usual. Also: see above point re: touchscreen. They don't want to muddy the message. Drip feeding information helps with ensuring consumers aren't overwhelmed and it avoids people making assumptions. The reveal trailer was to sell the hybrid nature of the console; the presentation was about the joy cons and the functionality they provide. The games took a backseat; but I believe they will supply a steady stream of titles and will covet third party support. For how long I'm not sure but still, could happen.

Re: Tomorrow Corporation is Bringing Its Back Catalogue to Nintendo Switch at Launch

For all the people bemoaning too many ports and saying fanboys are just defending a lack of new content, look at it this way: what if Nintendo are going with more of an 'app store' approach this time around? There were no games on the eshop at Wii U launch and the eshop wasn't even available on 3DS. buy these digital games, don't buy them, but they're there for those who want them and a library of games is steadily being built.
