@The-Chosen-one I played the entire game to nearly 100% and have to say that calling it a horrible port is not really accurate. It runs great, is extremely playable, and most of all is fun. Could it and should it have gone further and been better in areas, of course. The internet makes it very easy to have your opinion get skewed too negatively. Most of the time things aren't as bad as people are shouting about.

I've been playing this on PC for about a year. It's a LOT of fun.

That said... I am still going to play the hell out of this. 100%.

The "open world" was a flat plane. It made the city in No More Heroes feel richly populated by comparison. I really do hope that the bike is just there for a couple set piece battles and interstitial sequences. Because what they showed was very very bland.

@Pillowpants But then they wouldn't be events. They would just be content. I agree that timed events are lame though.

30 fps is a no buy for me. If they were clear that it ran at or near 60 on Switch 2 I would still be in. So it's a wait and see and not an instant buy.

Lots of things are products first and may be considered art later. Look at the furniture Charles and Ray Eames designed for Herman Miller. It was clearly a product. A well-designed and thought out product but the intent wasn't to make "art" it was to make a very functional yet beautiful piece of furniture. Time and culture decided to elevate those pieces with the status that they were important works of art. Functional art if you will.

This reminds me to be super skeptical of ALL of the upcoming releases from Forever. More than I already was of their work. The new House of the Dead 2 remake is going to be loaded with genAI slop. Mark my words.

This is a hard NO for me. Full price for what seems like a quick port and only a resolution bump? Nah. I'll stick with my 3DS version.

I've been watching this game for a while and now that it is further along in development it is starting to look kinda iffy to me. Everything seems very chaotic and barely functional to me in this preview video. The character designs seem to have also gotten... worse? I was originally fully on board a year ago and now feel like I will wait for it to be cheap or included in a Steam bundle to try it.

@Divide_and_Wander Not quite. It would be familiar in that there are villagers that come and go but the structure is different.

@Serpenterror Concord was removed from all the PS5s it was installed on. There are definitely ways to remotely yank software. Maybe not on the Switch, but I wouldn't be surprised if that ability existed and just hadn't been used.

@Vyacheslav333 I agree with you - but then buying digital games is just long term renting and they can be removed from your library at any time in the future. Like if Microsoft decides it's done licensing them to Nintendo.

Why not just play the originals of things? Most of these "remakes" and "demakes" don't really get past being mildly interesting. Hardly justifies all the effort.

@the_beaver At first, yes. As it goes on, not so much. Grabbed it for less than $10 on steam and played it on my SteamDeck. It's thoroughly "ok."

I loved it on PC. Bought it at launch and didn’t understand the internet hatefest it received. If performance is good on Switch don’t be afraid to grab it. Wonderful game.

The text style in the original is FAR superior to the generic Square style dialogs in the new one.

I've been playing the Apple Arcade version of this for months. It's great. Very much like a Panzer Dragoonish arcade game. Lots and lots of fun. The music is made to sound like Queen and adds a quirky epicness to the game.

1,000 fps cap for PC. Lame!

@EndOfLevelBoss i picked up Blade of Darkness on sale and imo… it is not great. Stick with Enclave.

The complete Game of the Year edition (with the same exact content and graphic fidelity and framerate) on Xbox 360 can be easily bought for $10 or less. I highly recommend going that route if you can. For $70-80 you could buy the game AND an Xbox 360. That’s how much of a bad deal this port is. Hard pass.

@Snow_Hawkthorne Same. It's a mess on my Switch. Major crackling and sounds dropping out or not playing at all.

@-wc- It is an OLD game built on OLD mechanics but Starbreeze was doing things with lighting and level design that felt very ahead of it's time back then. After this they did Chronicles of Riddick which took things even further. Enclave is definitely worth checking out as long as the price is $19.99 or lower. If they are going for $29.99, wait for a sale. It's a great game but it's more of a curio at this point.

I love the game but the audio on Switch is broken. Lots of pops, skips, dropped sounds, high pitched sound static. It's really disappointing and I hope that they patch it.

@JJtheTexan I managed Pac-One exactly one time. I've gotten to 2 or 3 many many times though.

I've played Pac-Man 99 almost every single week since it was released. Games have been increasingly filled with bots in the last 12 months though.

If you loved Until Dawn, you will like this too. Lots of spooky. Lots of quick time events.

The reviews were harsh but I REALLY enjoyed my time with BioMutant. The dialog is -not- good but the gameplay loop was satisfying for me.

Final Fantasy Legend on Gameboy was my starting point.
