@Samalik I kinda agree, but it is very difficult to make a difficulty selection for puzzles, as it basically requires the designer to build the entire puzzles from scratch to make them harder. In a game like Echoes of Wisdom, where traversal seems to be a significant aspect of puzzle solving, this would imply changing significant sections of the game world. With combat it's much easier, you just make enemies stronger/faster and it is immediately harder.
@Joeynator3000 The Mountain in ALTTP was in fact NOT the Death Mountains! In the japanese version it was called the Hebra Mountain (which also made a return in BOTW!). Only in the western release it was called Death Mountain, probably to provide better continuity to Zelda 1, where the Mountain was called Death Mountain as well.
So as for Echoes of Wisdom, the mountain with the volcano is probably the Death Mountain, whereas the other one is the Hebra Mountains, as it originally was in ALTTP.
I am glad this is actually coming to Switch, but so far it doesn't look too interesting. It just looks like traditional Metroid Prime, without any real innovations
Looks very interesting, just worried that it will be too easy. Being able to copy and paste anything at any time seems like an invite to breaking the game. But let's wait and see.
@N00BiSH BOTW is almost nothing like Zelda I. Zelda 1 has long maze-like dungeons with challenging combat encounters, whereas BOTW dungeons are mostly short puzzle-rooms, and the combat is way too easy due to the abundant healing items (Zelda 1 allows at most one (!) healing potion )
The Demo on the Eshop was already a lot of fun! I think they did a great job with modernizing this game; if I didn't knew it I would not expect this to be a remake of a PS1 game.
I have just played the first 3 levels on NSO and I actually think it is pretty fun. So far I have not encountered any of the supposedly unfair situations described in the review. Maybe not as good compared to other Castlevania games, but for what it is, it's a solid experience so far.
I am really disappointed by the low difficulty. Mario Odyssey was already way too easy, sad to hear they did it again. Why can't we have multiple difficulties like in Super Mario Land?? I guess I will stick with Mario Maker 2.
One of the greatest RPGs ever made. This was very popular in Germany when it released and is a major influence on the Witcher series. I wonder why this game is so little known outside of Germany.
I already have this on Gamecube, no interest in getting this again. But great for the people who didn't play it back in the day, it is absolutely worth it!
Best game of the direct, looks really promising. I love how versatile the gameplay looks with the different transformations, the artstyle is also very nice.
@Clyde_Radcliffe I hope avoiding the batches is not the only way to make the game challenging. The batches look like a lot of fun to use and playing without them would make the game probably much less interesting.
@Gamer83 I think the Characters play the same because this time we have the Badges with different abilities, which take the role of different characters in SMB2.
@UltimateOtaku91 Thanks for the advice, sounds interesting to make the game more challenging for yourself.
But may main issue is probably how slow everything is. There is so much time waiting, waiting until Pikmin bring ressources to the ship and then returning there to let them join me again, or waiting until the Pikmin destroy an obstacle. It just seems kinda tedious. Does this get better later on?
I don't understand the Cons. Which "Zelda staples" are lacking? This is pretty much a by-the-books Zelda game with all the classical Enemies and Items. And there IS a decent amount of puzzles (probably more than in Links Awakening) just not as much as in Oracle of Ages.
I have never played a Pikmin game before. I thought that Pikmin 4 may be a good place to start, but after reading that it is apparently a very easy game I will probably pass. I prefer a challenge.
@Cia Yes, BOTW is difficult at the very beginning, when you haven't collected enough healing items yet. But after a few hours you have so many of them that you are almost invincible for the rest of the game. I rarely even cooked because the raw food already provided soo crazy much healing.
I honestly have a difficult relationship with Ganondorf since I first met him in OOT. Before that, I always envisioned him as this beastly animal, so I found it weird when he suddenly became a normal human.
As for the design, I like Twilight Princess Ganondorf best. The Black Skin along with the dark Armor and the grim expression make him look really menacing.
I am sorry, but this song does not fit the style of Mario music. In my opinion they should have added elements from Bowser's Theme (e.g. from Mario 64) so that the music makes more sense in a Mario movie.
@Diowine I doubt that the map is really the same as BOTW. I am sure that they have some surprises for us. For example there could be a hidden portal in Hyrule that leads you to a completely new world that is just as big as Hyrule.
To be honest, so far it does not look that exciting. Just seems like BOTW with a few extra abilities. But I hope they still have some surprises to show, for example how are the dungeons in this game??
I honestly don't know if I should be hyped. They have shown way too little gameplay so far to get a good idea of the game. But if it plays similar to BOTW then I am not particularly hyped.
@glaemay Maybe it's just me, but I don't care much about graphics at this point. The original gamecube version already looked good enough to me. I buy games for the gameplay, not for the graphics.

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Gets Four New Additions Today, Including Zelda, Metroid, And Perfect Dark
Too bad they did not announce any games for NSO without expansion.

