@ActionMan

huh? you disagree with his statement that console/PC gaming provides a deeper and more engaging gameplay experience than does a game on an iPad/mobile phone?

According to EA's research someone who plays on a PC has the same attention span as those do that play on mobile phone's 90 seconds, console gamers spend 2 hours playing. This is highly unlikely as i know people who spend over 8hours playing on consoles. Also the same with PC's i know people that blow there 90 seconds of research out of the water. So yes i do disagree with EA research.

According to EA research, mobile games hold the attention for 90 seconds and PC games for 90 minutes, but consoles can keep engagement for two hours at a time.

Just this statement shows you EA's research is worth s**t, and this idiot spits it out as fact.

And while your telling us this some other idiot from EA are saying this: EA's Frank Gibeau: PS4 and Xbox One will revitalise console gaming.

Make your minds up.

Re: Reaction: Nintendo Reminds Us of the Wii's Glory Days With Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club

@ThomasBW84

A number of factors have led to lots of people not really knowing the Wii U is a new system

A casual going into a shop and seeing a Wii U on display playing this who might own a Wii, is not going to think thats the same game i've already got but with online & in HD is it worth the $299.99 when i've already got it, & are other game going to look the same as the Wii version but with HD. Some people do research into what thay are buying some people don't. And it was only the other day i seen a review of Kingdom of Hearts 1.5 HD. Thay are not actually a gaming website, but thay down marked Kingdom of Heart HD. Thinking it was a NEW game comparing it to the like of games just releasing now, actually i'm going to link the article because it is that stupid it is truly unbelievable. Of course some people went nuts, and you can see at the end of the article she was trying to copy some of the comments with facts.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix is full of beautifully animated worlds and nostalgic throwbacks to classic Disney movies. Unfortunately, the revamp of the original title brings virtually nothing new or fresh to this aging series.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 is the latest in the popular Japanese role playing game series from Square Enix that mashes up characters from the Final Fantasy and Disney universes, and it demonstrates the studio’s understanding of their core demographic, sticking to past attributes that consistently work.

Like previous games, players primarily control Sora, the main spiky haired protagonist of the series, and venture off to locate their party of missing misfit members Riku and Kairi.

As a Kingdom Hearts fan, I was more than disappointed to run through the various games I was provided with, only to find out one wasn’t even playable, and the other two were just better looking versions of games I had played in the past.

It goes on, now here a comment from a reader.

You do realize that the reason this game has "content they've been sitting on for years" and it feels like game you "had played countless times in the past" is because this is just a re-release of the original game in HD...

If you read the link she does go on to say how the game is not worth the asking price, because it is an old game she's already played. Not everyone is this stupid but after reading this the other day, i do believe some casuals are.

http://www.torontosun.com/2013/09/12/kingdom-hearts-15-lacks-the-right-key-to-unlock-a-good-game

Do you think the Wii U will not have the same problem? Just hope Nintendo has the common sense to actually advertise new games to casuals.

Re: Shin'en: If Developers Can't Make Great Looking Games On Wii U, It's Their Own Fault

banacheck

. I think that if you have problems making a great looking game on Wii U then it’s not a problem of the hardware.

Seeing how some of these developers are making a game for the PS3/360/PC & WiiU sometimes, on a budget off a publisher and also on a deadline & pressure off the publisher also in some cases. I would like to see some developers put there money where there mouth is & do the same with a AAA title, but running on all platforms top notch like suggested.

Some developers spend 5 years making a game for just two platforms for a reason. And there is also a reason 1st parties dev's make great looking games on just on platform, never mind 3-4 different platforms.

Re: Shin'en: If Developers Can't Make Great Looking Games On Wii U, It's Their Own Fault

banacheck

I think that if you have problems making a great looking game on Wii U then it’s not a problem of the hardware.

You can say the Wii U is the most powerful console on the planet and it wouldn't make a difference, if it's harder to develop for the less time you actually spend developing the game as you get to grips with the hardware. And most of these dev's are not making one version of a game, Sony had the same problem with the PS3. Hence the PS4, and because of the harder hardware development costs went through the roof.

And why do you think Sonys made a Third Party Production Team?

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?

@andrea987

who plays it it's you, your person, your emotions, your instincts. The same we're using in real life.

