Hopefully this has cross-play. I’d prefer to have it on Switch 2 but my multiplayer buddies will be on PS5.

I probably buy 50 or so new retail games per year across all my systems, but only maybe 20 at full price/launch.

@Dalamar I really wish Nintendo would implement some form of trophies, even if it's just a digital trinket that you get when you finish a game that you can display in your digital trophy room. I like being reminded of the games I've played.

I've been debating buying a PS5 copy, sounds like I can just crack open my Switch copy instead and enjoy an upgrade on my Switch 2. This really is welcome news.

It would be worth it for the graphics refresh and music. I finished Reload recently and they did a great job updating that game, missing content aside.

I have On Your Tail on Steam Deck already, but if it gets a physical eventually I’ll happily double dip.

@AlleyCat They’re counting on some people buying the digital version and then doubling up on the physical version when it’s announced. I’ve fallen for that enough times that I wait on buying digital releases now unless it’s something I have to absolutely play immediately.

@burninmylight I have the remake on PS4, it’s fine but I think it’s lacking some of the charm of the original.

I'm still hoping that the success of Aegis Rim and Unicorn Overlord eventually leads to ports of the other older games to Switch or Switch 2. I need to own Muramasa on every system, please and thanks.

@BishopShiozawa Oh for sure! I'm still a diehard Vita fan, I carry it with me more often than either my Switch or Steam Deck. I just finished up Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and I'm slowly making my way through Trails in the Sky SC.

@arkanjo29 I actually haven't played it (other than the demo years ago), which is what I meant from the backlog comment.

And yes I have a general idea of what the game is like as far as content, but I'd like to know that the Switch version runs decently or I may opt for PS5 instead. As we've learned from the recent Lollipop Chainsaw port, we can't assume a game is going to run decently on the Switch just because it's being brought over from an older system.

@Ks123 I ended up going with the Switch version! Though, true to form, I haven't played it yet. I watched a few video reviews for the game and the Switch performance issues seemed pretty negligible for me, so the portability factor won out.

The original disappeared into my backlog years ago, never to be seen again. The same fate probably awaits the remaster but I'll still pick it up if the reviews are good. Gotta support those Vita exlusives that helped the system last as long as it did!

I’m still torn on whether to get this on PS5 or Switch. I guess there’s no way of knowing how much the performance dips suck without trying it myself.

I bought it digitally on PS5 but I’ll probably pick up the physical on Switch next year if those technical kinks are ironed out by then. It’s truly a fun game, even if you don’t necessarily think you’d be into it.

For folks who care about physical releases, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Selfloss also has a retail release.

I already grabbed Marvel vs. Capcom first thing this morning on Playstation, with a Switch physical to follow when those come out. I preordered Plucky Squire and Lollipop Chainsaw physically as well. So no Switch downloads this week, even though it's an epic one.

@KingBurger That would have been a homerun, I really hope we get that game on modern consoles somehow (with online and local multiplayer).

@Tyranexx I know what you mean. SRPGs are one of my favorite genres, but the only one I've played through on Switch is Three Houses. Which means I still have to get around to Tactics Ogre, Triangle Strategy, Disgaea 7, Banner Saga, Wargroove 1 & 2, Dark Deity, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Othercide, 3 Mercenaries Saga games, Brigandine, Langrisser 1 & 2, La Pucelle, Redemption Reapers, Diofield Chroncicles, the Front Mission remakes, and making a proper run at Engage.

I'll be playing Switch games for the next decade and I'm really happy about it

Three Houses for sure, but to be fair I have not given Engage a proper shot yet. I've started it three times, played for the first 4 or 5 hours, and then quit to play something else.

A toilet, eh? Certain unfortuante corners of the internet will be intrigued.

Please please please let the long-rumored FF Tactics remaster be a thing. That would pretty much solidify the Switch as my favorite library of all time.

Other than that I’d love to get one more Fire Emblem game and one or both of the Zelda remasters, and Mario Galaxy 2. Anything else would be the icing on the cake.

The first three games I ever backed on Kickstarter were this, Shovel Knight and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. I feel super lucky that they all turned out to be really good. I'd back the sequel in a heartbeat!

There’s definitely some occasional hiccups in the frame rate but the game certainly looks fine. I’ve already got it preordered on Switch but I’m only on Tales in the Sky SC so by the time I make it to this game I’ll have picked up the Steam version for dirt cheap or the Switch 2 will be out and hopefully it can run these games a bit better.

@antisumo Looks like they just repurposed the Steam banner, it's the same.

Pepper Grinder looks like a ton of fun, but it 100% looks like the kind of game that will eventually get a physical release so I'm going to hold off.

Such a shame that Tactics isn’t on the Switch in any form.
