Literally in the middle of playing the Remastered version on my phone now. Knew I shoulda waited

Played the 3D All-Stars version of Galaxy 1 earlier this year, followed soon after by the OG Galaxy 2. I shouldn’t have been surprised by the backwards graphical downgrade, but I was. Still an incredibly fun game, but really made me wish I had SMG2 on the Switch, for the extra polish and being able to play on the go. Wish granted.

While I’m in no rush to replay Galaxy 2 again right now, I’m happy to add it to the backlog for a rainy day.

Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS also did the same planet-hopping series of levels as Prime 3. In both cases each world feels more like a tunnel to run down, blast a boss/grab a key, then leg it back to Samus’ ship. 3 did a better job of making the areas worth exploring, and gave some cool set pieces along the way, but didn’t feel like a “proper” interconnected Metroid maze world, which loops around itself.

This ain’t new, and I ain’t loving it.

@Pillowpants that was my experience with the original too. I think the multiplayer has a lot of replayability, but playing solo it quickly got repetitive, and the hundreds of achievements didn’t hook me.

Seems mad to think they moved development to the Switch 2 in 2021, so they’ve been working on this for 4 years. Makes me doubt we’re gonna get a 3D Mario any time soon if that’s the Odyssey team’s turnaround time…

Awesome expansion, but why stop there? Let me know if they add PC/Amiga Worms 1+Reinforcements, Worms 2 and non-GBA World Party, make it a Full Can O’Worms Collection.

Anyone know, does this version allow custom sounds etc? I used to love changing the voices on the old PC titles.

@jolteon23 it was pretty easy until the last quarter, when it jumps a fair bit, but grinding for EXP is still possible.

Compared with Fire Emblem, I don’t miss the permadeath, but I do think the battle pace is a little slower.

@jolteon23 I’ve been enjoying it, though I’m up to the final 2 battles (I think) and starting to think maybe I’ve not levelled up enough of my squad
