@WhiteUmbrella I've sunk thousands of hours in Free to play games without spending money on them, in some of them you can even pay the battle pass once and then pay the next one with the rewards of the season.
Free to play games are healthier experiences than a lot of full-priced games.
I think even Sonic fans are going to eventually hate this one, this sounds like a less polished Sonic colors, which a big chunk of the community started to hate eventually.
Anyways, the writing was on the wall when the studio making this game was revealed.
@Axecon The AAA model of bigger and more expensive games is what is causing stagnation of creativity, not companies buying other companies. Also, Microsoft netflix-like model can actually bring a little bit more creativity to the industry.
@Woderwick 10 years is more than enough for the other companies to prepare a response to the things that Microsoft own, their competition also accepted Microsoft offer because they are also being benefited in the long run.
Also, Microsoft never said the Bethesda games would remain multiplatform, they always used the word "case-by-case".
@gaga64 Ubisoft having the CoD cloud gaming rights in the UK means that everybody wanting to have CoD in their cloud gaming services in the UK have to ask Ubisoft for it instead of Microsoft.
Well, so far two hispanic pages that I follow gave the game low scores, while other 2 pages gave it 8 and 8.5. Overall, seem like Sonic Superstars doesn't feel like a classic Sonic game, it's a slower experience, so that may be divisive.
@DanijoEX-the-Pierrot The thing is, Kamiya was currently directing a new IP, which was also supposed to be the first self-published platinum games project and was also presented as "the climax of Kamiya's Super hero trilogy".
It's really fishy that Kamiya left Platinum games under those circumstances, so something must have happened in Platinum games to have him leaving the studio.
What a weird change, the original one seemed to fit the tone of the game better based on the trailers, the new one seem to try to make her look like illumination Peach.
Is famitsu still relevant in 2023? I remember their scores were a big deal back in 2010. I ended up buying 428: Shibuya Scramble years later because they gave it 10/10.
@calbeau Seemingly Nintendo policies forces devs to use the newest version of Unity available at the year of the release, unity new policies will now only apply to newest versions of the engine, so as along as they keep the project in the version that they have been using, they won't be affected by the changes.
I guess someone must be announcing the adquisition of platinum games in 2-3 weeks. Microsoft just bought Activision, so maybe Tencent is the one that will buy the studio.
Or maybe Platinum games is just really that interested in Games as a Service.
@Paraka But Obsidian has been doing really well under Xbox umbrella, they are better than even actualy, and Arkane has just been working as usual.
Also, before buying Bethesda, they mosty were seeking for smaller studios(Obsidian, Double Fine, Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games) and they gladly sold the companies to Microsoft, it was not a matter of greedy CEOs.
@Paraka 'Microsoft has a track record of not really utilizing their purchases"
And as usual, that "track record" boils down to just Rare -_- So far, Microsoft has actually been using well their purchases. As for modern Rare, Microsoft certainly forced them to make Kinect games for a while, but now they just choose not to use their old franchise and focus on new and original ips, after all, the majority of old members left the studio years ago, even when Xbox bought the studio, key people was already gone by that time.
A lot of prestigious studios are willing to sell themselves to Microsoft because all in all, they are currently a pretty good option.
@smithyo The actual problem seem to be that Embrace group actually has no that much money yet they do have too little sense. They are getting rid of studios because Saudi group wasn't willing to give her money.
I can't believe Nintendo added a lot of online features, yet they didn't add normal online co-op, like, wtf nintendo!?.
So far, I don't know what to think about the game, the new power ups and features seem to make the game even easier. Also, kinda disappointing you can only have one badget at the time, I think Yooka-layle let you have more than one.
I'm really unimpressed by the game, I think Indie games and Donkey kong country tropical freeze set up a new standar for the genre, let's hope Mario is able to catch up with them.
Most likely that leaked new Jet set radio game that hasn't been announced. But I hope they announce ports of IV, Strange Journey and V, C'mon! This is SMT anniversary and they have only announced persona games.
@Mana_Knight Well, Mario wonder is most likely going to be a better game and a safer bet, and you'll most likely find Sonic Superstars for a cheaper price in a sale a month later.
@JayJ I played them with a friend, and they basically were "Do your chores in one corner while I do mines in the other corner, and ocasionally we'll switch chores". Maybe with 3-4 players the game would be more fun, or if I could add a CPU.

Why did this one only get a mini-review?

Re: Japanese Charts: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Absolutely Smashes Its Debut
Damn, that's an awful debut for Sonic Superstars. It truly was a awful idea to release the game so close to Mario. The difference is pornographic!
Re: Review: Sonic Superstars - A Fine, Authentic-Feeling Return That Runs Great On Switch
@Bratwurst35 I also took the story into consideration, I think those games are a good 3D Sonic experience overall.
Also, Sonic Colors is not really that 3D.
Re: Review: Sonic Superstars - A Fine, Authentic-Feeling Return That Runs Great On Switch
Well, It looks like Mario won again, to no one surprise...
But shout-out to Arzest, this is their first game that is actually fine.
Re: Review: Sonic Superstars - A Fine, Authentic-Feeling Return That Runs Great On Switch
@msvt Sonic Mania for 2D, Sonic adventure 2 or Unleashed for 3D
Re: Random: One "New" Wii U Was Apparently Sold In The US Last Month

Cool, Bobby Kotick is also confirmed to leave the company by the end of this year.
A victory for gaming overall.

Re: Telltale Games Confirms Layoffs, With 'Most Of' The Studio Reportedly Gone
It would be kinda funny to see Telltale dying again, I could use the joke:
"If I had a nickel for every time Telltale went bankrupt, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Right?"

Re: Wipeout-Style Racer 'BallisticNG' Cancelled For Switch Following Unity's Policy Changes
“Nintendo has a rolling Unity version requirement for game releases and we’re already behind the threshold by two years,”
Honestly, f@ck Nintendo! Pretty bold of them to ask for newest version of Unity when their consoles are far from being state-of-the-art.

Re: Princess Peach: Showtime! Opens On Switch In March 2024
Awwww...this looks kinda too "for girls" to my taste, thou I'm dumb for expecting Peach hacking and slashing hordes of enemies or something.
It looks slower than a kirby/yoshi game thou.
Re: Another Code: Recollection Remakes Two Cult Classics On Switch in January 2024

it's nice to see Nintendo looting those corpses, Chibi-robo next, please.

Re: Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery Brings All Cases And A New Scooter Minigame To Switch
I played the first and second game, and I don't understand why some people seem to like these games so much.
I mean, they are okey, each game is around 1-hour-long(thou I found them kinda boring at times)
They are not games that left any sort of strong impression on me, even the humor in the games could be more described as mildly amusing.
