Re: Preview: In Ys X: Nordics, Adol And Boats Prove To Be A Match Made In Heaven

@Lightsiyd I mean, you don't really need to grind for those things to beat the bosses. I did grind them in my playthrough and ended up being overleveled in the hard difficulty.

"In any case, bosses and even mini-bosses are interspersed between lengthy areas of exploration, which is most definitely not my cup of tea."

I don't thing you will like any of the party members era ys games(Ys seven, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox), these games are way more lengthy and they introduced materials.Ys Monstrum Nox is basically Lacrimosa of Dana 2: Electric Boogaloo.

You should try the Napishtim engine era games instead, they have a more frantic pacing and you only play as the MC. From that era, Ys Origin is currently available on Switch and Ys The Oath in Felghana is getting a switch port early next year.

Re: Braid: Anniversary Edition Sales Have Been "Utterly Terrible", Says Creator

Honestly, I think the indie gaming landscape has just changed. People is no longer that interested in early indie games, the indie platformers market is oversaturated and the competition is really tough.

I think games such as Limbo and Cave Story would never perform as well as they did if they were released this year. And most of the early indie studios weren't able to reach mainstream success in the current market.

Re: Leaker 'Pyoro' Locks Account After Claiming Their Source Works For Nintendo

@PtM Leaks doesn't necessarily comes from the development studio, especially the ones that doesn't leak material, so it's hard for companies to even know where to take any sort of action. I think those are just the most extreme scenarios.(Also, I don't think Leakers have all the blame for Nintendo cancelling those projects, it was just Nintendo way of doing things)

Re: Leaker 'Pyoro' Locks Account After Claiming Their Source Works For Nintendo

I don't get why people is so overdramatic when it comes to leakers that only leaks the existence of something. I don't think that really hurt the multimillion dollar company, it even makes more exciting the announcements. I think being mad at that is just silly.

That aside, I also don't get why these leakers are turning themselves into some sort of internet celebrities with dramas and that kind of stuff. This is the second drama related to a leaker in this month, this is getting silly.

For anyone still interested, Kotaku confirmed indie games actually don't have to pay for the slot.

"After the publication of this story a handful of indie publishers and developers contacted Kotaku and explained that some “free slots” are provided to smaller, non-AAA games and studios. It appears that Keighley is sometimes pitched games to include and he provides some free airtime for these projects as part of the “earned editorial placements” previously mentioned."

Damn, I didn't know the studios that made Lies of P, Party Animals and Palworld had that much money, those games had a 1-minute-long trailer in last year Summer Game Fest.

But I'm way more suprised at lesser-known tittles such Lysfanga The Time Shift Warrior, Fae Farm World and Yes, Your Grace, that price doesn't sound that unattainable when you see smaller studios like those getting a spot.(Thou considering I had never heard of them until looking for titles featured in last year showcase, maybe those weren't good investments)

@larryisaman It's hard not to think there was a serious mismanagement when Team Cherry made Hollow Knight with only a 2% of the budget of Yooka Layle.

I've always seen The Impossible Lair more as the studio finally being able to adjust the scope of their project to something more appropiate for an indie game. The Impossible Lair was a smaller yet very polished title.

Re: 'Tales Of Kenzara: Zau' Director Addresses "Constant Targeted Harassment"

@Tupin " I only ask you to look at the YouTube comments, the steam forums, some of my QTs and even in the comments of the video itself. This, paired with the emails, messages and beyond make this assertion that harassment isn’t happening, or the requirement that we need to prove it, extremely hard to take on board."
He's actually also counting the hate toward the game itself as harassment, and didn't really mentioned harassment toward the other staff members. He's more talking about people saying "No harassment at all" while my comment is about 'how big these harassment campaigns actually are.

You can call it "being too cynical", but if someone with opposite beliefs said something similar without offering proof, one wouldn't have the same supportive reaction.

Re: 'Tales Of Kenzara: Zau' Director Addresses "Constant Targeted Harassment"

fenlix

Honestly it has always been kinda hard to tell how big are these "harassment campaigns", maybe they are just being blew out of proportion to boost their image and promote their game. Like, I get it, at least a couple of people most likely went to send him private messages, but did a considerable amount of people do it? Or is he also counting internet conversations mocking him as harassment? He also Included the studio workers, I don't think there was that many people wanted to harass them considering the creator was the one that was on the center of every headline, but who knows.

I'm just saying, people in internet is quick to accept anything as a fact to validate their beliefs.
