This sucks for many reasons. I prefer physical games but if digital is going to be cheaper than that's what I will get unless there is a sale price, which Nintendo rarely has.
I still think that a pre-order being sold out is just plain stupid. So what? Let me pre-order for a future SW2 shipment. If people know they have a SW2 coming, less would buy from scalpers, I would hope. I'm not looking forward to stopping at the store every few days to check for a SW2, or constantly checking online stores.
Hoping for free upgrades and that most games run better by default. I know that's not like waving a magic wand, but hoping Nintendo devs planned for this eventuality. IDK about third party. Hoping any games coming out in 2025 will be optimized for SW2 out of the box if they need it: Lunar, Rune Factory Azuma, Trails in the Sky, Pokemon Z-A are high on my list.
I go past one of these machines every time I'm getting groceries. Never thought someone would camp out for a restock. Good grief. That looks like it was inside a Target store, and I bet they are hiring. Maybe the scalper should get a real job. Hopefully the person interviewing him doesn't see this video though.
I don't know how this really all works, but I wonder if big retailers like Walmart and Amazon would have anything to say. They may be too rich to care one way or the other. Maybe they can afford to pay the added costs themselves.
Probably will get rid of the SW1 at some point when it's not needed. But there are many unanswered questions. Will the SW2 play all my SW1 games? Will it work with the retro contollers like NES, SNES, etc?
The Direct can't get here soon enough. Hopefully Nintendo can keep any other details a secret until then, unlike the hardware reveal which was spoiled by some of their partners. Still not sure how that was allowed to happen.
Yikes. Outside of the official news coming in April, I'm most interested in what Nintendo intends to do about all the leaks leading up to the hardware reveal. How many vendor contracts will be voided for those that leaked?
This is just insane in 2025. And I cannot imagine Amazon being the reason behind this as they do pre-orders for tons of stuff. Just a dumb dumb move by the publishers. Change this plan.
Wonder what they plan to do with Trails in the Sky.
The leaks for me ruined the surprise of the reveal. But good grief I cannot see how they would hurt the success of the console. It's just a hardware tease. April here we come.
We can only wonder how the reveal would have been seen differently without all those leaks. The fact some are from Nintendo partners just baffles me. Either way I am super hyped for April. Hope that doesn't get spoiled.
Just wait and see, all we can do. Hopefully most of the games people want will be fine. Maybe those that aren't on the list will be added with emulation. April here we come, come quick.
Super excited to get the physical version of Lunar when they are on preorder. Hope it does well. Now just waiting on release date for Trails in the Sky 1st.
Do these sales numbers account for boutique retailers like limited run? There are more digital / less physical games in general. Take that into account.
A short wait for the Switch 2 details, release date and price. Ports/remasters of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. A Nintendo Store in Chicago, I would travel the 2+ hours for some exclusive merch. Games upgraded for Switch 2.

Re: Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle Will Be A "Limited Time" Offer
Not the best timing for this announcement. Yikes.
Re: Digital Switch 2 Games Being Cheaper Than Physical Is A "Challenge", Says Retailer GAME
This sucks for many reasons. I prefer physical games but if digital is going to be cheaper than that's what I will get unless there is a sale price, which Nintendo rarely has.
Re: Switch 2 Was Very Nearly Called 'Super Nintendo Switch'
Super Switch all the way. But Switch 2 is certainly better than an obscure name that confuses consumers.
Re: Genki Is Hosting Its Own Switch 2 Accessories 'Direct' Later Today
Not sure how they are still allowed to partner with Nintendo after all the early info they released.
Re: Zelda: Breath Of the Wild And Tears Of The Kingdom Will Be Enhanced On Switch 2
I wonder what they will charge for upgrading both games. Will they also release new physical versions?
Re: GameCube Games Confirmed For Nintendo Switch Online On Switch 2
Hopefully the pro controller works well. The GC controller will probably be hard to come by.
Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting
If Nintendo first party digital games start costing $15-$20 less than physical, I may be going digital only for most of them. It's so sad to say this.
Re: Nintendo Expects You To Pay For Its Switch 2 "Welcome Tour" User Guide
Lame. Hopefully they reverse course and give it away free for paying for the hardware. Come on.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Priced At $449.99 For The Base Console

Re: Retailer EB Games' New Retro Service Offers Some Unsurprisingly Rough Trade-In Prices
You're better off going to a mom and pop retro game store to buy and trade in games. These bigger companies don't know anything about retro.

@Jam777 Yeah, maybe downtown Chicago?

Re: Random: Geez, PS5 Game 'Anime Life Sim' Sure Looks Familiar
An anime inspired life sim sounds like it could be interesting but this looks nothing like that. Just a rip off. Anime shouldn't be in the title.
