Re: Brexit Could Increase Super Mario Run's Unlock Cost In The UK

banacheck

So when the pound dropped before, as that's what happen's in the foreign exchange, that was also Brexit as other countries had time travel mechanics that in its self created uncertainty. But i guess when the £ rises you can bet your bottom dollar Brexit will not be mentioned then, so blame everything and anything on Brexit but anything good happens don't for get its not because of Brexit.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Switch Plan is Starting to Take Shape

banacheck

It kind of worrying people are defending Nintendo making a mobile app for there online network then charging a monthly fee for it, and I would like to add this kind of stuff is usually free. Some people actually believe Nintendo a have invested money into there online infrastructure just because thay've made a mobile app for there online network, which nonsense it's the same online infrastructure as it was when there online network was free. Otherwise there would have been articles on Nintendo investing in there online infrastructure, much like there was when Sony invested money into there online infrastructure. And Nintendo now charging for there online network does not guarantee thay will not shut servers down much like thay did with the Wii & that, Nintendo has the power to take down any of there servers wether your paying or not. That's the only problem I have other then that I do & don't mind some of the other stuff, stuff like this is not good for the customer hopefully other people will vote with there hard earned cash which could very well happen.

Re: Breaking Down the Nintendo Switch Online Service Details

banacheck

Paying for a bloody app there online infrastructure is the same as last generation and probably the same as the Wii's , and 20 year old game's for "One Month" we wouldn't think we are in 2017. It's a cheap and nasty way to pump more money out of your customers, sod investing in our online infrastructure just make a app. Its going to be interesting to see how much Nintendo are going to charge, it just better not be £39.99 a year.

Re: Feature: Everything You Need to Know About the Nintendo Switch, So Far

banacheck

I cannot see Dark Souls 3 on the Switch, in fact i cannot see any Dark Souls game on the Switch as the Switch is a Nintendo console the market is different. And who would be porting them as From Software is busy working on 3 new unannounced titles, so its safe to say From Software wouldn't be porting them. This time i'll be waiting a bit before getting a Switch this time around, until it has a few games i want.

Re: More Nintendo Switch Rumours Emerge Online

banacheck

I thought it was common knowledge that Mass Effect Andromeda wasn't coming to the Switch, as Bioware's Michael Gamble stated there are no plans. And then when you take into account Bethesda's Prey and what Pete Hines said, i think its save to say game's like these RDR2, Prey, Andromeda etc will not be on the Switch for obvious reasons.

Re: Yooka-Laylee Rattles Away From Wii U Release

banacheck

Developers really need to start thinking about there game & platform thay want to 100% release on before entering Kickstarters, as this isn't really fair to Wii U owners. Yes you can switch platforms etc but what about the people who don't own another platform? and maybe thay or there mums & dads cannot afford the Switch on release day, not like it'll make any difference seeing as Yooka Laylee will be sometime off before it actual releases on the Switch.

Re: Say Hello to the Nintendo Switch, a New Concept for Gaming

banacheck

After the Wii U launch i'll definitely be waiting this time around, especially to see how well it sells which effects 3rd party surpport. By the games in that trailer mostly remasters its obviously will not have BC with the Wii U, also Skyrim while an excellent game its still a last gen game. I think 3rd parties not showing any ports of the latest games are obviously testing the waters, and the power is just not there meaning Nintendo are not competing with both Sony & Microsoft in terms of power aka graphics. Which comes as no surprise as the Switch will not be sold at a loss, a competitive price point and manufacturing costs would have been key for Nintendo. I'll have to get Zelda on the Wii U for now which still looks stunning away.

Re: Random: Nintendo NX Rumours From French Media and an Analyst Report, While Zelda Williams Fends Off Anxious Fans

banacheck

I've got a few worries about the NX so I'll definitely be holding off to see how well the NX does, it's price point has got to be right else people will just hold off until it falls in price. If that happens we could see the Wii U launch all over again, 3rd party support dropping Nintendo like a hot cake. Nintendo can call the NX a hybrid all it likes but if it looks and plays like a handheld it'll be classed as a handheld, then this also comes back to price point. With the likes of the other two "consoles" being so cheap around £249.99 with a game, and one coming with UHD Blue-Ray player depending what a NX is it could very well be a hard sell especially depending on its price.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Thinks You Should Give Star Fox Zero Another Try

banacheck

Senior product marketing manager of Nintendo of America Bill Trinen - a man who is rarely far away from Miyamoto at such events - said that Pikmin 3 was his pick as the console's most underrated release

I totally agree Pikmin 3 is an excellent game, but didn't it really sell that poorly? Same as the Wonderful 101 excellent game but for some odd reason didn't sell that well, which is a real shame people missing out on two excellent game's.