Than i would suggest you don't play games if you cannot distinguish reality from a video game, especially when your sat in front of a TV with a DS3 pushing buttons etc very life like lol. And no your real life emotions are not the same as the ones you experience in a video game, but you do experience emotions while playing games studies have shown this.

Re: Iwata Asks Explores The Origins of Toon Link and The Process Behind Making The Wind Waker HD

banacheck

Wind Waker iteration stood out as exceptional in HD.

You can clearly see the improvements in this video, the HD makes the game a lot better in my opinion. On the ship you'll see the draw distance where on the GameCube doesn't have the lighthouse in the draw distance. Little things like this add to the game, overall Nintendo have done an excellent job with the Wind Waker HD. I'll be getting this with Dragons Crown next month but the disc version, i hope thay add a map of the world like in GTAV or Skyrim that would be cool. I've got so meny games to play but not enough time. Haven't even touched Kingdom of Hearts yet.

I forgot to add the swinging/ship etc animations have also been improved, and other things too so it's not just a HD improvement.

Seriously, opinions cannot be wrong.

His opinion was XBox/PS owners have no interest in a Mario game.

So yes that opinion is wrong like it or not just because i own a PS3, it doesn't mean i don't play or own NSMB.

So what your saying if you don't post positive comments, even tho you don't agree with them you shouldn't be on the website. What a joke.

i agree i shouldn't of said fact,

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?

Why is it acceptable for an XBox/PS owner to have no interest in a Mario game

No thats not fact that's your opinion, also opinions can be wrong like you've just proven.

pointing to review aggregators. Opinions are subjective, not scientific.

Yes an opinion an opinion that shared by the majority of these comments , hence the comments being proof of that opinion.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy Grand Theft Auto V On Wii U?

@Rafie

in the first 24 hours Take-Two Interactive Software and the Grand Theft Auto Series has beaten its record with over $800 million in launch-day sales.

It's great to see GTAV doing very well, R* deserve the success thay are getting at the moment after 5years of development.

Hopefully R* next gen game is RDR2 which i can safely say R* should boycott the Wii U are reading them comments, after all most of R* games contain adult themes. Which isn't family friendly enough for a Nintendo platform.

I feel sorry for those that want GTAV on the Wii U, but it's there own community thats preventing some excellent 3rd support.

Re: Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me

banacheck

Oh and i cannot wait to see the review or comments on Bayonetta2 which is a Wii U exclusive i might add, with plenty of ways to torture & murder your victims, very family friendly i might add. I would like to see if this gets the same boycott treatment from the author.

Re: Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me

banacheck

You see the problem with the article is if the author finds the content in GTA uncomfortable, surely other games just released would of gave that same uncomfortable feeling. but yet the author didn't have the need to write an article on the other released game despite at the time the game being banned in Australia. I also find it odd how one author finds GTA fine for a Nintendo platform while pointing out its adult content, and also knowing adults play games. while the other author acts likes adults don't play games, which for some odd reason asks for a boycott for a game thats not on a Nintendo platform, maybe he should ask for a boycott on Chinatown Wars here on out seeing it deals with the same adult themes, and is also a GTA game, which is on a Nintendo platform.

At the end of the day, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars truly is one the best titles to ever grace the Nintendo DS. Despite the fact that it took on an old-style graphical approach and introduced alien concepts, the transition of the series to Nintendo’s handheld has been a smooth one – the end result being a fantastic adult game that is not worth missing. Trust us, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be the biggest third-party title to grace the Nintendo DS this year. 9/10
https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/2009/04/grand_theft_auto_chinatown_wars_ds

Read the comments from the same Nintendo fanbase which go on to contradict themselves after reading the same comments here, thay are a joke.

I just find it odd a banned game didn't get the same treatment, surely a banned game contains more explicit content than the game which hasn't be banned in a country, maybe thats because GTA is more of a high profile game which i'll add again didn't get banned. Or is it in reality to gain controversy to gain website hits knowing how popular the game is, myself i think so.

Re: Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me

@Damo

You're missing one key point here - when you watch a movie like Heat, you're a passive viewer and not actually taking part in the on-screen violence. In GTA V, you're the one perpetrating the violence.

