The sequel to a niche title ported from an unpopular console, the third entry of a series that was dormant for a good few years. This is unsurprising to me, too.

The vinyl record is a thing of beauty. If it was the soundtrack to the N64s Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, I would probably be able to justify the high shipping costs to the UK but sadly I don’t have the emotional attachment to the music on this one. Shame!

I don’t feel short changed by this game at all. They’re the games I enjoyed back in the day with a bit of HD sheen.

Loving it as is, emulation or not. Except I’m rubbish at Sunshine. Don’t even think I finished it back in the day. I’m reminded how i just can’t aim straight. Much like life.

Not sure whether Mario Kart has ever really been a holiday title. Plus with 8 selling like hot cakes I’m skeptical.

Byleth seems like the odd one out in this fighter pack, being a Nintendo character as opposed to a third party addition. I reckon they had something third party planned for the DLC but for whatever reason it wasn’t ready on time. Therefore they’ve rushed out a backup plan. There are now 6 new characters for the next round - they’ve added on the other character to that DLC. makes sense to me.

Simple economics: Nintendo is restricting the stock of the normal Switch SKU in order to shift some of the Switch Lite stock currently in store and in online company warehouses.

I strongly now believe that this will happen. If it doesn’t everyone will wonder just why Joker is in Smash ... the P5 logo was displayed when they revealed the DLC at the Game Awards. Surely they would have displayed the Persona dungeon crawler logo as per the game coming out on 3DS. Surely?

I'm not into Pokemon per se, but has it really been 23 years? I s'pose it has. Before it came to the UK and it was known by the now-household 'Pokemon', I remember becoming confused, thinking Matchbox's Monsters in My Pocket had made a comeback. No-one remembers them now. They were tiny, 2'' plastic representations of characters from folklore and horror movies.

I can see a Nintendo/MS ‘meeting of minds’ here. This could open up opportunities to collaborate on hardware; there could be mergers and some overlap with IP.
I think we’ll see Banjo on Switch.
I think MS want to get their games on anything big in the handheld space and that rather than take the plunge when their own home console business is at best (the west) in third place and at worst (the orient) circling the drain. I think MS will once again try to buy Nintendo. Or try to become a major shareholder.

I'd stake my life on the fact that Switch units represent a small to medium majority of the numbers sold here. Which is something no one ever thought they could say for a Nintendo version of a game!!
