@Bunkerneath It's showing pre-orders begin on August 20 for me. Maybe different regions have different dates? I'm in the US.

Update: There's a banner across the top of the Strictly Limited page that says The Tiny Thor Pre-Orders in a little over two days, but if you click through it takes you to the Parasol Stars pre-order page. I think that's where the confusion is coming from.

@Friendly There are morally grey ways to play Trails in the Sky 3 on Vita, of course, but I may just break down and buy a Steam Deck by the time I finish the 2nd game. I’m near the end of the first now, so I still have some time to think about it/hope for the trilogy on Switch!

Not totally on topic , but I'm playing through Trails in the Sky right now on my Vita, it's a shame that trilogy and Cold Steel 1 & 2 are nowhere to be seen on the Switch. I'd much rather play them all on my OLED, rather than switching from Vita to Switch for Crossbell, then back to Vita for Cold Steel 1 & 2, then back to Switch for 3,4, and Reverie.

I buy 2K once every 3 years or so and the last one I got was 2K21, so this is actually perfect. I won't pre-order but I'll definitely pick it up when the season gets going again this fall. Probably on PS5 or Xbox, I can't justify what's sure to be a hefty download on my Switch even though it would be convenient to play through a game or two on my lunch sometimes.

@Bizzyb I'd buy every song in the game if they'd do a comprehensive Chrono Trigger pack. What a soundtrack!

@Bizzyb "Battle with Magus" is in the first Chrono Trigger DLC pack.

I’m sitting at the beach with the wife the next three days with plans to play lots of Tears of the Kingdom with maybe a little Pixel Remaster mixed in. Perfect reminder of why portable systems have always been my favorites.

I really want a physical copy of Dead Cells, but chances are really high that more DLC will be released and another, more updated physical edition will be released down the road. I’m definitely not complaining about more future content but I’d really like a copy with all the major dlc on the actual cartridge.

Glad I opted to get a PS5 key. If I fall in love with the game and future patches smooth it out a bit, I may grab a physical Switch copy.

@mjhopkins81 I remember the commercials for the launch of FFVII, the graphics were legit mind-blowing back then. I had already played and loved VI & IV by that point, but VII was attention grabbing for new RPG fans in a way that those older games just weren’t.

@ChaoticIgnorance Now that you mention it, there’s a chance i played Final Fantasy Adventure first. My first system was a Gameboy and I had it for at least a couple of years before I got my SNES.

My mom bought me Final Fantasy VI from a pawn shop back in the 90s as a reward for my grades. Changed my life. Thanks Mom!

Either the description for Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is incorrect or I was very mistaken in what I thought the game was about.

@foodmetaphors I get it, I'm not much of a mobile gamer but even if I was I wouldn't touch that botched port of VI.

Getting a physical copy of the Pixel Remasters, I really shouldn't be this excited by games that I've played and beaten so many times over the decades. They're just so good!

Also, I'm mildly surprised that Belle Boomerang looks kinda decent for a game with such a terrible title.

@Anti-Matter I remember how badly I wanted a similar DS or 3DS remake of VI for years. Such a missed opportunity.

@daveMcFlave I'm right there with you, I'll probably get IV and VI on my PS5 just for the achievements, but I'm getting a physical copy on Switch. I feel like I've played those two games so many times that getting the trophies would be the crowning achievement.

Vernal Edge looks interesting, and Ib too. I'll wait on reviews for those. I already have physical copies ordered of Mato Anomalies, Trails to Azure, and Fatal Frame, so the only other thing I'm looking to possibly pick up (pending reviews) is Record of Agarest War.

@iDidSomething Trails in the Sky 1 & 2 are available on Vita. Not sure if that’s an option for you but I’m playing the first game now and really enjoying it. By the time I get to the third game I’ll either buy a Steam Deck to play it or maybe (fingers-crossed) we’ll have an announcement that the trilogy is being ported to modern consoles.

I’m like you, I just can’t bring myself to play games like this on a PC or laptop.

Anyone have an opinion on Vanaris Tactics? I think it’s been out on PC for a bit.

Any difficulty options to choose from, or are you stuck with the default?

Grabbing Persona 3 and that's it, most of my time will be focused on Fire Emblem for the next couple of months. I'll grab P4 later, I'm not as pressed to replay that one right now.

I really wish I knew more about what was eventually coming with the expansion pass, but I was generally pleased with the one for 3 Houses so I'll probably bite.

Loved playing this on my Vita and I'm looking forward to playing through again as the female protagonist. Shoutout to Mitsuru - Persona's best girl.

I played P3P, P4G, and P5R in release order and I definitely think that’s the optimum way to get to really appreciate them. Not sure if I’m going to replay 4 anytime soon but I’m very tempted to play through the female protagonist’s route in P3P for the first time.

I really hope some of the Vanillaware games make their way to switch, maybe in a physical collection?

I recently (and randomly) started doing it for the first time in Sword. Only for Pokemon I actually intend to train, though.

Prior to that, I hated Pokemon with non-generic names. Now that I have so many of each Pokemon, I like being able to tell easily which are my adventure buddies.

@Allspice Rogue Legacy is absolutely my most played Vita game after Persona 3 and 4, I'm really excited about grabbing the sequel. I wonder what the chances are for a physical release?

@AtlanteanMan You hit pretty much every game I lusted after in EGM and Gamepro as a kid without a Saturn. I'd buy a mini-Saturn in a heartbeat.

I'm 10 hours into Trails in the Sky FC, this series is going to last me the rest of my life.

I've picked up some songs from the Guitar Hero games over the years (I still listen to "Even Rats" by The Slip pretty often), and the 2K games have pretty solid soundtracks. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are memorable examples just like the author said. And the Midnight Club games had some pretty great licensed soundtracks if you like hip-hop.

Getting Nier physically, of course, and I'm undecided on pulling the trigger on No Man's Sky on Switch or PS5. Bloodwash sounds interesting, though.

I think I have this game on almost every system I've owned since it released - PS3, 3DS, Vita, PS4, Switch, and PS5. I haven't played it in several years though, so it'll be almost a fresh experience when I play it with all these updates it's received. No many games have this kind of longevity, and I think its worth being included on any top 100 games of all time list.
