Ha! People are going to hate these games without realising what a stroke of genius it is for Nintendo!

This is a good thing to increase Switch user base yet further. It ties in with Nintendo’s smart phone game strategy enticing customers to dedicated systems, and it’ll likely bring Pokémon Go back into the phone software charts as well.
I’m not a Pokemon player myself but if I was I wouldn’t be frustrated that they’ve decided to put this out as a spin off release; this is a stop gap release but it’s also a stroke of genius

I’m pretty sure the main line FE game for Switch was announced during an FE Nintendo Direct last year, rather than E3.

Earlier this year Atlas seemed to backtrack a little and claim not to know what format this would be released for. It could come to switch. Either way I’m in

Expecting online on Switch to be free forever is naive. The online on previous consoles was compromised because it was offered for free. Paying a small fee will likely result in a more robust experience. And it’s not bad value for money. The NES games sugar the pill a bit. And everyone has been after cloud saves for some time now.

A little bit of a touch of genius if you think about it: MH has found a wider audience with Worlds. Capcom waiting for that to come out means bigger awareness. If they market it right, it’ll sell by the crap ton.

Why does Megaman 2 always get the spotlight and is always the series poster boy? IMO it’s one of the worst ones. Maybe I’m saying that because I couldn’t beat it. Megaman 3 was when the series started getting really good

Stop referring to Switch as a handheld. That’s not the official Nintendo line on Switch... it’s a home console with handheld capabilities

Did THQ publish the original? I thought they went out of business prior to the release of the Stick of Truth and Ubi took over publishing it.

Also - for those talking about full price, I’ve managed to preorder at £35, which I think is pretty reasonable. Expecting a publisher to bring this down - at six months of age - to current Xbox/PS4 prices is a bit unrealistic. £35 is good value IMO

You’d never see a fan site for another format report a game’s re-emergence back into the upper echelons of a sales chart, which means to me that it’s such a shock Nintendo is doing so well. I still have to kick myself, it seems...

Never played this but always been aware of it. It’s the game they said they’d never release on a Nintendo platform, of course. Nice for those who want it - and sure I’ll give it a go!

The official magazine and its writers still carry a certain amount of journalistic license. The magazine is licenced by Nintendo but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a degree of speculation

I believe they’re still hedging their bets waiting for the install base for switch to get even bigger

@JoeyJoeJoe there is a terrible bias here lately. I don’t understand why certain correspondents on this site seek to consistently remind us that Switch is going to be underpowered.

Nintendo’s official store is run by Zavvi (or their parent company) this detracts from the legitimacy of this listing, albeit only a little bit. Also, the official store usually only posts listings for preordered games a month or two before the official release date. If the Switch version is even further in the future than September they wouldn’t posted the listing until July or August at the earliest.

You wouldn’t dare even to read that sort of bias on the apparent ‘anti-Nintendo’, multi-format sites. Naturally assuming any port is going to be compromised graphically because of previous games and going as far as to state this fact in an article, doesn’t exactly represent the balanced journalism one comes to expect from NintendoLife

My favourite video game related book is Video Games You’ll Never Play by Unseen64. A fantastic compendium of cancelled titles on a myriad of systems. I choose this one not because I contributed to it but because because the wealth of knowledge relating to the subject of canned games is astounding and it features some really talented writing and research.

Someone needs to reboot Theme Hospital for Switch. Or apply the same sort of treatment Stardew Valley did to the farming sim!

@Joe-b bring on Pikmin 4!! That game series has done more for my sanity than probably any other in existence!

I’d much sooner get the Wonderful 101 or Pikmin 3 than this pleasant but rudimentary 2D platformer. Maybe those two are also coming. Won’t be double dipping on this one, but I hope those who wanted to play it but missed out because they refused to purchase a Wii U, will be afforded the opportunity at a price they can afford.

The game sold well at launch according to reports from Konami themselves. Why wouldn’t they want to keep some of that momentum? Not sure why people would feel precious about keeping this a Switch exclusive.

Played the demo for a few minutes. Wasn’t convinced like a few other people. It’s very slow placed and a bit mundane so I won’t be getting this as I have too much to play.

It’ll be called Smash Bros for Nintendo Switch. They have continued to work on DLC for the game. They will combine all content from the 3DS iteration and update with additional stages and classics from other titles. However they will utilise the engine, character balancing and other inner workings of the previous Wii U version

Okay not read all the comments but there seems to be little to no love for Axiom Verge. I’m still playing through but it’s the best Metroidvania game I’ve played outside of CastleTroid titles...

Switch is the console wii u should have been. Simple. It owes as much to its failure as a system as it does to what wii u did. Dropping the wii u branding was crucial as was severing the invisible tether that was Wii Us game pad to its hardware.
If Nintendo could have erased 2012-2017 I’m sure they would have done. Fair play - they’ve done it right and done it well

It’s not about restricting your advertising, it’s about controlling it. Which is fair enough. Not covering Nintendo because it’s not seen as valuable is a decision based purely on greed. Such is life.

The other logos were all for parent companies rather than individual franchises or sub brands. For example,Sony or Netflix. If this was the case they’d presumably lead with a Nintendo logo.

That said I’d be happy to see Ness and Poo Funko POP figures
