Re: Review: Shadows Of The Damned: Hella Remastered (Switch) - Cult Shooter Returns As Fun-But-Flawed As Ever

fenlix

Honestly, I didn't get why people was so hyped about this game. Wasn't this the title where most of Suda's ideas were scrapped by EA executives?(And I personally didn't like the sex jokes)

This was probably one of the most disapponting titles in gaming history considering it was made by a dream team of Suda51 and Shinji Mikami. And honestly, I fear history is going to repeat itself with HOTEL BARCELONA, a game made by a dream team of Suda51 and SWERY, which certainly doesn't look like most people was expecting...

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Yakuza Kiwami (Switch)

fenlix

Kiwami is just an ok game, it's the typical "wait for a sale" game, so it's the only case in the franchise that paying 20 dollars for feels like an appropriate pricing.(It reuses so much from YK0 that it feels like a DLC)

But anyways, Yakuza 0 is a better starting point both plot-wise and gameplay-wise. For me, Yakuza Kiwami was a 7.5/10, but without having played YK0 first it would have been just a 7/10.

Re: Review: Yakuza Kiwami (Switch) - A Decent Port Of An Ambitious, Frustrating Game

fenlix

"Frustrating difficulty spikes"

This is one of the reasons why Yakuza Kiwami 1 is not a good starting point, it uses Yakuza 0 combat but without its learning curve, Yakuza Kiwami pretty much just gives you all the combat styles from the get-go and expect you to know how to use them.

Early game is quite hard even for people that played 0 first, the game really likes to have you fighting multiple enemies in small spaces, sometimes all of them uses unblockable weapons.(I'm talking about that awful fight at Serena)

Also, Majima Everywhere fights are more enjoyable when you played YK 0 first because he uses his moveset from that game, so that you can inmediately strategize based on your YK 0 knowledge instead of getting destroyed.

That aside, Yakuza Kiwami also has the weakest storytelling and pacing in the franchise, while Yakuza 0 offers one of the most engaging stories in gaming, and it also does a better job at setting and potraying Yakuza Kiwami characters than Yakuza Kiwami.

Thou the score may be a little bit low, this is a great review overall. Kudos to the reviewer! And overall, I recommend to wait for Yakuza 0 to be ported.

Re: Review: Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge Of The Seven (Switch) - A Remake That's Equally Intriguing & Underwhelming

fenlix

Honestly I didn't get why so many people was hyped for this game, that's, SaGa games are supposed to be ones of the most niche and divisive titles in the market. I was surprised at this one getting mainstream attention out of the blue, especially when the remaster of Romancing SaGa 2(which was already available on modern platforms) is considered niche af.

Re: The Math Adds Up, The Nintendo Switch Really Does Have The Best Games

fenlix

"the Switch is comfortably beat by the PC, Mac, iPhone, and Android"
I think you include PC by mistake, PC has way more games than the switch according that table.

Switch- 39 games VS PS4 - 33 games

This is kinda an unfair comparison, PS4 is still getting games, but critics are only reviewing the PS5 versions now. So it probably has more games that are worthy of the +90.(Thou I said kinda unfair because the ps4 has been out for 11 years)

PS5 - 25 games

This is kinda impressive actually, they have that amount of prestigious games in only 4 years, while the switch has been out for almost 8 years. The PS5 could end up beating the switch by the end of its lifecycle.

Re: Palworld's Japan Release On PS5 Delayed As Nintendo's Lawsuit Looms

fenlix

@Serpenterror Nintendo apologists are pretty lame and misinformed, Craftopia cannot be considered as a rip-off of zelda botw because that game has every videogame mechanic and concept in existence to the point that it barely play like Zelda. It's more like a sh@tposting game.

A similar case applies to Never Grave, as a matter of fact, that one looks even more original than Crowsworn which had the blessing from the hollow knight team.

Re: Palworld Developer Responds To Nintendo Lawsuit

fenlix

I just love that no matter if Nintendo ends up being legally right, it's still morally correct to hate them because patenting mechanics is scummy af.

It's also hard to keep track of which very specific mechanics are patented, specially for an indie company.
