Bought this on Wii U. Didn't like it enough to double dip but happy for those that want to, or didn't get to play the first time around. Don't mind Wii U ports one bit - if they can make some money back or entice fans to towards these games then I'm that's awesome in my eyes
@WaveBoy Nintendo logic: happy to essentially re-hash 2D Kirby again and again but won't make a new F-Zero because they apparently can't provide anything new.
I'll be honest: not sold on this. It looks beautiful and looks to be a proper 2D Kirby, but I was expecting the Kirby Switch debut to be a proper 3D title - and I think the developers sort of alluded to that in an interview a while ago. More of the same is good sometimes but I was expecting a new direction for this series.
If it looks good, I'll consider buying it. If it doesn't interest me, I won't.
What is completely counter productive is taking time out to hit message boards and news story comments, dispairing that it shouldn't exist, or using expert judgement to decide it'll be rubbish, despite having not really ever seen any gameplay images.
I don't know how anyone else could feasibly market Skyrim for Switch. Skyrim on the go or 'here's another port of a 2011 game on a home console'. Switch is a hybrid console. It can be whatever you want it to be, and marketed whatever way. AAA titles taken anywhere is fair enough
They're sitting on the biggest game library of any of the three main hardware platform holders. They need to get over the idea of underselling it and make games the games like running water, always on tap. Charging like $10 for NES games is kind of ridiculous, as is making people pay thee or four times for the same game. It needs to be fluid and it needs to be constant
@Anti-Matter oh I definitely have an interest in any new Nintendo IP. I love the game's aesthetic and colourful palette. I'll persist and give it another go when the next TestPunch happens
didnt enjoy my 20 minutes of ARMS. I believe there was supposed to be a short tutorial at the beginning. Somehow I skipped through it. The description of the controls really didn't help with movement of your player. So I couldn't really move around and therefore kept getting beaten. I couldn't do the tutorial so as said after less than half an hour I turned it off and didn't go back. I might give the Test Punch one last try next week. I really want to like this, and support a new IP, but I don't fair (fare?) too well with competitive titles anyway because I'm usually a bit rubbish!
I don't know this series beyond the NES stuff but I'm struggling with this article - the link to a westernised version of said game seems a bit tenuous based on the tweet - sorry I don't follow.
The two games showcased are probably 'evergreen titles' since the tour goes on until December. There'll be a lot more games out by then. They're probably trying to capture the causal family gamer fan using these two titles. Other games will be promoted another way
Another financial article, another use of that Kimishima/Mario horde picture. Not complaining it's an awesome image. Someone funny needs to turn it into a meme
People see artwork and speculate 'maybe it'll be a good game' Well from the promotional art and accompanying press release - seems like a 6 out of 10 to me. Be sure to read my hypothetical review policy.
People need to calm the f down. And I didn't really take to the overly negative bias in the article. If people don't want to own this thus far hypothetical video game, vote with your wallet
I loved Jet Force Gemini back in the day, but found the XBone port virtually unplayable. We have been spoilt by modern gaming, it seems, and some of those 64-bit games haven't really stood the test of time, unfortunately.
Colour me interested in this. But those non Sega games make this a slightly more tacky machine. I could just never play them but it sort of puts a blemish on proceedings. I'm interested in playing the Phantasy Star titles though, which the previously iterations of the Megadrive lacked.
I can see it being free to play with micro transactions. They won't touch the Run model again. As long as it's not 2D Zelda-like with awful touch screen controls I could get behind it.
On the subject of the VC, I reckon this time they'll go for a two tier online play model, the higher of which giving users access to a full, growing library of VC titles; a similar model to Netflix, if you will. That's what I'm hoping, anyway.
I backed on Wii u and changed my reward to the Switch version quite blindly. Was going to pick it up for another format but the reviews put paid to that. I'm happy to wait on the Switch version knowing that it wasn't quite technically sound.

3DS is fine for me. Looking forward to playing it this year.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's Big Switch and 3DS Reveals at E3 on Day One?
MIA: Pikmin 4. I'm hoping Miyamoto's comments to the game weren't a mistranslation and that 'Hey! Pikmin' wasn't 'a forth Pikmin game'
Re: Koopa Troopa and Goomba amiibo Figures Are on the Way
The koopa is pretty cute.

Re: Super Mario Odyssey Features 2D Wall-Merging Gameplay, Like A Zelda We Could Mention
They've really injected something special into Mario here. Didn't think it would work at first but they knocked this out of the park.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE please specify why you don't think so; if all of the Stars are aligned I can't for any reason see why not.
Re: Pokkén Tournament DX Confirmed For Nintendo Switch
Hardly surprusing, this one. Revealing it at E3 adds to the 'too many ports' patter. Announcing it in a pokemon direct adds to the hype