Re: Ubisoft Hails Nintendo As "One Of The Best Partners In The World"

banacheck

I don't think people understand Ubisoft is a business, I don't blame Ubisoft one bit for hardly supporting the Wii U. Ubisoft was one of the main Wii U supporters even when they knew the Wii U was selling poorly, they even started making an exclusive game for it (Rayman Legends) but they probably realised it wouldn't cover the development costs being Wii U only hence the reasons for multiplatform. Where was Nintendo? couldn't they helped to keep it a Wii U exclusive? All the blame is on Ubisoft from Nintendo fanboys/fangirls, even though Nintendo could have done a lot more apart from nothing.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U and 3DS Games of 2016 - Summer Edition

banacheck

Slim picking for the Wii U games I am actually interested in, & this is the main reason I'll not be picking up the NX on launch. Which is sad 😢 because I would have like to played Zelda on the NX, but I'll be playing it anyway on the Wii U. Don't get me wrong I have some excellent games for my Wii U but it's a lot less then what's on my PS4, I have games I haven't even started yet on my PS4 with loads more coming over the next few months. Hopefully the NX will get 3rd party support, which will mean it'll have a lot more games besides Nintendo's.

Re: Nikkei Report Suggests That Wii U Production Will End in 2016

banacheck

It's a hard one for me. I will want the NX day one but I am going to hold off to see how things go, if it has a better launch & games doesn't suffer from delays after delays I'll pick one up. I really like my Wii U & my games for it, but the game delays & 3rd party support dropping that did hurt I am not going to lie hopefully the NX will not have the same problems.

Re: Rumour Buster: Let's Clarify Some Issues With Those Recent Nintendo NX Predictions

banacheck

A Handheld which is as powerful as a Xbox One, which can also port game's with near-none modification to the original source code.

Just that one statement is enough to tell you this rumor is bs. There are reasons why consoles like the PS4/Xbox One are the size there are, & not the size of a Handheld or mobile. Also game consoles will always be an order of magnitude more powerful then smartphones/Handhelds.

Re: Editorial: Triple-A Third Party Games Will Need Creativity as Well as Marketing for NX Success

banacheck

@Spin Lol seeing the first reports of Street Fighter 5 sales it wasn't a big deal at all.

Evo 2015 USF4 had 19 million views on Twitch over three days, Street Fighter has a very big fan base. The launch of SFV is just a stumbling block & life time sales of SFV, will probably match or out strip it's SF4 life time sales.

Like someone else has pointed out Nintendo hardest job with the NX especially if it's a console is to sell it at launch & the months/years to come successfully, if it's handheld Nintendo will not have much of a problem. But if it is a console I think Nintendo has got a lot of work to do, the Wii U failed had a lot of droughts & was dropped by 3rd parties. Now they have to convince people the NX will not go the same way, & that's going to be a very hard job to do.

Re: Rumour: EA And Nintendo Looking To Rekindle "Unprecedented Partnership" On NX

banacheck

bitleman
The EA audience isn't much better. They only play western AAA since only these kind of games sell well on PS4 and Xbox One. There's no point to attract this audience if they don't care about japanese games (which is the main selling point of a Nintendo system).

This why some of the biggest Japanese games are on & coming exclusively to the PlayStation 4.

Re: Katsuhiro Harada on What Sets Pokkén Tournament Apart from Tekken

banacheck

It'll be interesting to see how it plays especially with the Tekken team on development, I'll be sticking with Street Fighter V. Gameplay wise SFV is definitely one of the best fighting games on the market, & better than SF4. It was ashame it released in it bare bone state, but considering every update & DLC this generation will be free I sure it's bare bone state will not last long.

Re: Analyst Firm DFC Believes a 2016 Nintendo NX Launch "Would Be a Mistake"

banacheck

If it's a console Nintendo has got there work cut out for them, they'll need the software asap without delays & here is the big one 3rd party support. But here is the thing the Wii U is a lot cheaper then it was at launch & it's still not selling, so you gotta ask yourself is it a software problem. People buy consoles for the software (Games), I just wonder how other people see Nintendo's software. Games & the people who play them have changed over the years, it's another form of entertainment.

