Boom!

Gearbox may have come out second best when pitting Battleborn against the behemoth that is Overwatch, but the company still has Borderlands under its belt - and development on the third entry in the popular FPS series is already ongoing.

Sadly, it doesn't look like Borderlands 3 will be coming to the Switch, though. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has stated on Twitter that although his company was in talks with Nintendo at one point, communication broke down and he feels that the Japanese firm has shifted its focus elsewhere:

Of course, there's still time for this situation to change. If Switch sells well and is as easy to develop for as has been stated, then we imagine that Pitchford and Nintendo could find themselves talking again pretty soon. However, for the time being at least, it seems that the Gearbox boss is feeling a little left out, which is worrying when you consider Nintendo's very real need to secure as much third party support for Switch as possible.

Would you like to see titles like Borderlands 3 on the Switch, or would you prefer third party games which play to the strengths of the platform? Let us know by posting a comment.