Wow! This is sooo good, for a moment I was actually wondering if it's April Fools today, haha
Re: Review: Arzette: The Jewel Of Faramore (Switch) - An Adroit Homage To The Worst Zelda Games
Next they should make a spiritual successor to Mario is Missing and Hotel Mario.

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. Wonder - The Best 2D Mario Since The Super NES
@Fangleman32 I thought they already added Yoshi and Nabbit as an easy mode, so why didn't they make the regular characters actually challenging?

For comparison, Sonic Forces got 35/40. In that light it doesn't seem very promising...

Kirby's Dreamland actually has a Hard Mode, which is pretty challenging.

Re: Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Brings Some Platform Puzzling To Switch Next February
I hoped for a new DK game, the focus on remakes is getting tiring these days.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Super Mario Bros. Wonder
I am disappointed to hear that this game is more forgiving than other 2D Marios. Most Mario games are already too easy, to be honest.

Pikmin 4 seems very popular, but based on the Demo I am not sure if I should get it. The demo seems really slow and easy and just kinda boring.

Re: Arzette Is A "Spiritual Successor" To The Infamous Zelda CD-i Games And It's Coming To Switch In 2023
The music is actually really good
Re: The Hardest Games On Nintendo Switch
@Cia Yes, BOTW is difficult at the very beginning, when you haven't collected enough healing items yet. But after a few hours you have so many of them that you are almost invincible for the rest of the game. I rarely even cooked because the raw food already provided soo crazy much healing.
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
I still have to beat BOTW before I buy TOTK. I still need to finish 20 shrines, find all memories, and defeat Ganon.
Re: Feature: Which Zelda Game Has The Best Ganondorf? Every Design Ranked By You
Ganondorf in TOTK looks to cartoonish to be menacing, at least based on what we have seen so far.
Re: Poll: Breath Of The Wild Vs. Tears Of The Kingdom - Which Final Zelda Trailer Was Better?
The TOTK trailer is way better. It shows more gameplay elements (the BOTW seems to be more about cutscenes) and has much better music.
The Music in the BOTW trailer is rather bland and does not fit the style of the Zelda franchise.
Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Ganondorf?
I don't like Ganondorf in TotK, he looks too cartoonish to be scary.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Link's Start Point In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
Didn't read the article, I don't want to get spoilerd anymore on this game. The last trailer showed more than enough IMO
Re: Poll: Which Is The Best Ganondorf?
I honestly have a difficult relationship with Ganondorf since I first met him in OOT. Before that, I always envisioned him as this beastly animal, so I found it weird when he suddenly became a normal human.
As for the design, I like Twilight Princess Ganondorf best. The Black Skin along with the dark Armor and the grim expression make him look really menacing.
Re: Poll: What Did You Make Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Final Trailer?
The trailer was more exciting than the first ones, but to be honest, it still just looks like more of BOTW
Re: Mario Movie's Jack Black Song 'Peaches' Now Eligible For Oscar Nomination
I am sorry, but this song does not fit the style of Mario music. In my opinion they should have added elements from Bowser's Theme (e.g. from Mario 64) so that the music makes more sense in a Mario movie.
Re: Video: Super Mario Bros. Movie 'Princess Peach Training Course' Clip Released
@bonjong23 I guess this movie is like Super Mario Bros. 2 where all four characters can beat the game.
Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Trailer Gets Creative With Vehicle Building, Fused Weapons
@chardir Don't watch it, there is not much of interest (yet).

Re: Random: It's Okay Everyone, Kirby Doesn't Digest His Enemies
@Chaotic_Neutral Kirby is just copying the foods nutritients when swallowing them, and then teleports the intact original food away.
Re: Random: It's Okay Everyone, Kirby Doesn't Digest His Enemies
@ATHFjman18 Kirby just copies their ability and then teleports the entire intact enemy. It is like copying a file on the PC, nobody gets hurt.
Re: Poll: What Are Your Hype Levels for Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
I honestly don't know if I should be hyped. They have shown way too little gameplay so far to get a good idea of the game. But if it plays similar to BOTW then I am not particularly hyped.
Re: Eiji Aonuma On Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom: Expect New Gameplay That Will Change The Game World
@Cia Was NES Zelda really the first Open world game? I think the Ultima games and Hydlide are earlier open world RPGs.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 18th)
I want to finish the post-game of Wario Land 3 on NSO. What an amazing game!
Re: Switch's Game Boy Library Doesn't Have A Set Schedule, According To Nintendo
This service builds up waay too slow, I actually thought we would have DS games at this point.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Metroid Prime Remastered?
@glaemay Maybe it's just me, but I don't care much about graphics at this point. The original gamecube version already looked good enough to me. I buy games for the gameplay, not for the graphics.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Metroid Prime Remastered?
TBH I haven't played it yet, but I am disappointed that for 40€ we a mere graphics update for a 20 year old game.
Re: Switch Online's Game Boy Library Is Slightly Different In Japan
How do I change the color palette in gameboy color mode? On the original GBC I could change it while booting up, I don't see any such option in NSO.