Re: Weirdness: This Super Mario Maker Level is a Functioning Calculator

banacheck

I love game's like this that give you the tools to make your own levels or games, I am not sure how in-depth this game is as I don't own it. But LBP people made some unbelievable game's, levels, calculator's you name it, MM even hired one of it's players because his creations where that good. I am really looking forwards to Dreams as it has powerful creation tools, in-fact it's more or less a game engine designed for everyone to use. They have even used it to make Dreams itself, you'll be able to make anything you can Dream-up from level's, game's, films etc. So it'll be interesting to see what people will make, looking forwards to it.

MM says that the thousands of characters in its game already were all made on the PS4 — not in a separate development tool. Its artists and designers used the same system players will use to make everything seen in the gameplay demos so far. The ambition is to literally allow players to represent their deepest, strangest ideas in glorious, easy-to-build 3D and take one of the most tedious things in life — people explaining their dreams — and turn it into one of the most compelling new ideas in gaming.

Re: Editorial: Considering the Recipe For Successful Nintendo Remasters and Re-Releases

banacheck

I don't have a problem with remasters if done right updated graphics frame rate etc, like Uncharted collection, Tearaway Unfolded, & Wind Waker HD. But remasters should not be price as a full new game, the Uncharted collection was done right because it had 3 games for the price of one. Gravity Rush has been done right because it's only £24.99 with all its DLC, this is what Nintendo needs to be doing also regarding pricing. Anything from £19.99 - £29.99 depending on what it includes, is fair especially if they've spent there time on the remaster.

Re: Soapbox: If Nintendo Took On Virtual Reality, Would It Be A Disaster Or Gaming's Holy Grail?

banacheck

Speaking with BBC, Sony CEO Kaz Hirai confirmed that over 200 different developers are currently working with the PlayStation VR headset on roughly 100 different titles. That kind of support for a piece of hardware that hasn't even been released is almost unheard of, and it should bode well for anyone who purchases PlayStation VR when it launches later this year.

VR needs software support if it's ever going to take off, as you can see above Sony already has over 200 developer's signed-up to support VR. This is one area I cannot see Nintendo doing very well in, Nintendo already struggle's with 3rd party support for there console never mind a VR headset. There is also another factor Nintendo would need to consider, VR is not going to take off over night something Sony & others are fully aware of. The only time Nintendo would jump in is when its cheap enough to make & to sell to families, which again is a fair few years off yet.

Re: Talking Point: Five Key Challenges Nintendo Faces with the NX

banacheck

I don't get why hardcore Nintendo fans don't know or don't want to believe Nintendo isn't competing with Sony or Microsoft, Nintendo is a family console who see's themselves as toy makers Nintendo themselves have stated this more times then I can remember. This means Nintendo is going to do there own thing like thay have been doing, new ways to play over powerful hardware. If people think Nintendo going to release a hybrid portable/console as powerful if not more powerful than the PS4, then you cannot know Nintendo as well as you thought you did. Nintendo will want to make it's hardware which is profitable from day one which is also affordable for families, there selling point will be uniqueness in the way you play over powerful hardware. This time around isn't going to be as easy as last time as the PS3 & Xbox360 where almost at the end of there life cycles, almost 10 year old hardware. Not hard to make a more powerful hardware that is also affordable for families, yet Nintendo still sold its hardware (Wii U) at a small loss while still costing a pretty price for families. Also Nintendo has other problem's regarding software, sure it has it's own software with droughts in between but that's where 3rd party fills the gap. Also if I am not mistaken Nintendo stated themselves that thay underestimated HD development, and with more powerful hardware cost & resources for development have to come from somewhere.

Re: Minecraft Finally Digs Its Way Onto the Wii U eShop on 17th December

@Raptor78 Says:

Now when this fails to burn up the charts and bring in the big money who are they going to blame?

Do you really think it's been ported over to the Wii U to make £££? they know full well Minecraft on the Wii U isn't going to set the charts on fire. This is more about getting Minecraft to Nintendo fans, & probably the reason why it's $10 more is to try & make the money back for its port as they know full well it isn't going to sell loads.