Your not taking part in any violence when pushing buttons & pushing the twin sticks its nothing like real violence, Just like in Mario when your character is jumping on there heads, there is violence in nearly every video game, depending what the game is. To me when people bring up violence in video games, it's a cheap way of attacking that game in question, which so happens to be a high profile game. Far better than GTAIV, but i also liked GTAIV & every other GTA game thats been out. Why wasn't anything said about chiantown wars? because it was made for the DS, but has the same violence as any other game.

Thats ironic, so Wii Uers must also be idiots as you put it, as Wii U also has CoD. Coming to think of it Mario is just as bad as COD but innovative to Wii Uers, what a joke. I don't know what your playing but it isn't what i'm playing, i just thank god your not into the other consoles, one less idiot fanboy to deal with.

Re: Atari Founder Nolan Bushnell Claims Nintendo "Could Be On The Path To Irrelevance"

banacheck

@MrCanzine
Of course Sony & Microsoft face the same risk, Nintendo don't do themselves any favours saying "We look at ourselves as a Toy Company" & also refering to there customers as children. And is it not fact Nintendo are having indie games from the mobile market on the Wii U.

Also gaming has come a long way since the 80's, so it's going to keep on evolving over the decades.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U May Be Playing Catch-Up With Some Developers, But Money Always Talks

banacheck

@belmont
@banacheck Thanks for that. I remember that initial PS4 demos run at 30 fps that made some people worried.

A, It's down to the developers how thay make there games, hence Sonys pushing for 60fps 1080p.

B, Most of these games have also been made on incomplete hardware.

@JaxonH

See for yourself- 1080p and 60fps:

I don't see your point ??? as i wasn't talking about the Wii U.

Re: Bethesda: The Time For Convincing Publishers And Developers To Support Wii U Is "Long Past"

banacheck

Myself i don't think Nintendo'ers get it, 3rd parties benefit both Nintendo & themselves, thay also give Nintendo time to develop there 1st party games taking the work load off Nintendo themselves. Take a look at this Xmas games, then there is nothing from Nintendo untill spring 2014. There are gaps of nothing releasing at all, & this is where 3rd party support comes in. It also benefit's gamers also, because the more time Nintendo had developing there content the better it'll turn out. But i'm sure Nintendo'ers will take this as a jab at Nintendo.

Re: Bethesda: The Time For Convincing Publishers And Developers To Support Wii U Is "Long Past"

banacheck

@element187
Didn't you notice " i can add links if you wish.", unless people are stupid i'm sure thay can use Google themselves, after all why take two developers word on it, there are a fair few indie dev's that are supporting Nintendo which everyone already knows. But there are quite a few developers that say the same thing about Nintendo,"lack of support", or is that just coincidence?

I think if read the article it would help, Avalanche [dev kit], NetherRealm Studios,[ Injustice: Gods Among Us DLC]

Re: Bethesda: The Time For Convincing Publishers And Developers To Support Wii U Is "Long Past"

banacheck

Weird.... from what the independent 3rd parties have said Nintendo is very helpful and supportive towards them bringing games to the console

Actually not all dev's say this, but i'm sure the one's working on Wii U games will say this. Dev's have sent back there dev's kits to Nintendo, because of lack of support, i can add links if you wish.

example

According to Avalanche, there was no contact from Nintendo and themselves, so there was no incentive to develop. Apparently this is common among third party developers and could be the reason that Wii U owners are not seeing DLC for popular titles. It was announced that Injustice: Gods Among Us will receive DLC support this summer after several weeks of radio silence, but according to developer NetherRealm Studios, that’s because Nintendo wasn’t talking to them about how to distribute the DLC.

And sadly there is more, but i'm sure as Wii U'ers put it thay must be lazy to get there content on every other platform apart from Wii U.

Re: Bethesda: The Time For Convincing Publishers And Developers To Support Wii U Is "Long Past"

banacheck

What he is saying is right Sony makes an effort to go & see these developers, the amount of support for the PS4 from the like of Platinum Games - Bethesda themselves thay are all there. And this was done as the PS4 was in development, for god sake you have a lot of competition. You cannot think i'll make a console & snap my fingers now start making games for it, it's a relationship you have with these developers to came to a agreement to support your platform over time. & if a manufacturer cannot make an effort to come and see you the developer, are thay serious about there platform? or just taking the piss? because these developers don't need you as there is a lot of competition out there. And if the Wii U sells like hot cakes i still doubt meny developers will support the Wii U, just like the Wii.
